  1. I found the actual gearbox nice, albeit a bit noisy.. The clutch pedal feel drove me nuts.... The vibration and tingling feeling was awful.
  2. Bargain.. Mine was the same albeit it had 12k miles and a trader gave me £18,700 for it..
  3. I have had loads of V8's inc my current car.. Jaguar XKR could just touch 28mpg on a run, around town was 16 mpg... Currently i have a Mercedes C63 with a map approx 520bhp... I did a run to Worcestershire and back a couple of weeks a go (265 mile round trip) and managed 27.2 mpg.... Its around 15 mpg around town and commute of 6 miles... I dont do a lot of miles really, and the C63 uses about £20 a month more than the 370z... That said it was £80 cheaper to insure the C63...lol...
  4. Yes it does sound brutal.... Has hi flow cats and remap, currently around the 500bhp mark.. I picked it up yesterday and the Z will be getting sold through the dealers i would think,. Pics to follow when i take a decent one..
  5. It was a nice ownership experience and i was sad to see it go. The car grew on me in the time i had it. Some things i disliked a lot (road noise, clutch pedal vibrations, drivers seat base, transmission noise) but on the right road on the right day it was a proper blast..Fast A roads was its best environment. I put it on ebay for a total of a month, but didnt have any serious enquiries and no one turned up to see it so i ended up part exchanging it in the end for a Mercedes C63 AMG.. Luckily enough i got my money back,so £0 ownership cost.... Im pretty sure i will have a Nismo at some point....So may return. Im involved in a few forums, but this one is particularly great...I will stay around and keep my eye on the ball, cheers..
  6. Mine done it at 7000 miles when I bought it And still does 5000 miles later Gets right up my tits
  7. When I bought my 370z the nsf backplate made an odd noise when going over bumps, made a twanging scrapey noise.. Pushed the backplate away from disc Solved
  8. If your fairly sure it will need paint then that really is best to be done before any machine polishing is done.. The price for paint correction is pretty competitive now,i would guess around £300 at a good detailer will get you a long way.
  9. How odd... Hard to find a bad review about them anywhere.. How many miles have you done on them ?
  10. Tracking a car shouldnt cause the EML to come on.. £100 to check the fault codes is scandalous, and should only be charged if neglect can be proven. Im a automotive diagnostic technician myself,so work in the trade daily and the main dealer strategy of charging for diag in warranty is just plain wrong.
  11. If the EML has illuminated there will be a fault code present, whether it be current or historical. I cannot really understand why they would want paying, the car is under warranty and thats the end of it. You can fault code read a Fiat 500 in literally 5 mins, and thats a scan of all systems, not just drivetrain... £100 is ridiculous. What part of Yorkshire are you in ?

    ACF 50

Great stuff, used it a lot on various applications. If your thinking of rust prevention, then i would go for a dedicated product though...ACF 50 needs reapplication to keep the protection.
  13. Audi Quattro turbo SWB Just a superb car in its day. Lancia Delta Integrale... Was the best of the bunch, brilliant drive. Nissan Skyline R32GTR...Just killed everything when it turned up. Mitsubishi Evo 5... Much better than the scoob,a car than anyone could drive fast... Superb A road weapon. BMW E39 M5.... Much awesomeness and probably the best BMW ever built. Jensen Interceptor FF..Blew my mind when i was a kid, proper GT car. E type.... The most beautiful car ever built ? Bugatti Veyron.. Just for being technically brilliant and very very quick. Auburn boat tail speedster... Beautiful design and exquisite from every angle
  14. I had a few different models of 996 The C4S being the "best"... just had the lowly C2 in 997 as I thought it was a improved car but sadly it wasn't much better .. Audi invented the dual clutch gearbox, I do realise that they own porsche now..but like much else, the tech was robbed and put into the Porsche... it's a decent box with a low failure rate but I would still have a manual over it anyway... I do my own set up .. Docwra... What so great about the latest engines? What new tech has been introduced that hasn't been in a road car before ? Let's jut hope that they can hold themselves together for a bit instead of crapping themselves on the side of the road and leaving the owners with 5 figure bills I'm not saying they are a bad car, just not worth the money... As an aside I much prefer how the Cayman drives to a 911, but that could just be driving style.. Anyway... we are skewing of course rather wildly, let's just say I am not a fan of the marque, I always was until I owned them. But I haven't owned any of the new generation stuff, and I do like the new Cayman just not with the 4 cylinder in.. I will own one I guess, then see if that makes up for the years of disappointment
  15. Maybe... But the reality is not as good as the myth. I have only had 996's and a 997,and both fall way short for what they offer for the money, all IMHO of course.. Porsche never bring anything to the table,no new tech,no new design. Some are lovely to look at,but the price tag for what you get is ridiculous...
