I came from a B18'd SiR EK pal that like yours, was modified to the nuts. Might've not had the most horsepower but it ran rings around so many things on a twisty B road. It was glued down As been already said they are completely different driving experiences. I never feel truly relaxed driving my Z compared to the civic as I find the Z a real handful because I dont trust it in the corners. I dont know if it's slightly worn bushes or just me (It is my first RWD but ive had it over a year now) but I'm always conscious about it biting me Dont think for a second though that means I dont like driving it. I LOVE it. The sounds these cars make, the looks they get and the comments. Personally Id recommend you try and test drive one before you take the plunge. I miss the Honda, definitel. But would I go back? Not a chance ☺

Whats end float play?
-
As far as ive seen all Zs have some kind of rattle from the clutch when switching off, and from what ive read its to do with the duel mass clutch. Mine rattles so I just depress the clutch everytime

Do 03-05 VQ35DE engines have these oil gallery gaskets?
-
Mine plugged in just fine too ðŸ˜
-
Ill be taking mine offroad for winter. Japanese cars love to rust, destroyed my rebuilt Honda even after getting extensive welding done But then I have a 400 quid banger prelude to rock around in, that can rust all it likes
-
I didnt realise Chris sold though B pillar trims? I may have to look into them as my carbon onesare peeling! Let me know how you get on with the springs pal, looking tasty
-
If its oil leaking into the spark plug chambers its a common 350z issue pal. Despite what many people say you can actually buy just the seals separately and a competent garage can do them It is easier to just buy new covers though, but definitely not the cheapest option

Olly's facelifted GT. Sun burn, shows and new exhaust!

So a big shout out to Jim for selling his facelift rear lights. Step one in facelifting the Z, complete Managed to burn quite a bit of oil while having a play with an R35 last night Been booked back in for the valve covers and chain and tensioner, wish my wallet luck! -
I'm getting absolutely nowhere with it and almost everything has been examined. I'm told the engine is in excellent condition and the symptoms/inspections don't point to any major internal damage, but we can't find the source of the noise. The only remaining things to check are the VVT solenoids. I'm not sure I can tolerate the uncertainty over the condition of the engine/car personally. I too changed my fuel dampers to no avail. The tuning shop listened to it and did say that it sounds like any other Z, they even brought out a customers Z and it too sounded the same Talking to the garage they did mention valves, however they said that they are a shim type design and a bastard to change. I do have a rattle on start up as well so ive literally just gotten off the phone and booked it in for its timing chain and tensioner 😢 I know that feeling very, very well my friend. Its awful not trusting the engine
-
Noticed on mine last night that the voltage was the same as yours, with radio, lights, heating and seats on etc. Obviously load on the alternator will create varience. Is mine dying too?
-
Following. Mine sounds like this after a real good run. Tuning shop recently hqd it was fine as they are noisy engines, but they did suggest injector tick
-
Was at a tuning shop recently because my engine has a similar tick / rattle but not that pronounced. The guys at the shop swore completely that the engines were strong and I shouldn't worry He suggested that its more than possible its injector tick. Have you any update to this?

Is there anyone on here who would offer there services to do this? Really not electrical or small and fiddly savie (fat fingers) Would love one

Having the lights refurbished definitely made a difference to light output but it's still far from brilliant IMO. I'd say my retrofitted lights on my old civic were better lol. I upgraded to from 6K to 8k and its as good as its going to get, so will be getting facelift headlights at some point -

Hopefully so man! That's if I don't sell it in this annoying love-hate affair I have with it The love wavers when I see the annoying list of small expensive jobs that need doing opposed to modifications Im just not overly keen on how it looks from some angles, there are days where I wish I'd kept the standard bumper with a front lip on? Im very picky about my modifications haha. Height wise its ok I've not caught it yet through careful driving -
Hey guys and girls! Been a long while since I've done a build thread! I picked up my 350z funnily enough just over a year ago, been meaning to get on here for a while but everyone remembers what it's like to be a noob! Been knocking around cars for a long time, practically live breath and sleep Vpower haha. First money pit was a B18R swapped Honda civic which I spent the best part of 6 years restoring. Sadly and being honest I ran out of talent one night while having a rather vigorous play with an R33... so that was the end of that chapter So this time last year I'd literally just purchased my GT 350z. It came on a sensible 63k with full Nissan service history stamped at every interval. Did think I'd gotten a great deal but as the year has progressed it has appeared to be a bit of a lemon, throwing up all of the normal Z faults that develop with time. Standard first ever fill up picture Then went and rebuilt the Brembos and got new MTEC drilled and grooved disks and padds with HELL braided lines. Again fitting didn't go to plan as we ended up snapping a hard line which meant being trailered down to the shop as it sensed the low fluid and locked the diff But it now stops the planet rotating so worth it The car then spent a week in pieces as it went down the body shop. It had fitted Nismo side skirts, Nismo rear spats and Miens front lip fitted along with reviving the headlights. I do also have a Nismo V3 spoiler but that's yet to go on as I think it'll look silly as it is and with the refreshed headlights and a little photo shoot with Luke My next purchase was a slight impulse buy which I do regret some days. A Nismo V2 front bumper And the latest addon was getting my windows tinted, by far my favourite mod so far So I think that's me kinda up to date The car was recently used alongside my buddy James 350 for his wedding, which I'm sure some of you will of seen. Apologies for all the pictures but as they say, they are worth a thousand words! Overall I'm happy with the 350 I just wish I could get past some of the niggling faults that are appearing. I have an extensive list of plans which im sure one day will come to plan, just annoying when you want to build another show car but life gets in the way! Future plans include Lowering Wheels facelifting the front end changing the rear bumper getting this V3 spoiler on smooth wings and alot of other bits! Thanks for reading

Im around dude, bit of a lurker though haha. Used to be out alot with the Honda guys but as said I got disowned by them for not buying another rice cooker! Would be good to meet up with a fellow Z owner I'm not in a Z anymore (check my sig) but always up for making some new friends. Ohhh nice Well would be good to meet up and have a natter with another Nissan! Let me know when you're about and work permitting i'll come up! Thank you and Noted Bud. But I had these on my old Honda and it got abused religiously and there was never a problem there and compared to the Z which gets nannied on the daily I think i'll be ok. Brakes are one of my monthly checks
