I had one for 3 years. Absolutely amazing car, the best I ever owned (from a driving perspective), I would have bought another but wanted something with a bigger engine this time, I'm sure I will get another S down the line though, at some point, no other car was so intoxicating to drive fast. Most common issue is the timing chain tensioner, makes a ticky noise, needs replacing often. As far as the engine goes, that's really about it, it really is one of the most reliable engines of all time. They do have valve seal issues if abused (light smoke can indicate this), but if kept nicely oiled (they burn a fair bit, it's normal, but means constant attention is needed) they're almost bulletproof. One of the most reliable cars I ever had, nothing in particular to look out for on the chassis, make sure its never been crashed, fit some good coilovers and sticky rubber and wonder why you didn't own one before. Top down in summer blasting 9k rpm down country lanes, is about as good as it gets in a car with your underwear on, make sure you fit a decent exhaust.

Thanks guys, will be in touch!

I'm not sure to be honest, still getting into mine, haven't had it long, think you might need them on rear? Someone else wanna chime in? By the way, I'm really not sure how such wide wheels are gonna look with such a subtle drop. Are you prepared to go lower to make the wheels look right? Anyone else agree, it's going to look a bit monster truckish on Tein springs with 2cm of poke?

Actually, he's technically right. The width of the tyre does not affect the speedo reading, the diameter/circumference/rollout does, it's up to the person increasing or decreasing the width to similarly make sure they don't change the diameter. Kyle is well aware that keeping the same sidewall ratio while changing width will result in a different diameter tyre, everything he said is spot on for purposes of the post. To the OP, use a rollout calculator such as this one... http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator ...to help you work things out. Try your best to stick to stock diameters 225/45/18 and 245/45/18.

Step Children and relationship break ups....
Aashenfox replied to nowhereboy's topic in Off Topic Discussion
As someone who is having relationship issues on and off for a while, with two young children in the equation (mine though), and as someone who was the 7 year old son in this story as well (my mother has been married 4 times), I have the following points to make... 1) While the idea that I wouldn't see one of my mother's husbands again bothered me greatly at the time, I got over it very quickly, and still only have fond memories for that guy. You will have contact with him again when he's older, if you want to, take a bit of heart from that. 2) If you don't make a clean break, the pain will never go away. The hope will always be there and the rejection and feelings of failure will ruin you even if only over the short term. I have to agree with your family. The amount of emotional upheaval I have felt in my life has led me to be somewhat pragmatic in such matters, and while I know that your hope is a source of strength, it is also a source of pain, and you will be stuck in that rut until you do something about it. Move on, bro, there's nothing you can do if she is sure that she doesn't need you any more, it's better for everyone if you just bow out, it will help her and her little one to move on as well. That's my 2c. -
...there's actually a question in there too. Has anyone ever managed to get a front or rear bumper into the back of a Zed (even if it encroached on the passenger space?) That is really what I wanted to know, but then I had the idea to ask what other weird and wonderful things you have managed to fit into your Zeds! Let's hear them!

Hiya, Perhaps one of you good people who breaks cars for a living can help me out with this. When one wants to convert a halogen hi-beam base model headlight to a bi-xenon facelift unit, they can either: Change the 8 pin plug on the 06 lights for the 6 pin plug from the old lights and rewire, or change the 6 pin plug on the engine loom side for an 8 pin one and rewire. I'm going for solution 2, can anyone supply the required 8 pin connectors from the engine loom side? Thanks!

I believe that you are going to need archwork AND camber no matter tyre you go with, but someone who has done it may want to disagree. The reason I think this is because I have my wheels spaced out to be almost flush (20mm front, 25mm rear), and your fronts will stick out 23mm more than mine, that will give them a nice poke, not too extreme, but hte rears... 32 mm wider than mine!?...it's going to look ridiculous if you don't add a lot of camber, regardless of tire size. How low are you? Basically, roll front and rear and add camber as needed. These wheels are wide but aren't super extreme, it won't be a nightmare to make them fit, just a bit of a pallava.

