  1. Hi mate, what size are the wheel nuts? Are they 19mm? Reason is my wheels have very small clearance for a socket to fit in so 19mm are the biggest I can fit in there. I will probably take them if they are 19mm as I don't like the wheel nuts that are on mine and they are mostly all very close to being rounded so could do with replacements. Cheers Rikki
  2. Everything went smoothly until I missed 2nd gear pulling onto the Old Stratford roundabout after getting caught off guard at the lights with MarkSt haha. On the plus side those new rear lights do look good
  3. It seems there is an event on tonight although I am parked at the same spot as last time. Am I the first one here or are we parking up somewhere else tonight?
  4. Happy days, we are a friendly bunch, I myself have only had my 350Z for a month and this is only my 2nd meet so always happy to meet new members.
  5. Welcome to the forum. There is a meet at MK Dons stadium tonight at 8pm if you can make it mate
  6. Randomly came across this video showcase of my Zed before it was mine:
  7. Cheers guys, like I say took about 5 mins per light and I am very impressed with the result of very little effort and only one coat. Maybe Ill go over it a couple of times next time and see even better results but for now its done the job. Looking at maybe getting the angel eye rings and the bottom row of LED's to work next as neither of them are wired up currently.
  8. Not at all. If you look carefully you will see that there is a sheet of hardboard that sits vertically behind the speakers. The horizontal piece then sits on top of this behind a lip. It is sat snugly in place and doesnt move in the slightest.
  9. Ok so I like to carry a toolbox around with me wherever I go. Nothing special just a set that has anything you would need at the side of the road. I have owned modified cars before and know that anything can happen. There is nothing worse than calling the AA because of a simple fix such as a turbo hose clamp needs tightening as the garage that youve just picked it up from didnt tighten it enough and it popped off on the dual carriageway when you floored it (Yes that has happened and it was damn scary especially when the engine died (after a big bang) as I was coming off the slip road meaning no power steering and no ABS!!) Anyway I digress, the only issue with the Zed is that my tool box and anything else I have in the boot is visible from the outside of the car through the front and side windows. To combat this I have made up a type of parcel shelf that sits behind the rear speakers and heads back to meet the strut bar. I then covered it in back felt so it now blends in and from a distance looks rather factory. Could do with an orange 'Z' logo in the centre of it though:
  10. Cheers Mark, I will send a PM a bit later with the details of the previous 2 owners if I can find them as I the exhaust was definitely on wheb the previous owner bought it.
  11. Hi mate, I am in Hereford during the week and Northampon way during the weekends although the odd weekend such as this coming weekend I spend in Hereford. Could always meet halfway somewhere if that helps at all. Not entirely sure about the roadsters and I havent actually located the amp yet (didnt need to) but believe it is in the boot somewhere. Aha the orange bit is simply the centre console/armrest bit but mine has been covered in a custom orange leather. If you fancy meeting up this weekend give me a shout mate
  12. Eyup guys, looks like I will be able to attend the meet on the 30th Although I cannot guarantee the car will be clean as I may have to travel 150 miles to get there: Tuesday 30th August @ 8pm 1) Matt89 2) Apoc124 3) Andy_Muxlow 4) Nate 5) kbad 6) SUPRAWOOKIE 7) MarkSt 8) OliverB 9) Kayla 10) Jalada 11) Erni902
  13. I just ran a quote with compare the market and with my modifications declared only 3 people would insure me!! The prices..............£10.550.47
  14. Mark, I have recently acquired an '04 DE 350Z which has a few mods such as intake, plenum spacer, nismo exhaust etc and was wondering if there was an easy way for you to tell if my ECU has been uprev'd? Im quite a distance from you so don't want to book in for an uprev to find out when i get there that it has already been done and I have wasted money on fuel and time travelling down and back. What is the license allocated to? Is it the ECU itself or is it the vehicle etc? I would however be interested in having the pops and bangs on overrun if this is possible so if you could let me know a price for that, that would be great. TIA Rikki
  15. Ok cool, I have done this in the past with the ones without connectors present. If they are rated at 12v (99% will be, especially if they specify 'car' in the title somewhere) then you can either go to Maplin (other stores available) and buy the cigarette connectors and just wire them up or you can tap into the stereo power or direct off the back of the cigarette lighter. In all cases I also wired up and installed a rocker switch to turn them on and off as I wished. Cant comment on the battery packs as I have never used them.
