Isn't it. There's another lesson in there as well, that many people don't realise; never, EVER stop on a motorway and if you absolutely have to, get all the people (and small family dogs ) out of the car and behind a barrier as quickly as possible, EVEN IN LAYBYS.

Since this popped up while the incident is fresh in my mind, allow me to morbidly post this as a further reminder of the importance of tyres and knowing their limits. Long story short, a family on their way to the country for the three day weekend, stopped at a roadside toilet so the male driver could relieve himself. While doing his business, he hears a tremendous crash, comes out of the toilet to see his car with his wife and 3 year old inside, in 3 pieces on fire, 50 meters from where he left it. A porsche 911 GT3 crashed into them at 160mph after shedding an 11 year old winter tyre a few hundred meters before the crash. Everybody involved (2 in each car) was killed instantly except the father in the toilet who probably wishes he was. Poor bastard. There is a video of this incident around, it's not for the sensitive. My father-in-law knows the family that was destroyed. Terrible. http://www.keeptalki...d-winter-tires/

I also believe they are the same. If you look on youtube for 350Z or G35 door actuator DIYs, you'll find at least two that I can think of. I saw them recently cos I also have a broken actuator on my driver's door. Both DIYs that I've seen were performed on a G35 and advertised as being valid also for the 350z. If I were you I would use the site everythingnissan.com to confirm that the part numbers are the same on original equipment, then when you've confirmed that, drop Jon@Emporer or ZMANALEX a PM with what you need, they will have it in stock. I have a door actuator from Jon sitting in my boot, waiting for me to go get my diff fitted and this done at the same time.

"The insurer will pay out to the crippled kiddies regardless" That's what I meant, hadn't had my coffee yet so phrased it poorly, whether or not they would then try to extract it from you isn't really relevant, imo. As long as the kidies get looked after, that's the clarification I wanted to make. I wouldn't want someone thinking that because they didn't declare a throttle controller their insurance would be totally invalid.

My money's on TCS as well, it's very invasive in this car. After only a month I started turning it off right after starting the car. I don't recommend this for everyone though, I've been driving fast cars for over 20 years. Having said that, when you turn the TCS off, you still have AYC active (anti yaw control??), it still won't let you swap ends unless you're doing something idiotic.

You still can, and they are only going to start appreciating from nowish, the good ones. One of the best front wheel drive handling cars ever. I almost bought a supercharged G60 when I first came to greece, but they were really expensive (rare over here). Love, love, love them. However, if I was going to get a fast 80s VW, I'd transplant a VAG 20VT 1.8T engine into a mk2 golf rallye (or synchro), the 4wd model. I used to be really into the dub scene, I've had 5 mk2 VW Golf GTis over the years, Corrado was always a pipedream when I was like 18.

Thankfully and as you would hope (but sadly not always), when you give someone else a life changing injury, the insurance is more likely to be lenient on the car mods and pay out whatever is needed, as to void someone's policy on trivia (like a throttle controller), leaving 'the little kiddies crippled' would be a national scandal. It's the middling value accidents, shunts and the like, that they will vehemently try to get out of.

I had a 'wtf is this??' moment last year as I came out of the airport in Holland. Almost the first car I saw, was one I had NEVER seen before. This was a true shock to me as I consider myself a genuine petrolhead, I had not seen a car I didn't know for many, many, MANY years. It was a Tesla Model S and they were EVERYWHERE, half the Taxis were this car. I've still never seen one anywhere else.

Now that's a useful picture. Cheers for that.

........... Get em on get em on get em on! They're already on the For Sale section. Beautiful wheels, wish I had 4 grand lol.

Welcome. There isn't really that much to look out for on a Zed that doesn't apply to any car. The Zed doesn't have any serious model specific niggles or failures, it's a super tough, well made car. Bad points: Um....It's the size of a BMW 3 series and has only 2 seats and a strut brace taking up all the boot space. That's all I can think of on the negative side... EDIT: I suddenly remembered the only really important buying point...ask the previous owner what fuel was used and if it's less than 97RON or unknown, walk away. The low quality fuel eats our pistons!!

