    40 Profile

viewtopic.php?f=60&t=52406 Page 3 of the tyre sub forum. 2 mins off effort, would have gained you a quicker response than posting up and waiting for someone to reply
  2. Zed's have an intelligent ECU......in the off chance that you did gain any power, it would only be for a few miles until the ECU worked out what was happening and dialed you back down again.
  3. It was on the year it came out Stew, not since.
  4. No requirement to rigidely attach VIN number to panels. It just has to be on the driver's side door well, the dashboard, and on the engine block.
  5. You need to create a car in the garage before you try to upload pics. I can see you haven;t done this yet, as you don't have a "garage" icon on your profile/posts. As for Induction Kits. They're good for noise, and look blingy in an engine bay. But they wont give you any more power or torque, in fact you would lose a couple of ponies. But it is highly unlikely you would notice the loss tbh.
  6. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=55272 No need to disconnect battery to reset. Use the guide here to do it. If you have the standard bose fitted, you don't need a Radio Code as it is effectively "married" to you cars ECU.
  7. Winter tyres wont save you if you hit a patch of ice. They ain't miracle cures that allow you to drive anywhere anytime. Sensible option would be to buy a £500 FWD shed to drive around in for the winter. It'd work out cheaper than a set of alloys and a set of winter rubber.
  8. ebay is a good place. You could also stick a wanted ad up on the forum, and keep an eye on the For Sale section.

    Nokian WRA3s

Never used them myself, but Nokians generally seem to get good reviews from the RWD saloon brigade (Lexus, Merc, BMW etc). You might struggle to get a set now though, leaving it this late! You cant get a set of Vredestein winter rubber for love nor money.
  10. You can get a set of standard OEM 18" alloys for around £200, of if you just wanted another set of rays then they go for around £500 a set.
  11. Remember the technically your exhaust system starts in te engine bay. Plenty of hot bits for bags to stick too!
  12. They paint commercial vans that colour green?!!?
  13. I think Dave was attempting humour. So far as I know, he has only ever owned his black Zed, and never a GT4 one in yellow. You should get the garage to provide a HPI check for your piece of mind regardless. And for future reference, you can do multiple quotes within the same reply. So no need to write 4 seperate replies in such a short space.
  14. The TT build that Abbey were planning on my HR engined Zed (same as yours) hit £19k before I pulled the plug. And that was using standard internals with a predicted HP value of around what you have got. We could do this cheaper now thou. Sorry, should have stated that this was back when HR kits where thin on the ground and no-one in the UK had done one

  16. Wow OK, looks like I've managed to get a lot of car for my money then! That really depends on how much you paid for it
  17. Do a Driver Training day. Quite a few trakcs run them (dont know if Knockhill do). Good find on the car, though I think the original add said it was number 40 something. Not number 1. If those wheels are original Volks TE37 and not copies, they are an added bonus.
  18. Troq is badly typed Torque. lol And AFR = Air/Fuel Ratio Great numbers. If this kit had been around when I had my Zed, I may have been tempted to keep it. As it stood, the TT route was gonna be just too expensive.
  19. How many hair products did you get as gifts Jay?! Happy Birthday kid!
  20. from a Poolie. Hoping to start doing the NE meets again around Feb time weather permitting. Keep an eye out for the meet by checking out the link in my sig pic.
  21. Depends on how much you drive. Zed's are thirsty cars, and you will only be returning 22-25mpg for mixed driving. If you get a pre-06 car tax will be cheaper.
  22. Moved your build here Chris viewtopic.php?f=176&t=56597 This is Anders thread after all
