    Engine Cover paint

we have dropped an engine cover into the painshop today to see how it turns out Let me knwo how it turns out (Its not Ho's is it!?!?!) I know what I wanna do, and have just been to halfrauds to get the paint made up. But guess what - the have no white in stock to make the QX1, and dont have the correct blue in stock to make the Azure. Guess I'll wait a little longer then!

    Engine Cover paint

Would brake caliper paint be of a high enough resistance? ie : http://www.foliatecshop.co.uk/shop/foliatec-brake-caliper-paint-p-80.html though that wont leave the kinda metallic finish I'm after. Damn, this is hard work.

    Engine Cover paint

Yeah, but not available in the colours I want. If they did more colours, they'd be perfect.
  8. Ive done a search on here, and cant really find anythign conclusive. And have also spent an hour on google, but nothing really useful cropped up. Basically, Im looking at spraying up the engine cover. Trying to find a high temp paint, but only ones I can find , they dont do in a good selection of colours. Plati-kote do a high temp automotive paint, but they dont sell it in the UK. And their other products are rated to a max temp of 150C. What paints would you reccomend? Has anyone done this? Ideally I want to use spray cans, as I wanna do it myself without having to get a bodyshop to do it. Would the touch up sprays (like the kind you get in halfrauds) for body work be ok? As that gives me a massive range of colours to play with. Cheers Al
  9. I said I wasnt gunna mod mine either - I last 5 days! Yup, those figures sound familiar. Though tbh, I stopped working it out! I had an RX8 before, so all I know is this is more eco. But dont really care. Oh, and
  10. Thats where me and Ho where planning on meeting. I reckon on 1145 ish? Gives us time to allow for getting stuck behind caravans on the A69. And then time to find the meeting place at the other end!
  11. Not sure if you guys have heard of these. They're from down under, and just started to break into the UK. Ive been following them for sometime. Check them out http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FArZxLj6DLk http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqxnm6t3QMw&feature=related
  12. Thanks! They're proving to be a pain to keep clean though!
  13. Think I seen that checklist on the OC a month or so ago. Failing that, you could always bribe a monkey at one of the dealers to give you a copy.
  14. It'll take abotu 90 mins driving at steady pace to get from Glasgow to Carlisle. Beware of mobile cam vans on bridges on M74 as you get towards Lockerbie, and theres average camera's on the 50mph roadworks at Gretna
  15. Didnt I read somewhere that they are replacing the F1 - which explains the scarcity. Get some Vredestein Ultral Sessanta This is 2nd car ive had them fitted to, and find them amazing. And they'll be cheaper than Toyo's in that size.
  16. Did exactly the same thing a week ago... only I was driving a banged up Ford Galaxy! Yup, felt like a bit of a tit afterwards.
  17. Aye, myself and Ho heading over together, possibly with Phil if nothing gets booked in at last minute
  18. No probs Ho. You'd never guess that I'd done it before!
  19. Yeah, we waited in the p!**ing rain for you too!
  20. Having fitted a Nismo dual to my own, and watched one getting fitted today, I can say they are easy to fit, and dont need any cutting. However - DONT DROP THE NUTS!! Pain in the @rse to get out form the undertray!
  21. Is it July already? Feck, I musta missed our summer then! I was probably making a cuppa at the time.

    Locking Nuts

Ove got the Dotz lockers that came with my rims. You have to be right up close to even spot that they are different to the standard nuts that are on there. Think anyone is mental not to have them fitted!
  23. I'm far from Normal....apparantly I mean, who drives all the way to Glasgow for a weekend break! I mean come on!! Guarenteed rain, wind, and Neds....
  24. Nice pics Adam! See you again on Saturday!
  25. best way to describe it to insurance is as a "non performance enhancing intake modification" Pretty much every mod I do I describe as that. And since the ECU dials out any actual gains, you aint lying to them. the Nismo dual sounds great too when coupled with a decent exhaust!
