  1. Some people have too much time on their hands building stuff like that I'm only jealous!
  2. Well, thats the Giulietta off the list. I just didn't get on with that car at all. Terrible driving position for someone as tall as me, and no matter how much I adjusted the seat I just could not get comfortable. The 1.4 multiair engine is competent, and pretty smooth. But utterly lifeless. I know Im asking alot for something to have some zing to it for the price range Im looking at. And as for the part-ex they offered on the VXR8.....I actually laughed at him. They did have a Brera S in for £20k with 15k miles on. Love these cars....until I got inside. Such a cramped cabin. You feel like the dials are in your face. And whats the point of back seats in those?! Only amputee's could sit behind me in one. Bugger. Oh well. Search continues.
  3. Wasnt refering to you boss. It was Anders very helpful comments, and the one that followed.
  4. People. Why do you think I said on first post to READ THE WHOLE FIRST POST! It has to be a new car.

    Monaro v8

Try driving before basing your judgements on vids alone. I own the Monaro's successor, and it's fantastic. I have also had the benefit of driving both the CV8 model and the VXR500 models. Both were crazy fun, and didnt suffer from any understeer at all. Bucket fulls of oversteer though! If you want more info on the Ro's, go to HSV.org.uk
  6. Even in its most basic form the Scirocco is £20k, and thats before you start going through the options list.
  7. Have to do it this way for financial reasons that I ain't going to go into. I've bought a car using this process before. Basically it will massively reduce my monthly outgoings on cars (by almost 70%). Also I have had zero interest in the Aussie V8 private sale, so looking at part-ex'ing.
  8. Great car, but looking at the Alfa OC, MPG isnt as good as published. We've just put in an order for the 2.0 JTDM2 140HP. We had one for test overnight and it was great. With Amanda booting it in the Zed, the Giulietta wasnt miles behind, its a great engine I found. We also got very good fuel consumption from it. Yeah, I spotted that on the OC too. Im taking a 1.4 lusso out for a drive tomorrow afternoon to see how I get on with it. How long they quoted you for delivery?
  9. I'd love one.....but I htink there's quite a long wait, and it's limited numbers anyway.
  10. I owned a Zed for 3 years! Boot space isnt an issue!
  11. It has to be a remotely good looking car. the CRZ just doesnt do it for me.
  12. READ ALL THIS POST BEFORE JUST REPLYING! I'm set to go from owning 2 cars, back down to 1 car. and since my insurance is about to sky rocket since my loss of NCB bonus, its time to be sensible....ish. I intend to buy it on a Personal Contract Purchase. ie - offset a Guarenteed minimum value of the car to pay in 3 years. Then either hand car back, or pay off, or part-ex any equity. This means it has to be a NEW car. and since it will be doing the 280 mils commute to work and back, its needs to be not too bad on fuel - say 35mpg min. £20k max The list of cars I like so far is worryingly short; Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4 multiair Volvo C30 R-Design 2.0 petrol ....and thats it! Any other suggestions? Remember it has to be a new car.
  13. It's a "DAMD Styling Effects" front nose.
  14. I'm pretty certain thats a guy from "the other forum" who's selling that, and he's pretty well respected so it should be a good buy provided it don't go for a stupidly high price.
  15. Great repair job, and good to see a Zed saved from the scrappers to live another day. Im not convinced about black wheels on a Custard Zed though.....
  16. Hi. 1. As said above. Front/Rear rotation not possible as the Zed has a staggered size (rears wider than fronts) 2. Its common practice for lots of dealers to disconnect batteries. If you felt there wasnt much "oomph" go test drive another one to compare. It could just be that you aint used to a heavier car (the MX5 is alot lighter) 3. The interior trim is prone to scratches. Get some cash knocked off.
  17. Vauxhall didn't "produce" the VXR8 though
  18. Dont worry dude I wasn't I realise I dug myself a bit of a hole with the fiesta post, (hindsight eh?), and was expecting a ribbing once the comparison had been drawn to my s/c thread.. an airsoft forum I'm on you always get these kids posting up how they have just started airsoft and then they post a thread asking how to make their gun be the most powerful/awesome when they dont even really know the sport yet! I have done that on here now, so if anyone was preparing to go nuts at me I was just saying I'd rather they do it via PM! Also, I know it doesn't exactly help my position, but one of the reasons I was asking about supercharger builds on the cheap is because the money I've budgeted to spend on the car is cut short by the money I've budgeted to spend on driver training days! Don't worry, give it a few months and my noob-ness will wear off! (by the way, I'm pretty young to own a Zed, and I'm sure that a lot of what I say and do is similar to the Chav owners you all despise, but I'm not a Chav, just an idiot!) Good save My comment to lock the thread wasnt aimed at you bud. Purely at the general theme of "350z vs [insert car here]" We dont want that kinda stuff on this forum unless it's track based. The OP got my back up a little - its all very well with "I never broke the law, never broke speed limit". But when going full throttle in what can only be decribed as a race.....well the drivers attention aint exactly on the surrounding is it? People are killed that way. This forum has lost a member in the past to that exact thing. As have 2 other people I know on forums in the past 4 years.....one of who was a friend.
  19. *shakes head* Im certain mods are already watching this thread... Lock before it degenerates into something this forum doesnt want to be associated with.
  20. Ah, I thought you were referring to the VX220 Turbo that wasnt the VXR model. (there is such a thing!)
  21. Lol, exactly thats why ive now got a Z. I was being serious. I have a VXR8.... C'MON, What about my VX220 turbo I've not long sold! Not a "VXR" though is it
