  1. Ah right ok. I have been looking and only found Blackcatcustoms ones so just wondered if there were some UK suppliers kicking about as the customs charge will probably end up more than the bits haha. Cheers for the info mate
  2. I meant to say pads but couldnt think of the word so just put legs haha. Any details of where you got those dials from mate, was it from the US or within the UK? Also were the LED's included in the kit aswell? I do like the look of those. Saying that I love the look of your Zed mate very unique and looking amazing!
  3. Hi mate, the link below will take you to an auction for the blue mats but they do all sorts of colours. If the link doesnt work just search on ebay for the member wercarmats. £44.99 plus £8.50 postage: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Blue-SUPER-VELOUR-Car-Mats-Nissan-350Z-350Z-Logos-Boot-Mat/201600673607?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D37256%26meid%3Dcd7df01fb7a34e179dfc98a378101809%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D201622604013 Whacked my toolbox on top of the mat so it has flattened it. Took a bit of weight purely because of the thickness of the mats but now flat so all good. Hmm that does look good, certainly would go with the orange stitching in my seats too. Maybe one for the future.
  4. Right guys, one of my pet hates is having a nice decent looking modern car that looks great in the daytime but then when it gets dark and you switch the lights on all you can see is a dingy outdated looking orange glow that IMO ruins the look and feel of a car. To combat this look and feel I am going to be replacing all the interior bulbs such as those in the dome/map light, the cargo bulb etc to bright white LED boards. So this is easy to do and fairly inexpensive so Im happy with that. The next step is to then address the instrument cluster. Now this is where it gets more difficult as the bulbs behind the dials are actually LED's that are soldered onto the PCB inside the cluster. My question is does anyone know what colour these LED's are as standard? I know they seem to illuminate orange but the markings on the dials themselves are orange and not clear. So I am wondering if the LED's are orange aswell or if they are clear/white but appear orange due to the tint on the dials. If this is the case then its fairly simple and inexpensive to get some quality custom dials made up with clear/white markings to sit over the top to improve the look. If however the stock LED's are orange in colour then this will mean changing both the dials and all the corresponding LED's for the colour of choice. This could turn out to be expensive if paying someone else to do it but cheaper if you have the soldering skills yourself (its not hard when your used to it but can be daunting the first time you do it especially seen as if you mess it up you will need a new cluster) however it will still be a PITA due to the size of the legs on the LED's. Either way this is a project I will be embarking on myself but without having a spare cluster to mess about with and not being able to remove my working set as its my daily I thought I would ask here first to see if anyone knew. I know a couple of people have done similar projects themselves but that was mainly changing the colours to red or blue etc instead of just white. Any help/tips appreciated.
  5. Same as above I have watched the buying guide a few times in the run up to buying my Zed.
  6. They do look good. The blue and red ones look fantastic in the pictures they have listed. The thickness is pretty impressive to be honest. The previous owner had purchased some universal orange mats from Halfords which looked ok but kept moving around under the pedals which is not ideal and they were pretty thin compared to these. They certainly look and feel like they will last
  7. Just had a quick browse online as my boot carpet was cut up to accommodate the audio install. Since removing this I needed a new carpet and came across a whole set of colour coded ones. They look good and the quality seems good too. No idea how long they will last but they are a cracking fit and look and feel durable. Only time will tell I suppose. Although yes I bought them from Ebay they were from a UK supplier and not China. They were around the £50 mark and I had to ask especially for the orange ones and they took a few days to make up. Here they are: The logo on the boot carpet doesnt look straight in the pic but this is only because it was rolled up. Once the carpet has been fitted for a while and flattened out it will look as it should.
  8. Aha that picture is clearer now, the light in the previous pic made it look darker and similar to mine. Also couldnt quite make out the minor differences as the avatar pics are so small. It was the black wheels, roof and handles that had me guessing. You are correct it is indeed the BMW orange. Aha fair enough, well this is my first and I absolutely love it. Ive had her a little under 2 weeks now but done several long journeys in her and she has had me smile all the way and I cant get over the MPG!!! 27.8mpg and I did not drive so conservatively. If I had driven the same in my Porsche it wouldve been down to 16mpg.
  9. Looks like the same car thats in your avatar pic!! This didnt used to be yours did it? FN04 XXX
  10. These bulbs were in it when I bought the car but you can get them from many auto parts stores. I normally get them from ebay or a local motor factors. Just seach for chrome indicator bulb. Just need to make sure the bayonets are situated in the right place so it fits in. Not sure if ours are 180 degrees or staggered.
