  1. Just having a browse of AutoTrader... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p If any prospective owners here have been considering it, then feel free to drop me a PM for full car history. Including how much part-ex they paid for it. I wish they hadnt replaced the black mesh at the front with silver. Looks chavvy now.
  2. reminds me of how Ho's car used to look when we first started out spending far too many hours at ESR! looks good pal
  3. As Mike says, I came back from sea once to find blue specs of paint all over the back of my car. I called the council immediately and they sent out an Inspector to have a look at the damage and he admitted responsibility (didnt have a leg to stand on as the paint matched the paint on the garage doors they'd painted.) I informed the council that I would be getting the car repaired/resprayed by a company of my choice and they would be accepting footing the bill. I was refused to accept that they would simply try to clean the car themselves as was suggested. So I went to a local professional detailer, got a quote, told the council, and they gave me a cheque. The paint came off with a medium clay. It was the only part of the job the detailer did that was any good! But thats another story, and I see no need to drag that mans name through the mid again. No matter how tempted I am.
  4. If you mean next Sunday then I wont be on the boat. I'll be sunning it up in Spain. Think you'll be on Maersk Delft for that crossing.
  5. I was gunna come find you for longer natter, but work got in the way. Good to meet you though.
  6. loads of info about this in this very section you are posting in. Have a read...
  7. Dont quote me on this, but I think he has been posted somewhere abroad for a while (he's in the RAF). I vaguely remember him mentioning it to me.
  8. I was going to suggest a Civic Type R FD2. But then I read you want cheap. And they are still £18k ish to get hold of. FTO? Cheap as chips to buy, and pretty cheap to run if you get the GPX rather than the MIVEC.
  9. I just had a similar experience with my VXR8 The dealer insisted on seeing the orginal of my insurance certificate. But since they wouldnt give me an exact day I could collect the car, I refused to take out a policy. Once I got a date, I called Sky Insurance, took out the policy, and a perfect scanned copy of my cover note was with me within 20 mins, and the dealer 5 mins after that so they could go tax it. And Sky beat all previous quotes by a good £200!

Looking good. Last Nissan I seen in that colour was an R33 GTR Le Mans edition!
  11. There isn't, it's a Vauxhall club so Lexx will be hanging out with the Corsa boys Shut it you There is a small community which acts through Pistonheads. It seems busy enough, but isnt really the size and organisation of this place. As for the badges - Holden/HSV is a mostly unkown brand over here. So it was easier for GM to rebrand them Vauxhall and sell them through Vauxhall dealers.
  12. I did too. But I refuse to pay £3k premium for the priviledge of having a white car.
  13. No chance of that. The only mistake I have mad is buying another black car. I forgot how much of a pain they are to wash!
  14. HSV badges already ordered!
  15. It was when I left. They are waiting on the V5 after change of reg before they can pass it on
  16. It's that damn itch. Once I get it into my head that I want something new, well thats it. I ummed and arred for a year before finally moving on.
  17. It's at the very top of his thread...
  18. Yesterday morning I drove the 160 miles to Loughborough to collect my new car. Phantom Black VXR8 2009, fitted with the 6.2l LS3 GM V8 - 424 bhp (316 kW)@5900rpm and 418 lb·ft (567 N·m)@4600rpm. The dealer was nice enough to put £25 of fuel in the tank. Which I got 120 miles out of. But that was motorway cruising, where if the guage is to be believed I averaged 25mpg at circa 75mph. Which, isnt too much worse than I got in the Zed. It's a totally different driving experience to the Zed. When Im sitting in it, I dont feel like I have to go fast or loud. Its such a huge interior that it calms and sooths. Yet the slightest press of the loud peddal and she's off like a rocket. I had an M3 sitting up my a**e on the M1 coming home, I pulled in and let him past and he booted it. I "may" have been goaded into it. The of shock in his face when I was easily keeping pace with him was a picture. He's just read the Vauxhall badge on the back and didnt know what it meant. The gear shift when giving it some stick is brutal. But its to be expected when shifting just before the red line. It's going to take me some time to adapt my driving style from that of the Zed. The red line is at 6500 which has caught me out a few times already as I've hid the limiter on slip roads. The interior build quality is much better than the Zed was. Nothing rattles, everything is attached and doesnt move or depress. And it has back seat. Very usable back seat. Im 6ft 2" and my brother who is 6ft3" could still sit behind me comfortably. I havent really had the chance to go give her some stick on twisty roads. I want to get used to driving her smoothly before giving the stick. But I will deff have to upgrade the suspension based on the some twisty roads ive been on. There is too much body roll for my liking, but thats easily sorted with a Pedders coilover kit. The one thing I prepared myself for when selling the Zed was that I would no longer get the looks. I was wrong. This car gets alot of attention. Roll on getting the Bi-Modal exhaust fitted. She's far too quiet at the moment. She's a big car too. I over hang most parking spaces! Gotta be careful with that! Economy - please dont ask! Im not bothered about it. I just want fun. lol. I'll not be leaving the forum, and will hang around like a bad smell. And I'll keep my experiences updated.
  19. A red Zed in Hartlepool huh. I will have to keep a look out for you. Although I say bye bye to my Zed today. YOu may have seen a moddified white Zed buzzing round town from time to time Have a pop into the NE meets section of the forum. We have a meet coming up in August
