  1. I find all can be made better with the addition of horsepower. To make sure of no mistakes, let me know the PayPal address and cost with shipping to Leicestershire, and I'll send it. Cheers!
  2. Are any of these kits still available? It's been a rough month and I'm feeling ready for some parts therapy...
  3. Ok, so it's at it again. Similar symptoms, 4500-5000rpm rev limiting. Less abrupt feeling than the first time. Either my familiarity with the event, or in the dry there's less wheel slip occurring as the torque spikes. Investigation is ongoing, but a clean and check of the crank sensor seems to have had no effect. Next step is to refit the oem cats and continue with tidying it up. Might consider a crank sensor change, but until the issue is chronic, it'd be impossible to tell if it fixed it. I'll update with any new info when I have it.
  4. Just a quick update, it's not yet done it again. Which is simultaneously excellent and terrifying. Should it ever return, I'll bump with the solution...
  5. Posting here as the tech forum is very quiet... I have a uk '03, 115k, generally in good mechanical shape. I changed the clutch last weekend at a friends place and due to rot on the exhaust I fitted a Scorpion Y pipe and some generic sports cats while doing so. Test driving afterwards I was slowly adding load and came to a point where I was stretching it out. In third and fourth at 4500 rpm at high throttle angles I hit a rev limiter. A harsh sudden and complete power cut, not the slurring power reduction of an ASC event. It was concerning as it put huge driveline shunt into a brand new clutch. However it seems to be ok... I came back, shut down, restarted revved in neutral and it span to beyond 4500 happily. So, I drove home later and the problem had gone. I'm yet to see it happening again, but I commute in other cars or on foot, I'm hoping to test today. So far I've checked the intake and exhaust for leaks and nothing found. No stored DTCs in the ecu either. I'm thinking of taking it in to see if there's any stored abs system faults, but might be a few days before I can. My suspicion is an electrical fault, anything on the air management side capable of causing a hard stop on the rpm at 4500 would manifest in other ways too, and currently it starts and idles fine. I found some old posts mentioning vaguely similar situations, but no solid conclusions. Has anyone seen this before? Or any thoughts on what might be happening?
  6. Went for a Scorpion. Found a deal on eBay, so snapped it up. Glad the rotten old box can be binned, it's coughing out chunks of perforated sheet. Y pipe might come later, it's pretty much permanently fixed to the cats, so I'll leave it for when I've got the right level of masochism for it.
  7. Excellent, cheers guys. Managed to find a couple of threads here through google instead of the search function which echo the above. Seems the K2 and the TS are similar to the Nismo in layout. I'll check out those clips too, it's a little tricky to judge loudness, phone mics tend to be self levelling, but the tone might be useful. I think this is a case of buying right, I like the slip joints on the scorpion setup, makes assembly loads quicker. I'll keep an eye on the Marketplace forum...
  8. Apologies for repeating any old threads, but there's not much here coming back with a Toyosport search. I'm considering a new pipe, primarily because the OE system is rotten. I've had to butcher it off to get the floor waxoyled and the clutch changed. It's together, but the flanges are chiselled and stuff. I would prefer to replace with stainless, much of the OE seems to be mild or stain resistant, for longevity and ease of work. However, I don't want loud, I like to press on a bit and I want to keep a low profile while I'm pushing it. I've read the scorpion pipe isn't too hectic, anyone know how the Toyosport compares? I have some Toyo parts on a mk3 MR2 and they went on well, so I'm tempted by their exhaust. Otherwise, might go for OE with a lot of marine grade fixings...
  9. Those discs are only 800... Yep, it's a project, and deliberately so. I didn't buy cheap to save money as such, but because I have more fun in cheap cars. I don't want to worry about a pristine thing, just get in and have some fun. I'll be DIY all the way. I work for an OEM, so when needed I can access a workshop, but I'll mostly be in my garage. Sold the car this is replacing today, so shopping for bits soon, tyres, bearings and brakes. Maybe a rowdy filter.
  10. Checking in as a new owner of a 350Z. I might have bought the cheapest UK manual on sale at 3300. What could possibly go wrong?! Well it threw a Mil, a TCS light and the nearside rear bearing on the drive home... And the clutch is paper thin, discs are older than moses and arches are rotten. I'm planning to tidy it up, make some chassis improvements and have some fun in it. If I reply slow, it's because my work blocks access here...