  11. Good to meet you guys, nice friendly bunch and some lovely cars. Although now I think I need a supercharger
  12. Met Office and BBC both say that MK will be overcast until around 1700 then just cloudy with no rain until the wee hours. Looked at a few independent weather services and they all say the same
  13. Right guys so my Zed was MOT'd 1 week ago before I bought it. The only advisory was both headlights slightly cloudy. This didnt really bother me until I saw the car. In my opinion it was the only thing that let the overall look of the car down. So I decided to do something about it. I looked online for someone to refurb them for me but then saw the cost. Yes cheaper than a new set but still not an attractive price. I then started looking at restoration kits with the sand paper sheets and polish and buffing pads etc etc. again these were expensive for what they were. I couldve bought the individual bits from B&Q for half the price. So there I was holding a Meguiars kit in my hand thinking nah I can do it cheaper. Then I thought bu66er it everyone raves about toothpaste so why not give that a go. I then purchased a pair of Meguiars Microfiber Applicators for £3 from Halfrauds and then off to Sainsbury's and purchased a tube of Colgate Deep Clean Whitening toothpaste with added baking soda for £2.50. Once home I started the process. Gave the lights a clean and then a wipe down with an alcohol wipe so it dried quickly. Took 1 of the pads out and smeared toothpaste on one side. I then applied this to the light working it in a circular motion until the entire light was covered. I then continued to work in a circular motion wetting the lights occasionally as I went. I then turned the pad over and gave it a last work over until the toothpaste was all but worked in and removed. Once the lens was free of toothpaste I simply took the 2nd pad and dried it off in a buffing motion. Et Voila!! Done and what a difference it made!! See the before and after below: The drivers side was worse and a bigger difference can be seen there. Yes I do realise the angel eye in the drivers side has come off its mount but these aren't currently wired up so makes no difference when the lights are on. Im potentially looking at replacing the lights at some point in the future anyway so not mega fussed about it. Also I did not finish it off with any kind of polish or wax or sealant because even if its something I have to do once a month then I dont mind for the cost, time (around 5 mins per light) and relatively little effort.
  14. Welcome mate, lovely car and those wheels look amazing!!

  17. Aha not often you find someone who knows what a Legnum VR4 is so thats a nice surprise. Unfortunately only 1 of them will be back on the road due to rust etc. The one with rust has a good engine and gearbox only a few thousand of miles old and the other one has a knackered gearbox. So a swap is imminent and then I shall have one awesome wagon back on the road Running in slow time at the moment due to work etc but hopefully it wont be too much longer.
  18. Cheers for the warm welcome guys managed to get the pics sorted now too. I frequent the Herefordshire and Northamptonshire areas quite often and travel between the 2 on a weekly basis so may see some of you on the road and always up for a meet.
  19. Aha I never claimed it was a Nismo 350Z I just thought the title Nismo Newbie had a nice ring to it Although it does have a full Nismo exhaust system. Cheers though mate its a great colour and the Chargespeed kit was on my list of requirements. (Mainly for the future but seen as this one had it already that was a massive tick) Aha cheers GM I shall take a look at that now.
  20. Cheers guys. Just trying to figure out how to upload more pictures. If I delete pics from my attachments will the pics Ive already posted disappear?
  21. Hey guys, just wanted to pop in and say hi. I am the proud new owner of a fantastic 350Z. I think some of you may know the car already as it used to belong to a member on here back in 2011. Not sure if the previous owner I bought it from was registered here but either way the car is back. My name is Rikki and whilst this is my first 350Z and indeed my first Nissan I am not new to Jap cars and currently own 2 Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4's although they are both off the road at the moment. Anyway thats enough about me I know you are all writhing in anticipation so here is my new beast: Hope to get to know some of you guys and get to some shows/events. Was at Japshow this year (albeit in a Porsche Cayenne) but the few 350Z's I saw there blew me away and I fell in love. I have been searching for the right car since then and believe I have found it. Absolute joy to drive and at 28mpg over a 150 mile journey whilst being driven hard at times is new to me haha. Oh and just one for the Admins, I tried to join under 2 different usernames with 2 different email addresses but didnt receive any validation emails. Addresses were correct and nothing in spam folders. They were however both hotmail accounts. After accessing and changing my email address to my gmail address I received an activation email. Not sure if this is a known issue or just a one off but just thought Id give you a heads up. Would be handy to have someway to contact the admins without having to be a member otherwise I wouldnt have been able to join.