I never have understood (though I understand some do it for tyre clearance when extremely low) why some people put lower profile tyres on the Z than the stock diameters (mine was also using undersize tyres when I bought it), I've also seen it on loads of other cars. 245/35/18 is under diameter, the car will be going slower than the speedo reads, increases torque a tiny bit and reduces (if restricted) top speed. If you bear in mind that stock sizes are 225/45/18 and 245/45/18, you can use this simple calculator... http://www.1010tires...Size-Calculator ...to check the overall diameter and circumference of what you are replacing with. For me, it's important to stay not only as close as possible to stock diameters, but also to maintain the 2 to 3% larger diameter of the rear tyre than the front (this keeps traction control systems happy, though it seems that some cars are more sensitive than others, for example, some people run a square setup without issue, others doing this get the traction control turning itself off all the time). To me, since its a fast rear wheel drive car, it seems to only make sense to keep the TCS happy. Long story short, 245 and 275 35/18 are wrong. 255 and 275/40/18 are correct to be as close as possible to the original diameters. If you go 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear, you will have a front to rear variance of over 3.5% which is a bit more than the TCS likes (though once again, you'd probably be ok unless yours is one of the exrtra sensitive ones). 255 on front would be a better choice if you care about staying as close to what Nissan intended as possible, and also retains the 20mm variance in tread width between front and rear. P.S. You will most definitely need arch work and/or camber front and rear, regardless what tires you put on.

Wanna tell us the gist of it? No way I'm gonna find that over here...

I believe this is known as the Blitz spoiler unless someone wants to correct me. I also believe it doesn't fit the soft top, but I'm prepared to be wrong on that too. Lol. Not much help there then.

Those look like mostly game engine related issues to me. Eeek. What a shame. -
Co-op Games - Your Recommendations Please

GTA V is the ULTIMATE coop game, it's the most fun ever, in fact, it's kinda essential these days to go out in a group if you don't wanna get wrecked. I was hesitant to join gtav online, I thought it was going to be a pointless clusterf**k, but it's really, really good. If I had more time and game playing friends, I'd be in there a lot more. Getting a good group of 4 players together for the heists is the ultimate reward, I don't know if you've ever raided in a MMORPG at a high level, but it gives that level of satisfaction, teamwork and accomplishment. Even when you tire of the kill kill kill (who am I kidding?) the races are epic and extremely challenging as well. Its less an online game as an online world where you can go with your mates. I know this sounds like an advert, but try it, you'll see. Especially with good friends who play well. I never laughed out loud so often in any other game either. -

I definitely think I could buy and modify a 350z to kill a lamborghini with half the 80 grand lamborghini price of entry. But yeh, economical is definitely a subjective term.

Only the first run was a rape, and that was because the Gallardo had to shift immediately (great driving, chap. Why don't you just give that Gallardo to me? ), the others were close. I wouldn't have bought a Z if it wasn't capable of killing Lambos relatively economically, that is the ultimate goal of mine, said in a single phrase, exactly that, Lambo killer. Why? Because when I was about 14 I promised myself a Lamborghini by the time I was 40. That happened on Saturday, and I'm not even close. So I had to dream up some kind of justification in my own mind for not making it, however much of a stretch it is. I decided that there's nothing for it but to make the car I already have a Lambo killer, so that I can say, well I had a better car by the time I was 40 anyway (yes, I'm aware faster does not mean better, but please don't burst my fragile bubble), and I'll tell people it's VBH's favourite driver's car, etc, and she has access to Lambos, blah blah, and remain in denial, UNTIL the time that I can afford a Lambo, then I'll buy one and be able to stop kidding myself, while simultaneously making young people cry to see a 60 year old at the wheel of such a car. There you go, see, no illusions.

The Nissan Dealer made me do it - My build thread

If you say so, I imagined they would be an oem nismo part but searching for nismo rims returns a lot of different stuff. That 'lmgt5' moniker was what I was after. Thanks Strudul! edit: Quick search reveals rare as rocking horse poo on the face of it. Oh well. Anyone know a source?
