Hi Zane, I would try the MAF again just in case, then clearing the codes and following the ECU and TB reset process. What you're describing sounds MAF or Throttle Body related.

The main change in sound will be from the cats and the backbox, most Y-Pipes on the market are exactly the same design as standard and will not have much effect on the sound.
