Few Busy Weekends on the 350! Total of 20hrs last weekend and 14hrs this weekend spent working on the car! Shakedown at Anglesey is fast approaching (Feb 12) but all is nearly done. Just waiting on my tyre supplier to get the AD08Rs back in stock. Complete service, gear/diff/engine oils, all filters, plugs and belts... We then took the Brembo Callipers to bits and serviced each one whilst replacing for HC Brembo discs, EBC Orange pads, Braided Lines and ATE fluid... Teins and Wheel spacers next. Then it was on to Interior fettling>> Motordrive Seats, M2 rails, Turn One harnesses, GCF Harness bar (properly lovely item, very happy with it) and collecting my new 330mm Suede wheel tonight>> And a few pics of the Nissan at Blyton... Still have to fit the new steering wheel, Mines lip, tyres and geo to get sorted before Anglesey then it's back to Blyton the weekend after to so i can compare lap times with my first outing . Be nice to see the difference! Is there a way to move this post into members projects? I would like to keep it up to date if thats ok .

Thanks Dan, Sure thing, ATE 200 fluid and braided lines are used on all my track cars inc 350Z . Got new High Carbon Brembo discs all round now too. Yeah it was the day after i bought the 350z and I didn't expect them to last well but after 3 sessions i was shocked. Blyton Park is very hard on brakes though. At least i have a few UK track days to gauge from!

Thanks Rob, I guess there is only one way to find out!! Haha can't believe you just said that! Currently mocking up some template air duct chambers to be housed where the reflectors normally sit on the front bumper .

Hi Guys, Just a quick question regarding consumable wear when using the 350z on track... Obviously this depends on the tyre and brake choice, and not forgetting individual driving style but does anyone have any experience with AD08Rs and EBC Orange stuff pads on a 350z in particular? The Orange stuff are now in their second gen as the first gen wore too quickly and the AD08Rs I have had on other cars have lasted very well.... but these cars have all been much lighter than a 350z. I have two track days and a 10 day trip to Nurburgring coming up and don't want to be a few days in to the Nur trip and realise i have toasted a set of pads (although i will be taking spare set of back up pads just in case)! I did turn a set of oem spec pads into charcoal in 3 sessions at blyton a few weeks ago haha! Thanks in advance!

Hi, New 350z owner needing a little advice.

Have you checked your oil level now? I am sure you or the mechanic must of? The problems occuring would make sense if when you had it serviced last they may of not have put enough new oil back in the motor (we all know how much of a sh#t that dipstick is to read). -
Brilliant! I did expect there to be a good group of 'track dayers' on here given the type of car . I am only round the corner from Oulton

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Few more bits ordered today inc mines front lip and suede personal steering wheel, lot's of prep to do for the Anglesey Track day in a few weeks (Feb 12th). If any of you are there or near by do come and say hello, more than happy to have a few passengers too, see what you think of the setup as i am eager to see how the orange stuff cope along with the other mods . Hi Adrian, Really interested in a 4.36 Final Drive and diff rebuild kit. Is this something you could PM me a quote for?

Thanks guys! I honestly haven't been more impressed and known this undeniably that i chose the right car for the purpose than when buying the 350. I have had a great response from all and a guy i know actually bought one himself a week later! All the mods have been just to bullet proof it for track use, do you think a larger rad or oil cooler is required? Seating position is soo close to perfect, i was gutted to run full buckets with harnesses and lose the electric leather heated goodness. Ohhh no! I guess most people who played Need for Speed remember the black betty and 350 influence haha! I would be shocked if evrry black Z in the country isn't called Betty

Hey Guys, Thought I would say hello! Got my 350z back in November last year after looking for the right one for a good while. I had been through the motions looking at loads of options from 997 911s, cayman S's, s2000s, M3s but the 350 just ticked all the boxes for such great money! I happened to find an older gent selling this absolute garage queen. You could really tell the thing had been cherished and a garage wall full of autoglym/megs/poorboys products confirmed this haha! Had been used as a weekend car but he admitted he hadn’t had the time to enjoy it in a while…. I happily gave him my money, he genuinely seemed gutted. At the time I had a Honda Accord Sport daily and an old 200sx I bought to do some drifting in. The 200sx was plastered in really good quality aftermarket parts. Making 400hp and totally prept for some abuse, but the damn things have become so rare and sought after in good condition it became worth while me selling it along with the Accord to buy the 350z I would now daily and do a few track days in along with the Annual Nurburgring trip and weekends away in Scotland, Peaks, North Wales etc. I am lucky enough to have a few dedicated track toys including a Mazda MX5 fully prepped, mainly used as a cheap driver development toy and winter track day beater. It's a car i can let my friends drive on track and really push hard in without really caring about battle scars (it's seen barriers and many gravel traps )…. oohh and the more full on track mobile... A Fireblade MK Indy RR which I absolutely adore . First thing I bought for the 350z was a track day. I wanted to know where I stood before I set about the modification and development plan so the day after I bought the car I was booked on to Oulton, but unfortunately bad weather called the day off and I had to wait until the following weekend for a shakedown at Blyton. Very impressed with the level of performance, mega compliant and on a stock setup blew me away with how well body roll was controlled, little vid here, I did ask far too much of budget brake pads>> Anyways sorry for waffling on! Really eager to develop and use the 350, glad it is already so capable, only nice easy things to do! Have Oulton Park booked Feb 11 and Anglesey on Feb 12 as a shakedown before a ten day trip to Nurburgring in April! Mega excited! Current Prep list since owning the car: Service/Refresh items 6L Titan Oil Oil Filter Power steering fluid Diff Fluid Gearbox Fluid Fuel filter Spark plugs Brakes Braided lines EBC Orange Stuff pads (track compound) ATE Blue fluid Brembo discs Tyres and Chassis Yoko AD08R Tyres 245/40/18 all round F&R tyres mounted and full geo Tein springs (7kg F / 6kg R) 20mm drop Nismo front brace Eibach wheel spacers 15mm F 25mm R Interior Low seat subframes motordrive fixed bucket seats harness bar 2x FIA aproved Harnesses snap off bos and hub kit Personal Suede 330mm steering wheel Engine Mishimoto air intake with heat shielding Scorpion full system Exterior Mines front lip Autohaus Rear spoiler Other VDC Switch delete Clutch Pedal Adjust Future plans will definitely include a 4.36 Final Drive. I think that would genuinely transform the car. Look forward to seeing you guys at a track day soon, and once again sorry for the long intro .
