  1. https://youtu.be/cxSSlxDTBWM I’ve inserted a link to the rather entertaining promotional video displaying their 12 month claim, based on the premise of washing twice monthly. Real life results would also back this up, provided people know how to maintain their paint properly. I’m not a Soft99 fanboy (I’ve only only used King of Gloss) but I feel I should interject when the durability is questioned without basis. Reason being as above, it’s fluorine based and synthetic rather than naturally occurring wax products. Having said that, as we’ve all said above, if you’re going to the effort and expense to have your car professionally detailed then get it ceramic coated. If they’re only offering Fusso then I would question if they’re just a “£150 quick mop” operation or if it’s just their lowest package.
  2. People rave about it, PTFE based so very good water repellency properties and lasts about 12 months. Not the best in their range for gloss so it depends on what you’re looking for. If ceramic is off the cards it’s the next best thing for durability.
  3. I’m expecting a full review of this! Sounds right down your street. I’ve got too many chemicals to change system myself, just bought another 5L of snow foam.
  4. Once they stop taxing cars for CO2 and NOx emissions they will start taxing them for iron and rubber particles emitted from brakes and tyres respectively. Something which is also present on electrical cars. These are much larger in diameter than exhaust emissions particles and somewhat as harmful towards air quality. So I expect to see the tax system changed to this by the time we’re all supposed to be electric. No escaping it unfortunately and of course it will all be our fault for driving electric cars then (despite people trying to be green and following government recommendations/tax incentives).
  5. The car sounds and looks great! I've been following this thread since I joined the forums
  6. Luckily the Koch compounds aren't too dusty. Some did get onto the plastics but I brushed it off. Saving a proper engine bay clean for another day
  7. Most touches like that are probably wasted on people who have grown up with 350Z onwards. There were still comments about DE vs HR in the live stream it was hilarious. At least it drew a wide audience as they clearly weren’t all Z fanatics.
  8. Took to this task myself today as my headlights were starting to get hazy. I used Koch Chemie H9.01 on a DA polisher and it all went after one test pass. There are still some fine scratches but as with all thing detailing wise, I got the results I wanted so thought I’d call it a day as I’d managed to avoid wet sanding. Followed up with Koch Chemie M3.02 which didn’t do much as they were already pretty much crystal clear. Just in between coats of Carbon Collective Platinum Trim. I’ll report back on how well it does and how long it lasts but it claims UV protection for up to two years. Before and after is below.
  9. Nice motor, look forward to seeing it around Cambridge some day!
  10. Stayed up last night foolishly to watch the live stream of the reveal. There was a great buzz about the car initially but the questions got stupid and the MC was annoying so I turned it off after half an hour. Who would have thought we would live in an age where there's such a hype about a manual gearbox (and a manual handbrake for that matter) in a sports car no less! However, I'm glad they kept it in and it could differentiate the car for some buyers. Shame that it's not coming to Europe but understandable, still leaves imports as an option for the serious buyers. Maybe that's something I'd look at in 5-7 years time when I'd look to buy, depending on residual values. My opinions on the looks, not a fan of the black roof but I'm sure that could be an option (I'd rather all yellow but I'm biased). I'd be interested to hear how much carbon is in the car and what the weight figure is. Only issue witht the back end was the wonky Fairlady Z badge for me but I could live with that and presumably is a tribute to a previous Z. Front end reminds me of an Aston Martin, which is a good thing. Massive bonnet and nice flare on the wheel arches. The front grille just looks a bit too happy for me, maybe needs some more curves/angles but nothing too aggressive. Wheels looked alright but there are plenty of aftermarket options anyway, more important would be getting lightweight forged wheels as standard. As for the engine, if it is the VR30DETT then it should come with great BHP for UK roads, further tuning potential plus a swathe of aftermarket parts already so enough to future proof it. I was really looking forward to seeing one in a UK showroom and maybe test driving it but maybe that was wishful thinking.
  11. What a great choice of replacement car, also nice to hear that you've had 15 years of enjoyment out of your Z.
  12. Following this thread having seen your Facebook post. Quite reassuring to see a 15 year old shell containing solid metal
  13. She's a real beauty, already looks great in that colour!
  14. Yeah, well said! The only thing they could check is what previous cars you have been insured on. In my experience, insurance companies tend to be pedantic enough to do this.
  15. I’m nearly 30 and had my license for years and I couldn’t even get insured for a test drive when buying my Z. Once I bought it, I wanted to declare the mods so rang Flux, Greenlight, Brentacre etc and I could only get a quote with Flux which was reasonable. The rest wanted 1yr RWD experience... where do you draw the line? I’ve driven some Beamers without randomly spinning out but never owned one. Does having driven a 118i really help with a 350Z I’m just taking the hit for the first year but maybe you could go down that path, mine never specified “powerful/performance”. Maybe I’ll get some better quotes on renewal, I don’t daily the car so the miles aren’t that high.
  16. That’s a beauty! Great colour all round
  17. Welcome, I’ll keep an eye out for you when I’m in the area!!
  18. If comfort is a major concern then I'd say Volvos are worth a punt, used market has plenty of S/V60s and S/V40s. Seats are always very comfy and if you avoid R Design (sportier suspension) trim then you should be alright. If diesel is your thing then there are loads of high mileage examples to boot and they tend to go on for quite a while, just avoid any 1.6D and try to get a five cylinder over the newer with four if you can. Just my 2 cents, I have a daily Volvo and can sit in it for 3-5 hours without stopping. Friends have commented on the seat comfort.
  19. That is very, very glossy Inspiring me to machine mine. I suppose now you can enjoy driving and showing it off.
  20. Thank you @ilogikal1 I found some on eBay for £10 a ball! I think I’ll have some spare Platinum Wheels to coat mine with afterwards.
  21. Thought you might have been him with the car in your thumbnail as well. Ignore my last two points I suppose. I wonder if those Mother’s polishing balls are really worth £20-30 or if there’s a cheaper alternative.
  22. @Umster are you the Guru himself? If so: I followed you here from C30s as well Nice YT channel, keep up the hard work
  23. I think the technical term is it’s a sh**hole. Been voted UK’s worst town a few time. Topped the list in the book “Crap Towns 2” if I recall correctly. No idea why it’s so bad. Most people just go there for the airport which, to be fair, isn’t bad. Then again, I had to drive my Zed to Bradford yesterday so.....
