  1. I thought I'd start a little build log for my latest car, a 2005 Z33 35th Anniversary edition (I believe) that I picked up on Sunday. I've already bought a few upgrades for it and will try to keep this up to date with my progress as I get back on track after 5+ years of missing it. Anyway, (as I mentioned in my introduction thread) I bought this Fairlady Z fairly cheap because it is a little rough around the edges and so hopefully I won't end up getting precious about it. The reason I got it was to drive hard and so I have to keep telling myself that! That's how the car sat when I got it home. I did some digging around in an attempt to find out the original spec of it (I'm always curious about this for some reason) and I found out it was a 35th Anniversary Edition. according to http://nissan.epc-data.com "02/2005 35th Anniversary with ETC system (toll card), 35th Anniversary high rev engine related items, 35th Anniversary special seats & TV Nav system" The first thing I ordered was all new fluids and filters from Opie Oils so I can service it this weekend. Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-30 Nissan Oil Filter RED LINE High Performance Synthetic MT-85 75W85 GL-4 Gear Oil RED LINE Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90 GL5 Motul RBF 660 I then went to see my old colleagues at Driftworks and picked up some goodies... HSD Mono Pro coilovers, steering wheel, boss and quick release along with gear knob. I always replace the stock wheel and gear knob in cars since I like to get them feeling just right (i.e. the same as all the cars I own :D) Gearknob fitted - it's pretty heavy but works great for me. Today I installed the NRG short hub, Quick Release gen 2.8 and Nardi Classic 340mm with perforated leather. I was really unsure about the wheel because I usually prefer the Deep Corn 350mm but that has an 80mm offset so would be too close to me with the qr boss. This worked out perfect in terms of reach and the car drives great with the 340mm wheel! I should add that I think I'll need the QR to aid with getting in and out of a fixed back bucket seat since I'm not the smallest chap! Whilst I was at Driftworks I also ordered a KAAZ 2 way LSD which arrived with them yesterday. I'm just waiting to get it booked in with DW neighbour, Dynotorque. Hopefully Craig can install it for me next week before my first drift day with the car on the 28th at Rockingham. I also bought a Corbeau Pro Series 1 XL seat from Grand Prix Racewear which should arrive tomorrow (couldn't fit it in the Z33 with a passenger!). Then today I ordered a Buddy Club seat rail, Hel braided clutch hose and D1 Spec GT Drive throttle controller from @Tarmac@TarmacSportz. I'm a bit dubious about the throttle controller but since it is advertised as removing the throttle limiter in 1st, 2nd 3rd gear that may actually be helpful when drifting so I'll give it a try. I'm currently on the look out for some wheels, and have my heart set on some Enkei NT03s (there are some for sale on here but I'm waiting for a PM - otherwise I'll have to order some from the states). I also have the option of 2 pairs of Work Emotion CR wheels, black and white, but it's not exactly what I was after - although they are available and reasonably priced. After that will be a new clutch/flywheel which I think I'll go for a Nismo Coppermix if I can source one easily enough. I also want to get a nice exhaust since the VQ35 sounds ace! Currently weighing up my options and looking at some single exit systems but not liking the prices so much! Tomei Expreme Ti is amazing... but I may have to find a cheaper alternative!
  2. It's already started. Bought coilovers and a 2 way diff along with new steering wheel and gearknob yesterday! :0
  3. Did some digging and it seems mine is a 35th Anniversary edition according to http://nissan.epc-data.com 02/2005 35th Anniversary with ETC system (toll card), 35th Anniversary high rev engine related items, 35th Anniversary special seats & TV Nav system
  4. Thanks for the welcome everyone! I don't believe it is - there is no plaque. It's an import and I believe 2005 so is it possible that it is a 35th Anniversary edition? I'm still trying to work out all things Z! Is there a way to decode the VIN plate to understand options/manufacture date etc? I'll do some searching
  5. I picked up a 2005 350Z (import) today that I'll be using for drift/track days and am hoping to get my hands dirty fitting some upgrades as I see fit. Thought I'd say a quick hi, I'll be using this forum everytime I need to look something up! As it sits now...