My FN2 made 230lbft, and 200lbft from 3500 but that felt a bit quicker than my current 370z @ 304whp, must be because it's 200kg lighter , oh and the gearing was a lot shorter even with my longer FD. Is there a roots or twinscroll charger made by someone? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ello mate, sorry missed this question, yes, there is a roots type supercharger, made by stillen. Many people hate it because it doesn't make as much peak power as the centrifugal ones, and requires hood and strut brace modification to fit. However, it does have a very nice plot, lots of nice low end torque, even if it does lack a bit at the top end. I loved my Eaton roots 'charged cooper S, it was a madman from any revs, just put your foot on the floor and hold on for dear life!

Mate, just order new ones. You aren't going to get anyone who has spacers for sale looking in the wanted section for someone to sell them to. Because if he wanted to sell them he could put them in the for sale section and like every other spacer advert before it going back through ALL TIME AND SPACE, they would be sold in a matter of minutes for not much less than new ones. I really wasn't kidding when I said that I've seen second hand no-name spacers going for MORE than those genuine Eibachs.

I think that Supra is wearing one of very few aggressive front bumpers that don't ruin it, I like it, but I also like OEM+ with a lip too. The cheap, small wheels and fogged headlights on it ruin it in that picture, but I want to believe its only got those on while in the shop (the wheels). Why doesn't he change the headlights?? And I much prefer the new bumper on coldel's GT4, it was more rally before, now it's more 'GT'. So naturally, it's going to appeal more to those who like the splitter look, such as me! I bet the profile looks much better now, much more aggressive. Got before and after side profile shots 'del?

I do like Chris Harris' own stuff, it's good, if a liiiittle bit sterile. What was missing from Top Gear was interesting and entertaining interactions between the crew. Evans was so canned as a personality, and so the opposite of Matt LeBlanc, but also so 'Chris Evans' that he could never be anything but that, it didn't make for chemistry. The guy himself isn't bad, I have nothing against him, he has an amazing collection of cars, and I'm sure he's a genuine guy, its just his showbiz style doesn't lend itself well to human interaction and chemistry. It seems these guys have that already, which is looking very promising.

Bunny hop feature could actually be used to hop bunnies, what a life saver (for the bunnies)!

ZMANALEX or Jon@Emperor will have whatever it is you need, in stock for a great price.
-
My drivers door actuator is out as well. It is common, I ordered a replacement second hand unit from Jon@emperor on this board, just haven't fitted it yet. For the time being, my key is working. There are several videos on youtube for G35 door issues, it is a DIY, but its a bit of a ballache, I'll be paying my independent to do it.
-
Great info Dean, rough cost from stock to finished?
-
Good quality at a great price, I've seen second hand sets go for more than this...I bought mine from this seller too, but I remember paying a touch more! Grrr. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281938347573

All those videos are using Plasti-Dip . . . you used a different product I was about to say this...Damn dude, I feel for you, but plastidip would not have done that. Now with the unhelpful stuff out of the way, let's try something helpful... Looks like you'll be getting out the wet n dry, no avoiding that, but I too am curious why it was SO toxic to some areas of your car and totally benign on others. I'm inclined to go with your suggestion that maybe there's some cheap clearcoat on those parts or something, it's mighty weird. How long you had the car? Are you one who details? Though again, this analysis isn't going to change what has happened, and maybe you'd be better off in the long run having those panels that reacted weirdly all redone. Maybe it would have peeled off in 6 months anyway? /shrug

In 'proper' Zed fitment (i.e. 9.5/10.5+25 or lower) you definitely won't need spacers. You can see how much clearance there is in the first photo in the OP (it;s a LOT!). But if you go down to 9" or narrower, or higher than 30 offset, you may need to watch out with this wheel. The stated 9.5/10.5+15 will have fully 20mm caliper clearance.

It's near perfection for me. I do love the XKs but they are just a tad frowny, I can't deal with that, my car has to look happy, or at least angry! Not sad though. They are beautiful, and aggressive looking in a good way, I'm not saying it ruins them, but that one detail prevents me from raising them higher than 'a very nice looking car'. The F Type is very cat like in its appearance, it's all so deliberate, very Jaguar. Kudos to them, and please, don't ask me to take off these rose tinted spectacles.
