  1. Same reason Halfrauds is so expensive these days lol
  2. Evenings work better for me too due yo wife and kids and work.
  3. That's what I'm hoping. I'll pop in one day and ask some questions.
  4. Yup. Trying to find a light measuring device is hard though. Its not something that is tested on a mot, you can pulled for it but it's hard for the police to prove on the spot. You may find tinting the rear and sides gives the impression of a tinted scteen.
  5. Well its classic car nights 1st and 3rd Thursdays. I'll HAVE to find an excuse to pop (life's hard sometimes )over and get some info about what evenings are available then will throw it to you lot. Was thinking an evening Between end of may to end of july. The wife and kids are going camping without me end of the month so I'm free.
  6. So if there was a box to tick on the ballot declaring that none of the parties are your preferred choice you'd tick that? It'd be a dangerous box to have, and one that would give a scary insight into how people feel they are being represented by those at the top. People talk about changing in standards between L&C being in power. I have to say that as the stereotypical mr average, I have never felt the changes for better or worse. However my wage has increased through promotions and career changes.
  7. Stop it! I already bought rear spats and front splitter from you, stop tempting me lol
  8. Hi fellow east midlanders, There is pub just outside derby called the coopers arms that hosts car meets fairly often. I'm there some monday evenings just as the Porsche OC is just wrapping up. Now Summer is approaching, they have a big car park and excellent lemonade. If you have a driver, the beer is good too. The carvery is to die for, but I don't think they serve much past 9pm. There are some reasonable country roads roads leading up to it. Gauging interesting on having an evening meet there over spring/summer for a chat and a perve at each others cars. I've not approached the pub yet to see if they'd mind, or if any other clubs are pre booked, I'll do that if there is a bit of interest. The car park over looks a pretty lake so it is also a good photo opportunity. Before I approach the coopers, I'd like to know interest, preferred evening etc. Its in the EM section, but there is no reason why others can't express interest. All are welcome. One more thing, I know we're all sensible and mature, if I can tell the pub we're not a bunch of chavs doing burn outs and hitting the rev limiter in the car park, I'm sure it'd sway the venue in our favour.
  9. Halfrauds do an £85 treatment where they fill the cats with an expanding foam. They go in through the 02 sensor port, leave it to soak, then blow it out. I used it on my my new hfc's before fitting them and a lot of crap blew out. Looks like this... Rather than having a cleaning agent that becomes active after combustion, its soaks into and cleans the cats directly.
  10. Not used one myself, but I imagine they'll not take on cases they cant win, and in those instances do 30min free consult and charge thereafter.
  11. Congrats to your SO , mine is head of English at GCSE and A level school. When I did my time at Tesco as management a lot of the union reps were failed managers and a lot of the time they were over protective of staff that needed harsh punishment for work practices or sickness. But, if you worked with them you still got the favourable result. I agree with Stu, though I don't know how much solicitors cost but I bet its not cheap.
  12. I've been on both sides of the union, both needing them and having them advising a staff member i was disciplining. I found them helpful on both instances. However my wife is a teacher, they have 20 (hyperbole) unions all with different agendas, and it seems not a year goes by where one of them isn't striking.
  13. No I've had cancel, I still need an assistant manager, and until I have one my days off are hard to come by. One bloke applied but didn't show for 2 interviews. I've been thinking about organise a meet at the coopers arms just outside derby one evening, they have quite a lot of car clubs there.
  14. It is, they just don't know how much it'll cost
  15. Nah black goes with everything . I have a thing about yellow and black and have done it on my last few cars, trying to avoid it on my zed. My favourite was J's racing s2k from a few years back. Japfest 09. Also found this from the same year...
  16. Really trying to not sound like a DE/Rev up fan boy, but its all i have exp of. I used to have an alpha GT, and in fairness it handled lovely.
  17. Do love those AE86's. That last 5 yours?
  18. Who'd have thought Alpha would be at the top . The only reason they're a pleasure to drive is the excitement that it works for once.
  19. Good job they also want to increase minimum wage lol, sounds ,like the new plods will need it
  20. Also, not all Rev-ups burn oil, mine is on 126k, uses no oil, has no rust, or knocks. All cars have the potential for gemlins and niggles. Like Zippypoos says, all are great cars, and if they've been cared for previously you cant go wrong. Whenever I buy a car I offer to pay for a years MOT before final sale, at a national garage, rather than one the seller is 'in' with. For £30 you get a years mot and a fairly decent inspection.
  21. Hell its not just cars, I've worked in the service industry all my life, people are quick to moan and slow to praise. But just for Zeezeebaba, mine runs like a dream and aside fuel and mods, costs me little.
  22. I really need to start looking into policies. Between work and... sleep? I don't get much time. But feel my desiccation needs to be informed and not generated by spin or friends I've temporarily blocked on FB for cramming their party of choice down my throat.
  23. By the way, my zed is still a work i progress and doesn't look as stunning as some of yours. If you want me to park in a dark corner somewhere, that'll be fine.
