I've never been on a drag strip but I was impressed at her launches after the first couple, and the times. I saw it via Adam's channel I think...

You'll never be able to attend a track day... I had a full custom 3" exhaust with resonator centre and 'Jap can' style rear straight through 'silencer' with sports cats and headers built last year and it was around 120db before I had it changed to a chambered rear silencer. Think it maxes around 102db now, and I'm looking to change the centre section to a chambered unit as well. On the original question RE MOT it's down to tester's opinion, same with Police - if you get stopped and issued a ticket, I don't think you can argue it.

There must be something wrong with those cats.... I've read that 200 cell cats have probably less than 1hp restriction on our engines. It's only once you get to 1000-1500hp they become worth worrying about. Online articles I studied were lab tests on american V8s and also another smaller engined car with OEM cats vs 200 cell vs no cats. So it sounds to me like maybe one of them has dislodged and is blocking flow drastically. I hit 269hp@6800rpm @ hubs on my 04 DE with headers (your HR has very good headers stock), 3" exhaust, 3x 200 cell cats, full intake and Kinetix Velocity plenum - stock cams. I'd be expecting 290-295 whp from an HR with say 270 deg cams, exhaust, sports cats. On Abbey's hub dyno maybe even 300 @ hubs. I'm really really interested in that battery as well - been looking at them but like you say, everything that fits the spec seemed to be £700-900.

Their oil is normally way overpriced vs other online retailers. Half price is obvs a good deal if they have the oil you want though. Pity I just did the entire family!

Does look different to WV2 to me.

That would be correct according to this:

Great colour - hola from Ipswich

Got those tyres on my E90 325i - looked at several group tests and where far and away the best value @ ~£68 a tyre for the 225/45/17 runflats I needed. I'd strongly recommended them. Not going to be quite as good as a Yoko V105, AD08, Michelin Pilot Sport/Super Sport/Cup etc but for the money is a really good tyre by all accounts. One thing I did notice on mine on the BMW, whether that's due to being runflats... they were INCREDIBLY hard for the first couple of weeks. Checked pressures and they've not dropped but they're good now.

Must have been a mistake - now double that price now only 20% off 'usual price' for all Meguiar's products

In love with Temper/Solar Orange HRs

350z Best tyre pad combo for trackdays.
msitpro replied to Roscoe's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Pretty sure the Yoko A052 is the highest performance tyre available in UK while still road legal? Bloody expensive though... AD08R might be the next best. Maybe look into Nankang AR-1 ? Think they're available in different wear ratings? -
My 350z Race Car Project from Velociraptor Racing

So when are you painting the undertray? ... My Z Speed one had pretty bad aluminium corrosion after less than a year. That exhaust build quality is delicious. How would you rate the noise/sound? How large is the diameter of each branch? How's the loudness? -
Doesn't look too bad in this lighting from the back - awaiting respray once bodyshop get back to full force. Currently bodywork in bad or primer state. Will also be adding CS Bottomline style add-on skirts.... should really do a build thread
-
Absolutely sick - looks great on a black car.

The bodyshop I am using (extremely reputable) has said 'choose a colour and as long as it's not mica particle based then it should fit in the quote I've given you' (which is extremely considerable)

You'll be around 245-250whp currently. Roughly 287-295bhp, just shy of a stock HR. (306bhp) Equal length tubular headers like those on the HR (see DC sports) will take it to around 265-270whp with tune. About the same as a stock 370Z makes and about 15whp up on a stock HR on a dyno. Roughly 305-315bhp. Around £1200 all in job if you're paying for labour on top of parts. 264°-272° cams will see it to 290-305whp, roughly 330-350bhp. I guess £2000 for parts, labour and tuning. Porting would then be worthwhile, opening the lower plenum collector and optimising the intake ports in the heads. Stock HR heads flow slightly better than the DE, but can be made better than stock HR after a good port job by somebody that knows what they're doing. That might see 310-320whp. Roughly 365-375 bhp. Although, to realise the most benefit from the cams and head work, you'd need to be prepared to wring it out to 7.2k+ I suspect... Which isn't advised on a stock DE supposedly. (Rods, rod bolts and oil pump failures) I'm one step ahead of you, with the same mods but with headers and a Kinetix plenum instead of the spacer and hit 270 @ hubs.... At 6800rpm, which is really high for a DE without cams. I've had redline set to 7100 currently. If you or I went for cams, I would expect the peak power to then be pushed to 7200rpm-7500rpm mark, plus it'll still make power after that. Something I'd need to change rods, rod bolts and oil pump for.

The banana yellow colour on the LC is awesome IMO... In addition to Structural Blue (I know the paint name as I'm considering it for my Z!)
-
Lexus LC That is all.

I've changed oil in 4 cars across the family so far - 2 more to go.... all with a wash and wax and some half-arsed de-contamination of paint after. (when they don't even WASH the car for 2 years it's a bit of a long painful process!)

LOL my first reaction from reading it was 'are you mad' ?

Based on my experience, 9.5 +15 front / 10.5 +15 should be perfect for standard arches. With 255/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear. Both tyres will look very slightly stretched. You'll want probably 1.5-2 degrees of camber to tuck the tops in and for best handling. (adjustable upper control arms recommended) I'm running Advan TC-4s 10.0x18 +25 front and back with 265/35/18 & 285/35/18. The inside of my front wheel is about 3-4 millimetres from the wheel knuckle (slight tyre stretch - wheel is 11"/279mm wide edge to edge). The rear tyre is really tight to the arch lip and ideally needs the arch lip removed to get modestly low, or lower for track. Thankfully I'll get the lip/step removed when I have a respray imminently which will allow the tyre to tuck just inside if suspension compresses enough.

If you do decide you want one, let me know what you can offer for mine (inc delivery) that's collecting dust. I could deliver to you most likely, during 'normal' times I would pass NE London often.
