Am a new 350z owner. Have beginnings of bubbling in nearside rear, and more established bubbling at from nearside front . Took rear wheels off today and noticed that grit etc was being held under the band, which had lifted. The offside band was still fully attached but I could see the beginnings of issue.
Not sure what the band is for other than to smooth out a thin edge to help prevent rust, though it is actually now causing the problem. Was contemplating removing it, in order that I can ensure full coverage with Kurust and then add either lanoguard type product of stone chip.
Have read a previous post that, unlike the front, there is not a complete plastic cover for the rear, though there is a gap between the arch and the cover is causing the issue at the front.
the attached photo is before I ran a braddle fully underneath and realised it was a band which was loose.
thanks in advance for responses.
