If you're happy with the sound you've got and just want a bit more volume then HFCs are a great shout, they'll free up a few extra bhp too. Sports cats of any brand seem to be a bit hit and miss with emissions, but if you get them hot before test and have a fairly "friendly" tester you should be fine. The only fault they'll throw up is the CEL due to more pollutants getting through the system. Again it can be hit and miss whether this happens but you're better off getting the car remapped and the rear O2 sensors turned off. It makes absolutely no difference to how the car runs and eliminates this problem. Changing to a regular aftermarket Y pipe probably won't make any difference in terms of sound/volume but might help the system flow a little better.

I was debating getting a CAI for a while, but after having to drive on flooded roads this week I'm glad I decided against the idea

I've had a pair of these in for a couple of years and still going strong- ttps://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F333275515931 They're pretty quick and easy to change if you turn the wheels on full lock and take a few of the arch liner fixings out? This gives you enough room to get your hand in to the back of the cluster.

Surprising it's 294bhp if it's 2005, how high does it rev? 6.5 or 7k?
-
It depends what you mean by best? Performance, looking, sounding etc. A lot of people swap to a decent CAI (such as stillen) simply for the engine bay bling or because they want extra induction noise so if that's what your after then crack on. However as the guys have said, if you're after performance gains just stick with the standard setup and get yourself a couple of decent drop in filters.

Just tried getting a quote for my 350z out of curiosity and got the same message sadly

Looks like a great idea, very smart My Zed doesn't have a cubby, but if it did I'd definitely buy one. As for price I'd say £20 including postage would be fair.

Have you measured the spacers to double check they are actually the same size?

From personal experience I've only ever had Torqen HFCs which I rate really well because they were a perfect fit to my invidia system, seem really good quality, decent price and got me through an MOT no problem. There's loads of other reputable brands out there though such as ark, invidia, cobra, berk etc.

If you're happy with the noise and just want a bit more volume have you considered swapping out the oem cats for HFCs? If you've already got an aftermarket system then changing it to another one will give negligible gains if any, whereas HFCs should make a noticeable difference.

Have you tried @ZMANALEX?

1. Try and find some second hand either on here or somewhere else, I dread to think how much nissan charge for them new 2. Don't listen to whoever reccomended that to you, japspeed are renowned for their poor quality. If you're going for HFCs go for a better quality brand, they'll be quieter than decats but louder than oem cats. 3. Yes the invidia will be quieter than the cobra but still might be too loud for your taste with the decats, probably a good idea to see if there's anyone local to you with a similar setup and go for a listen first.

The GT pack consists of heated electric leather seats, cruise control (buttons on the right side of the steering wheel) and an uprated Bose sound system. The pioneer double din headunit in the car you've linked is aftermarket as is the single exit exhaust. I think the bigger brembo brakes were standard on all UK models but it doesn't have the forged Rays alloys that were an option at the time.

I love the new mustangs but to me it's sacrilege to get one that's not a V8

I think @davey_83 has tints on his 350 so might be be able to help?
-
You'd have to check pipe diameter to see whether they're compatible with the oem system, but they definitely wouldn't be MOT friendly seeing as they remove the cats.

Sounds like the banana arm? Common failure on our cars- https://h-dev.co.uk/product/genuine-nissan-350z-compression-banana-arm-bush/?v=79cba1185463 Another option would be just to replace the whole arm because the ball joint on the other end can also become a problem- https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/nissan/nissan-350z/moog-nissan-350z-03-09-replacement-compression-arm-banana-arms.html

If you're not happy with the rasp from HFCS I wouldn't reccomend decats, that'll just make it worse. Also you'll probably then need a remap to turn off the rear sensors and cure the engine management light. You could try gojng back to oem cats then replacing the back box with a pair of short tails. They're a popular choice and you can get resonated or non resonated depending on what sort of volume you're after. As Payco has said, you could just go all out and replace the whole oem system with an aftermarket one. That'd probably be my choice because there's loads to choose from depending on your needs/budget that are far superior in looks/performance/weight/sound compared to oem. If you're sure you don't want to get rid of the nismo exhaust you could look into opening up and gutting one of the silencers such as the back box. Not sure if this has been done before or how it would sound but it's the only way to make it louder other than HFCS/decats.

Horsham Developments? According to their website they charge £240 for braided lines fitting & fluid bleed.

I've got a very similar looking set from Tarmac Sportz and can't fault them. The install couldn't be simpler as nothing needs to be modified. They've been on the car about 2 years now and they still look/work great.

I've got 2 Milwaukee ones (1/2" & 3/8") , they weren't cheap but they're absolutely brilliant. The 3/8" one will tackle anything M8 or below and the 1/2" is ideal for the bigger stuff (like when removing subframes etc). All my friends at work have similar impact wrenches of various makes (makita, ryobi, dewalt etc) but the Milwaukee is by far the most powerful & lightest. I think it's like with most things really, you get what you pay for. I decided to pay the premium because I use them everyday, whereas if it was just for at home on the odd weekend job I probably would've bought a cheaper one.

Your system must be quite old? I think the gemini has been revised now and the Y pipe pieces don't have a flexi joint anymore. You might struggle to find a replacement because I don't think you can buy individual pieces separately and you can't use a normal aftermarket Y pipe (like stillen) because it's a true dual. Maybe you could get them cut out and a straight bit of pipe welded in?

Veilside V3 maybe? https://www.carbon-addiction.com/index.php/product/nissan-350z-veilside-v3-style-carbon-rear-spoiler/
