Does one on one side work fine, or would two on both sides be preferred?
-
Hi, does anyone sell or know who sells refurbed starter motors for a 2006 350Z? Thanks

Hi everyone, Although i've really enjoyed rebuilding the engine and documenting it in this forum and really enjoyed the local meets we've had, it's with a very heavy heart i'm selling it. A house move and lack of driving it has forced my hand. I've advertised it Autotrader with a full description and photos for £7,995 if anyone is interested or knows anyone that is. It's fair to say, the engine is as new and the bodywork is pretty solid too. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202408193052444?advertising-location=at_cars&atmobcid=soc5&fromsra&make=Nissan&model=350 Z&sort=distance&year-to=2024 I'm not on facebook, but if anyone is, I'd really appreciate the link being shared 🙂 Don't worry, once everything is settled down, i'll be back with a new Winter project!!

As long as good quality 5w30 fully synthetic oil for petrol engines, it should be fine IMO.

I eventually got round to fitting my catch can this morning which was simpler then I expected. If anyone has a moment could they look at the pics below and confirm it's plumbed in right?

Could try wrapping some foil around the terminals as a cheap fix -

When you both know you're going to floor it

That's what I was trying to get across, Z's are really great fun to drive 🙂 -
Recommended garage for Service and touch up paintwork
Cosmic73 replied to P2ul's topic in 350Z General
I local garage just quoted me £2k to do the bonnet & front bumper, £1k of that is just for the paint itself. I just don't see how a few litres of paint can cost £1k -
Driving home from work yesterday in the Z i became aware of an RS4 suddenly looming in my rear view mirror. I was driving through a village with a 40 limit at the time which give me time to ponder what to do when the road opens up again: A. Take the moral high ground and do 50 and watch the RS disappear in the distance B. Drop to 3rd and totally floor it I knew that he knew that I knew we would both floor it. Jesus, the Z is seriously fast! It's like instantly away and it's fair to say the RS kept up but not around the bends. A lively drive home that brightened up an otherwise dull commute 🙂

310 ponies and relatively constant torque curve, not bad IMO

Second that, great day out that myself and my son really enjoyed. Thanks for arranging Dave 👍

Has anyone a spare coil pack they take to this meet and sell me? I'm pretty sure one of mine is on the way out
-
My Z now has 500 miles on it and runs really sweet........ Until this morning where I parked up and restarted the engine. Suddenly it's running rough with a P0305 code. Managed to drive it home and waited for the engine to cool down, Swapped pack 5 and 3 around expecting the error to jump cyl 3, but it's running sweet again. How strange is that?

Random/ multiple misfire after battery change

If you've dextrose fingers and/or long nosed pliers, you may be able to unclip each coil pack clip in turn -

Where abouts are you? -
Glad that all ended well. Funny how it wouldn't jump start tho. Maybe the vw van was newish and had smart charging system so played funny buggers when connected to something else.

I felt like a monkey, pressing random keys on a type writer, but it seems to have worked. Idle has now dropped from 950rpm to 750rpm. Not sure if that's right but it's better then it was.
-
So it moves itself during the process and you need to hear the sound of it to know it worked?
-
Anyone know what this means? My car is idling 950rpm and I'm looking to reset the throttle. How is it possible to move the throttle valve when it's inside the throttle body?
-
If its reasonably rust free underneath and drives ok, £1.5k is a bargain for a 41k milage Z. Spend £1k or 2 on bodywork and it's worth at least twice what it owes you all day long imo.

Cheers Glen, £1000 + parts is a lot. The good news is my day job is designing gearboxes so I'm reasonably confident I can do the repairs myself. Just need to find the parts!

Totally agree 👍

Hey Glen, what a great post, your Z is punching well above it's weight. My gearbox crunches in 5th so I'm going to replace it's synchro ring when I get the time. Did you fix your gearbox yourself or send it to a specialist?