  16. Hi mate, I used an Alpine unit. MRV-something or other haha. I will check tomorrow in the daylight for you. I have a spare one here that I am not using as the car had 2 in when I bought it. For me it wasn't too much of a headache as most of the wiring had been done for me it just wasn't correctly connected. Headunit was also already in the car. As I say, when I bought the car the sound was terrible (headunit was on 30+ and still a very low and 'tinny' sound). Now its alot better, headunit doesnt need to be anywhere near as high and it was ddead easy to wire the factory sub up to the amp so have some decent bass again. Here is a pic of where the amps were when I bought the car: And here is a pic of where I have moved it to: Depending on your location we could meet up and take a look at your situation and Ill bring my spare amp and we can attempt to hook it up and see if it makes a difference or not. If it does then you are welcome to purchase the amp off me or you can go ahead an buy another of your choice knowing that it will give you the sound your after before you shell out on a new one.
  17. What do you mean by 'Interior LED's'? If your on about the map lights etc then they are just straight swaps for the old bulbs. If you mean the 'boy racer' neon strip type lights that get put in the footwells etc. then they are supplied, 9 times out of 10, with a cigarette lighter plug on the end so just plug into a free socket.
  18. If only I had seen this earlier, I was back home a couple miles from there this weekend I couldve poked my head in and persuaded them to check their emails lol. Hopefully you get it sorted tomorrow.
  19. Where are you located Alex? (Im on mobile and it doesnt show locations on profile page etc) Do you have an Android phone?? If you are close to me feel free to pop over and Ill read the codes. If not then get yourself on ebay and pay £4 for a bluetooth OBDII reader. Then download the Torque app and you can read and reset all the codes yourself. Fantastic bit of kit. Not had to use it on the Zed yet but used it on various other cars and has been a life saver sometimes when the light comes on and it turns out to be nothing serious
  20. Bit of T-Cut and good buff and she will be right as rain!
  21. Passed all MOT's since 2010 with only the usual tyres and brakes as advisories but they are general wear items anyway. Failed earlier this year for wheel bearing but this was replaced straight away and it passed. It is low mileage too so there is that. I would ask him if he fitted the wrap himself or with friends as it looks like it. I think that this guy maybe new to modifying cars and obviously thinks he will get back the money he spent on it so he may well have spent nearly that amoint with buying the car and fittig the bumper etc (if he did these himself) and trying to price it at the sum of all these costs. I would go take a look around the car hear it running and take it for a spin. I would then turn around and offer him £5k
  22. Cheers mate thats fantastic. I always just use the original key as I have a dremel so can make it fit into the flip case
  23. Couldnt find a set of the lights on ebay so just bought individual ones from different sellers. I also replaced the lights above the vanity mirrors on the sun visors. Links below: Main interior lights. Qty Supplied = 2 Qty Needed = 2: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162067658940?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Boot Light. Qty Supplied = 2. Hope this helps mate, I didnt do much searching I just ordered the 1st ones I saw by a UK seller. There are probably cheaper ones out there but cant really grumble at these prices anyway and I have a spare bulb aswell. I will say the boot one isnt a perfect fit and could do with narrowing the connectors it plugs into as it seems a little loose but it has stayed where it is so far.
  24. What I am after mate is something to cover the boot area from the front. So if people look through the windscreen or side windows they cant see through into the boot. Something that covers the area similar to the pic below: Going to make something up that covers from the top of the part where the rear speakers are and goes up at an angle to the top of the strut bar.
