Hi guys, after my mishap of getting locked out of my car, I thought I would finally introduce myself. I’m Alan and have a 08 HR, I’ve owned it nearly 6 years now and it’s currently sat on 130k miles and I had the gallery gaskets done on it approx 10k miles after noticing the drop in the oil pressure. I’ve attached my favourite pictures below for you guys to have a look 😁

Hi everyone, just an update, I managed to get in to the car this afternoon and now the battery is currently on charge. 🙌 thank you for your suggestions guys, if anyone ever gets a similar problem where the battery dies and the mechanism breaks on the driver door to unlock it with the key (what are the chances) and you can’t access the car at all, give me a shout and I will tell you what I did. I do have a kit to get into the car ive used the little air bag to pull the glass away from the body and pressed all buttons including pulling the handles on the inside but nothing. I can see the boot release tab so i will try that. sorry i should of explained i have a kit to gain entry but everything ive done so far hasnt worked.

If its mechanical and should work im guessing the barrel has failed? Do you know how the little silver switch in the picture below works? ive managed to push them into the unlock position on both sides but still cant get in? I can also see the boot release tab so im going to see if i can hook that tomorrow and climb on through the boot to open the bonnet but if that fails i will try your method and hopefully gain entry to the bonnet that way. Thank You

I used the key in the barrel not to long ago, so i want to say no unless it has gone and failed since then? ive also sprayed lube in there to see if that worked but it didn't, but thank you for your reply

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum but owned my Z for a while now, i take my car off the road in winter and this time round i forgot to remove battery (Silly me) or keep the bonnet open on the latch so i could get in if needed. I was going out to my car once a week to turn it on for abit but within the last couple of weeks i haven't had the chance to look it over and now the battery has gone dead! i know the alarm system has heavy battery usage, so im guessing this is what has caused it to go flat and i am unable to get in the car. I have manually inserted the key in to the drivers door to unlock it and it does nothing, ive also managed to get in behind the glass on both Driver and Passenger with a rod and press the switch to the unlock position but still nothing. Ive tried to get the bar with the hook down to the bonnet release but unfortunately cant locate it because i am unable to see where it is. I just want to know if anyone else has had the same problem and managed to get in? any ideas guys on what i could do before lunching a brick through the window haha. Thanks
