  1. ro's are much more common in the UK, so there is a vast variety of parts in stock. And a number of them have climbed trees over the years so 2nd parts are easy to come by too. As for my R8....only 550 ish of them imported to the UK. Some parts are kept in stock, but I need a new diff subframe which isnt in stock in UK or Europe.
  2. I just spat my tea over the laptop when I read that!
  3. Yeah Mitch, I span my R8 back in December. Bent the rear suspension, shattered an alloy. Still not got the car back as the VX dealer the car is at were useless. But making progress now, and just waiting on parts coming from Oz. I'll be coming from up North to the Malton meet.
  4. Already on my Facebook Gazwalker.com blog What a cheating ******* Gaz Walker is.
  5. I should be there, but God alone knows if I'll be in the R8 or not. *shakes head in despair* I remember now that you should have been there last October. Me and Nixy were looking for you. They can develop some gear box issues when people start trying to put mega power through them. Generally they are pretty sound. If the car you look at has any service history from "Monkfish Performance" you can guarentee its a pretty solid car. They know their stuff down there.
  6. If the car develops a problem in the first couple of weeks of ownership which relates to a serious underlying problem, its much easier to return to a dealer and get your cash back, than it is if its a private seller.
  7. Glad thats cleared up. May I suggest in future you add this to your original post, and just update the title. No need to start a new thread for every update. Keeps the site cleaner, and helps the search function work properly
  8. Gareth Walker from Envy Performance in Newcastle. (link also added to Facebook)
  9. http://www.hsv.org.uk Go introduce yourself there The search function sucks a**e, but if you ask questions, people will answer them. The monaro comes in a few different guises, and 2 engins - 5.7 LS1 or the 6.0 LS2. Ive got the VXR8, so not 100% certain about differences or problems. Do you live anywhere near Malton? The Pistonheads breakfast meet is there in April, and there are a number of the HSV lot taking a run up. My mate James has a supercharged VXR 'ro, and its a hell of a beast. There'll be a few standard CV8's and VXR's there too.
  10. Some members on here may be interested in the following article that came my way today...... ----------------------- Gareth Walker Wins UKIPT Nottingham 2011 February 16, 2011 | by David | posted in Poker News Gareth Walker has won first place in the 2011 UKIPT Nottingham event, managing to come out on top of a field of 1,058 contestants. This is a record number of participants for a live poker competition in the United Kingdom. Generating a prize pool of ₤529,000, this event stretched over four days before Gareth Walker won the title and ₤109,000 in prize money. Last year, Walker also reached the final table of this event but finished in 8th place with winnings of ₤7,600. This year, it was a different story at the UKIPT that is presented by PokerStars. The ₤500 main event of the UKIPT Nottingham drew in 478 participants on Day 1a and these contestants were joined by an additional 580 players that entered into the action on Day 1b. By Day 2, there were 215 players that were still competing for the title. Following a ten hour battle at the final table, Gareth Walker emerged victorious, with Brett Angell finishing as runner up. Earlier in the event at a time when he was a strong favourite to win the tournament, Angell lost a pot worth one million chips. He managed to bounce back but the title was not to be his. At the final table of 8 players, David Heaton from the U.K. was the first to be eliminated and finished with winnings of ₤7,950. Thomas Rolfe, also from the U.K. was the next to be forced to leave and he did so with ₤13,750. Chris Dowling from Ireland finished in 6th place with ₤19,050. Mike Hill from the U.K. was the next to leave with ₤24,350 in prize money. In fourth place was Tim Bettingen from Germany who qualified via PokerStars and finished the event with ₤31,700. Romano Pizzo from Italy came in 3rd place with ₤40,750 in prize winnings. Second place in this event went to U.K.’s Brett Angell, who also qualified via PokerStars and earned ₤68,700 for his efforts. Having just won the largest ever live poker event in the U.K. to date, Gareth Walker is expected to be participating in the remaining events of the UKIPT 2011. The next stop for this season’s UKIPT is Manchester and this event will be taking place from 10th to 14th March, 2011. PokerStars is seen as the best of all uk online poker sites because they offer players the chance to qualify for UKIPT and EPT events very cheaply, and this is also the reason they are listed best of all australian poker sites, due to offering satellites to their ANZPT events. --------------------
  11. Majority of private sales will be through Autotrader and/or pistonheads and/or ebay. Nissan Dealer cars will be through the Nissan Used car network (access from www.nissan.co.uk) Im afraid I am struggling a little bit as to what you want from members? I mean, if you seen all the cars we've already posted, and are already looking in those places where cars are advertised, then what else can we do? I odnt think we have any clairvoyant members. No offense, but Im not gunna sit online all day looking at these sites to spot a car specially for you. Im having enough trouble trying to sort out my next car. Welcome to the club by all means, its a great place to hang out, and there is a wealth of information here, when used correctly. My advice is to use it in this way; - Find a car you like the looks off (seems there are plenty out there that match your requirements) - post a link up on here for members views - ask if any members know the history of the car. - If its a trek away from where you live, a kind enough member may offer to go give it a once over for you.
  12. and lock this thread. Sick to death of teaser threads recently *yawn*
  13. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p Infact, Im sick of posting links. Thats 3 already like you are looking for. and its taken me like 3 minutes to find. Ok....you may have to stretch to £16k. But if thats the current market value....
  14. I dont care if its good or not. I'll still buy it, and still likely rave about it like its the greatest game ever.
  15. I cooked MartinMac a romantic meal for 3.....
  16. Supaguard - you pay £300 for the priveldge of waxing your own car......crazy.
  17. I stand corrected on the Wales thing. However, as you say....since the point of the weekend is driving, it is quite excluding for those of us who live a distance away. And Beavis - I wasnt referring to you. And I was hoping to deter further sabre rattling by those who are uninformed and way too opinionated. We have way too many people like that on the forum at the moment. And thank you to whoever removed the Poll....it proves the mods do indeed listen and are invaluable to this club
  18. As a non Zed owner, but still very much a member here, I will only be attending LakeZ as I will be welcome there. Wales is for Zed owners only (which grates on me a little, as it means I cant meet up with old friends, and meet forum members for the first time to put faces to names....but thats a whole different rant) As people have stated, they are 2 very much different formats. Both have their merits. As for the people above who are screaming "WALES WALES WALES" like some demented cult followers......have you done the LakeZ meet? No. Because no-one has. Give the meet a chance. Who knows, you may enjoy it As for the OP, I'd say go to both if you can. But if you cant, then choose which format suits you best. Its pointless asking members here which they think you should do, since as I have said, no-one has done LakeZ yet. And before people start on at me about me never attending Wales.....I missed 3 Wales weekends in the time I owned the car....not because I didnt want to go. But because I work away and was on a boat for all 3. Given the chance, I would have attended. In the same way I am now attending LakeZ. I would suggest the poll is removed, as its biased and unfair to Martin who is putting alot of work into organising the FIRST LakesZ.
  19. I saw that Martin had replied to this, and just figured he was owning up to being 80 yrs old Though as he points out, that thread is a good read And good on your for getting your hands dirty and doing the work yourself
  20. Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!
  21. Yeah, but that was for the 350z-uk dogging sub-forum.....
  22. I dont believe these were sold on the HR models....
