Paul - I'm considering transferring one of my "on retention" plates onto my 370Z Nismo. The likely option is just five characters like yours, enabling a reduced width plate. Not a problem with the rear, but my current full size front plate sits within the standard plinth. How have you fixed yours? I can't quite make it out from the photo. Looks good by the way...

Apologies - noob alert - can you expand please on the benefits of this and what's actually being improved, how and at what cost?

I look back and think how slack MOT tests could be in the 80s and 90s, prior to the internet and automation. I recall several MOT test stations that would turn a blind eye on faults for a few quid to those they knew well (that didn't include me btw!).

In "normal" times, are there any regular monthly unofficial meets in Surrey or Sussex?

I suppose that if this car's a keeper for a good few years that sort of lessens the blow of this unplanned expenditure. As you've said, some things will have needed doing anyway over the time you might keep it.

Anyone here attend the Bromley Pageant? Been for a few years previously (pre-370Z life) with BMWCC GB or just as one make parking. Wondering if there's an organized Z attendance for it.

Despite being stuff that would need changing at some point anyway, I'd say it's the principle of finding out how it was allowed to pass. Did the selling garage not give you any form of warranty? Don't be afraid of being a PITA to them.

What mods? Not a lot really. Short tail exhaust (but need to hear a few examples for real, I don't want obnoxiously loud), roof wrapped gloss black, rear window heavily tinted, rear wiper delete. Hope you're enjoying yours as much as I am mine. 😀

Morning all, two weeks in to Nismo ownership here and so pleased that I went a bit 'off grid' with buying this car. Never owned a two seater before as, believe it or not, very few appeal to me. It's not a daily so it didn't need to be practical for real world driving fortunately. I was looking for something different and was scrolling through all the sporty stuff by all makers on Autotrader and this popped up - the rest is history now! December 2017, one owner, 16k miles and virtually mint condition (aside from a few small stone chips on the lower front). It was due its P1 oil service at point of sale so last week it went into Abbey Motorsport for that and a thorough check over and an 'all clear'. A few mods in mind, so I'll need to do some research there - roll on (non-lockdown) summer!
