  1. I had my front bumper resprayed, after a short drive after receiving the car, the pop up bonnet light was lit. This light has an icon of the car of what looks like the bonnet, but raised from the hinge. It is depicting that the actuators at the bonnet hinge have fired due to a front end collision. I found a couple of guides to reset the light, and i made it work. The instructions are unclear hence i make this thread to help others. Reset pop up hood light Firstly, you'll observe that the pop up hood light is animated like this on the gauge: Ignition on - light is lit Around 5 seconds later - light flashes Couple of seconds later - light is lit and remains solidly lit To reset the light, the overall dance is in the link. In step 2, where it says the light "turns off", that means, switch the car off as soon as the light blinks off for the first time, be fast. The time for the first blink, was more like 5 seconds after turning the car to On for me, so do not follow the timings on the chart, follow the light and its status instead. Turn on car - Light lit solid, blink off - turn off the car. In step 5, where you must turn the engine off after 3 blinks of the light, do exactly that, again the time in seconds stated is more like 8-9 seconds, as soon as the light does this - light lit solid, blink off, blink on (1), blink off, blink on (2), blink off, blink on (3) - turn off the car. Now repeat that again (2) and (5). After this, when I turned on the car again, the light now goes solid lit, and then starts to blink slowly. Leave for some seconds, and turn off the car. Then turn on the car and the light will disappear! Then turn off the car, and turn the engine like normal with clutch depressed, the light should be gone too. When the guide (and I) says Turn On, it means just press the Start button twice, not full ignition.
  2. Replaced the sensor, was easy, you do need a long 19mm socket to get over the plug end on to the nut part of the sensor. Reading steady at 90c now after a 20min run on the motorway.
  3. At Nissan? Can you link me? Called Nissan Slough and they quoted £53. Anyone have the part number?
  4. My oil temp gauge is reading 110c on a cold start, and after a short drive starts to read 140-150c. It also fluctuates 5c either way randomly regardless of driving style. When I start the car, the gauges do the normal dance from min to max to min. I am not getting any engine management light and it’s not going into limp mode as far as I can tell even at 150c reading. Could the oil temp sensor be bad? Where can I buy a replacement? I looked but some sites seem to confuse coolant temp sensor and oil temp - are they the same sensors? Also, any help or guide in replacing it?
  5. Ok, i dont know much about this stuff, but presumably a 10mm wider tyre is going to have only positive effects. I have the Rays alloys on my 2011 model - no issues there? Also what about tyre pressure sensors when i get them changed? Anything to know?
  6. I cant find the 275/35 R19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres anywhere in stock. Are they not making this size anymore? What is a close alternative? My fronts are Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

    Non Fault Claim

Quote comes down if you say it’s parked on the street.
  8. I haven’t done anything yet. I’m sure it’ll be a challenge.
  9. Do you have a reference we can quote to Nissan? My paint is bubbling right where the mirror connects to the door. It’s a 2011 plate.
  10. Slough/Reading. I see you picked up the Ark grip
  11. Yeah, my car is completely stock. I'm weighing up this and the Ark Grip. Stock is very quiet, just can hear engine noise right now.
  12. Where would I get new gaskets and bolts? How would you describe the sound in the cabin, windows up? And does it have any sort of pop/backfire kind of noise?

I haven't Tim, after I tried a few here and got nowhere, I went back to mainstream insurers. I'll give it a go.
