  1. I did see more than a few Zeds. Infact I chatted to a member from this very forum when I was on duty. theres a spotted post about it if you go back far enough. No need to take a pic of one though, I seen plenty
  2. best not let you anywhere near it then
  3. As some of you know, I worked on a Dover-Dunkerque ferry for 12 months recently. In that time, I was fortunate enough to see some rare cars, some amazing cars, and some damned right ugly cars. I seem to have misplaced many of the pics I took, which is annoying. But below are some of the choice pics I took in that year. Ferarri F430 16M.... Its a replica, but who cares!..... Original GTA touring car... All these cars are owned by one guy.....you do not want to even guess at the value... One of my all time fav cars..... More Alfa Randoms Simply wow.... unfortunatly had a bit of a shunt and was held together with gaffa tape... Bork... And finally, a little something closer to home
  4. You know what mate. If the R8 had been repaired by now and I'd sold it, I would have snapped your hand off for that price.
  5. Am I still welcome even if I turn up in Jon's Golf?
  6. *shudders at memories of Evans Halshaw* My advice would be to buy private - prefably from a member here. At least then you can have a look at the cars history, and know hows its been looked after (and if the owner is a knob!)
  7. Only one word to describe that episode S***e
  8. I know the FTO is going. I was pointing out a typing error.
  9. you picked up a Bronze fto and selling your FTO?.....
  10. I got that same email...... *wonders what he will spend his $8.5M on......* See ya later suckers!
  11. unlikely since this thread was last posted on 4 years ago.....
  12. My own personal experience of this place is somewhat tainted. Had a set of wheels fitted, and a 4 wheel alignment done. Car came out worse than when it went in. As for not doing "chav" cars. They must have changed their policy, as I have seen a number of those there over the years. (both at the new premises and old). But. I guess everyone has bad reviews from time to time. Each to their own and all that.
  13. The service and paint check can be dont by any garage that is VAT registered. Manufacturer cannot void the warranty, provided genuine parts are used in the service. Falcon Performance in Boro are the only people I would let anywhere near my Zed when I had her. Dont let Evans Halshaw (cargo fleet lane) anywhere near your car. Mine went in for a service, and came back with over 40 miles more on the clock. In fact, I could rant all day about them, and SG Petch (had an RX8 that went there once). Stick with Falcon, and you'll not go wrong.
  14. Hmmmmmm, sounds very much like my old car. Does it have a "different" front nose to other 350's?
  15. Welcome to the club, White Zeds are still pretty rare. Can I ask - is it on a plate that starts with an "M"? and does it have blue interior lighting, and a rear spoiler?
  16. Not kicking off mate. As you say, whatever floats your boat On a reliability note - I had mine for 4 years completely trouble free (alloys didnt stay on the car for long so cant comment on the corrosion, but I know it was a problem. But then it is on many Marques these days it seems) I used to leave mine standing for 3-4 months at a time whilst I was away at sea, and it started first time every time when I returned. It did flood once - but that was my own doing, and I got it started by following a guide on the forum. At least you are giving constructive advice. I just get wound up when people offer opinions with no evidence to back it up.
  17. Before I go off on my usual rant about people slating the RX8, I just want to say something about that dealer.... ....AVOID! They are difficult in the extreme to deal with, never returning calls, and generally taking 3 times longer than any other dealer to arrange anything. That said, if you decide to get the car, be sure it is 100% before you hand over any cash, as you dont want to be having to keep going back there to get things sorted. Im assuming you have owned one to make such a comment? And what good is such a comment to a potential owner? You dont explain why its difficult to live with, and infact offer nothing contructive to the OP's request. If you cant say something helpful, better to say nothing at all. I had mine as an everyday car. And had no issues at all with it in the 4 years I owned it. It was the same tax bracket as the Zed, cost the same in insurance, and did about the same mpg for my driving style. And it hands down beat the Zed in handling on every road and track I had them on. But hey, thats just my opinion. STAN! Your turn! Al
  18. Sherwoods Vauxhall in Darlington. They are one of the only authorised Vauxhall dealers to deal with Monaro's/R8's
  19. Well, I got the work yesterday from the insurance that she is being repaired. No-where near as much damage as suspected. Total is around £5k, and that includes the £1500 for a new alloy.
  20. Lee's a good friend of mine, and you wouldnt believe the amount of stick he gets from various members for not replying instantly (I know its been a week in your case). He has been close to sacking it all off on more than one occasion as oftent he grief he gets can get overwhelming. Too much is often expected of people/traders on this forum. They do alot of this work in their spare time. And although yes they do it for profit, they are still offering their own services in their own time for the benefit of others. I happen to know what Lee's profit margins are, and I can tell you that he makes very little on most of the services he offers here. He's a good bloke and is just offering his services for the benefit of others and asking for very little in return. Hence my membersship to the Lee Defense League.
  21. Give Lee a chance! He, like many folks, has probably only gone back to work today after the festive break. And remember he does actually have a real job, and the service he gives this forum is as a member trader so he has other "real life" commitments. Right. Back to work
