  1. @Bry those wheels are awesome I'd love to have a multi piece set of Kiwami's if I had the funds. Gunmetal/GT silver centres and chrome lips are simply stunning!
  2. @HEADPHONES haha cheers mate, means alot! I occasionally have second thoughts about the wheels but after these photos I think I made the right decision
  3. @Bry I received a prohibition notice for the car due to the sunstrip and some brake light modules that I fitted ages ago. They made the outer 2 brake lights flash for less than 1 second before being held constant. The car went through an MOT with these fitted no problem but a motorway officer deemed it 'dangerous' and removed my car from the road. My local MOT station thought it was a bit excessive and didn't think the sunstrip and stickers were dangerous at all due to them mostly being placed over the passenger side of the windscreen, hence them still being fitted. With regards to the plates, all I did was super glue about 10 neodymium magnets (12mm diameter, 3mm depth) to the back of the plate and then put a layer of duct tape over to help secure them. Then I just held the plate against the bumper in the position I wanted it and placed magnets behind the bumper and allowed them to snap into place. Once I'd put 10 magnets on the bumper I secured those with super glue and duct tape as well. The first time I fitted the plates I only used super glue but after a while the glue dried out and the occasional magnet would drop off, hence the layer of duct tape. The impact sensors have just been cable tied to the lower aluminium cross member. Probably not the best way to do it and I probably will do it better at some point, I just haven't got round to it yet!
  4. @davey_83 Cheers mate! Loving the way it looks now! I purchased the wheels second hand through JDMDistro and they never came with Centre caps unfortunately. I might purchase a set in the future but £60 ish is a bit excessive for some plastic imo
  5. Pic heavy post inbound! 6 weeks later and i FINALLY have the prohibition notice lifted and i can once again use the car! Managed to pop out this afternoon and grab a few photos of the car with the new lips fitted. I've also now gone out and bought another push bike so the brackets for the brides have been pushed back another month... I promise they'll get fitted soon (i hope)
  6. 40mm is fairly aggressive spacer wise. I imagine you didn't notice the rubbing due to being at stock height but that'll definitely cause some interference with the arches (most likely the inner lip of the rear bumper, next to where it attaches to the rear quarter). A 40mm spacer on stock rays is only 5mm less aggressive than when i used to have my Aodhan's with a 25mm spacer and i had to trim the bumper quite a lot to stop it all rubbing! Double check the cam bolts at the inner edge of the spring bucket and the camber arm. I doubt they'd of shifted though as mine were crazy stiff to adjust last time i had an alignment Pic of mine with the Aodhan's. This was after i removed a good 10mm of rear bumper plastic just to stop it rubbing! Imo the only fault i can imagine is the spacers. Something like a 25mm would be much more suitable unless you fancy trimming bits off the car to get the fitment perfect
  7. Lunch is a maybe for me as well as I'll no doubt be there a fair bit earlier than you folks and grabbing a small bite and drink for breakfast I'll see how the day takes me though so i may still be there around lunchtime, I'm not too sure
  8. Looking at the route I may meet you lot there as well actually seeing at I'm coming from Bristol. Hopefully I spot you all en route once I get off the M40 and pop down the A429 I've only visited at lunch time before. Does anyone know how busy it is likely to be down there at 10:00 ish?
  9. My car will FINALLY be back on the road this weekend (pending passing its MOT ) so I'll be up for popping along. No doubt I may end up taking a detour dependant on the bumpiness of the roads 1. davey_83 2. 14N 3. Andy_Muxlow +1 maybe 4. SHEZZA +1 maybe 5. AntelopeSam 6. Justthejedi 7. Buster +1 8. 10. I like to avoid the problem of mis-matched expensive & cheap tyres by ensuring my car only has the cheapest of cheap chingchangchongs on all round at all times
  11. @HEADPHONES it always amazes me when I see people from America on Instagram and the likes saying about how they've just bought their 350/370 as their first car! Not a chance that'd happen here. $250-$300 per month on insurance seems like the norm to them. Not a chance I'd pay that!
  12. Their stuff is simply stunning. Never thought I'd go down the widebody route but I think I'm going to have to get their 370 kit sometime soon! Lovely stuff
  13. Error is very minimal to the point i wouldn't even worry. Pop the stock wheel specs and the wheel specs that you are considering into willtheyfit.com and it'll tell you difference in a percentage and mph at 30 & 60.
  14. @SiriusProjects That roof spoiler is a nice little addition, i like it!
  15. @V1H That is an unbelievably helpful bit of information! That will save me a tonne of time working out how to get around the occupancy sensor when i pop my Bride's in! Thanks a lot mate Awesome write up as per usual.
  16. That's exactly the reason we're taking hers I'd love to take mine but it's just asking for trouble. I'd probably struggle to even get it on the train, let alone the rest of the trip...
  17. Ah that's perfect! Cheers for the help guys! @nissanman312 @stanski Should be an awesome trip
  18. Exactly what i wanted to hear! I was only concerned with the fact that none of the parts fitted are TÜV approved. But figured this probably wasn't too great on an issue given the parts fitted to most track cars visiting the ring.
  19. Hi All, Just after a bit of advice from anyone that has driven their modified car through Germany. On the 3rd of August me and my girlfriend are taking her (slightly) modified GT86 on a 2 week EU road trip and one of the countries we are driving through is Germany. I've checked the requirements for the countries we are visiting and already have everything we need to carry (triangle, high vis, breathalyser, Swiss Motorway Pass etc.) but I've heard a few horror stories about driving through Germany with their strict rules on modified cars. However, most of these stories relate to cars with crazy camber, stretch and all sorts. Her car is almost stock. It only has a set of Calibre Suzuka wheels (with correctly sized tyres), 25mm wheel spacers and Meister R Coilovers. Do you guys think we have anything to worry about? Hopefully I'm just over-thinking this but i really don't want to get stranded miles from home as the car has been seized for some ridiculous reason. (I watched a documentary where a guy had his basically bone stock Octavia VRS seized for wheel spacers...) Any help would be HUGELY appreciated. Cheers
  20. @nissanman312 May be able to help. I know he has an air to air upgrade on his Stillen Supercharger (i think he has a topgunz kit from memory).
  21. An awful incident that, as said, could have been completely avoided No idea why people feel the need to a) drive so fast outside a car show/meet and b) stand so close the road when cars are driving at such speeds... That said, hope they all make a full and speedy recovery!
