Mine is a 2004 UK DE and NONE of the above hacks work Left the lights on for 8 minutes just to be sure but nothing. Didnt want to risk leaving them on any longer for fear of a dead battery haha. 2004 UK DE HACKS..........MYTHBUSTED

Hopefully haha. I have a fresh battery just been put into the spare key so will try that one when I get back home on Monday

The bonus with LMC's spoiler is that he has already put the necessary work in to make it fit properly so if you buy from ebay you will probably have to put this effort in yourself or pay a bodyshop to do it. So LMC's may be the same sort of cost but actually with it already being prepped to fit etc will save you money in the long run

As above I spotted a nice looking white 370Z this morning around 1030am. You were heading out of Houghton Regis up Poynters Road towards Woodside. I was heading in the opposite direction and gave you a flash but not sure if you saw me.

-Both window tricks didnt work -The honk not only didnt work but has knackered my key fob! I was unable to unlock the car for 10 minutes via the fob and now the range has somehow drastically reduced, I have to be pretty much on top of the car now to unlock it! -Havent tried the lights yet though but they way things are going it will be just my luck that it will end up frying the battery beyond repair.

Was visiting a friend up Oakgrove way in Milton Keynes this morning around 11am. Parked up in the corner of Waitrose car park and as I was walking away from my car I spotted a ginger 350Z Coupe coming in the car park. I waved like a mad man then realised....I was nowhere near my car so probably just looked weird as hell haha. Was a female driver and needless to say she didnt wave back but if it was you then take solace in the fact that a mad man is not stalking you it was a fellow Zed owner lol. Last 3 of the Reg was FSL. In need of a clean but Ill let you off as its winter and pointless washing cars now anyway, nice looking wheels.

Nice to know about the lights turning off after 5 minutes. Will give it a go later to confirm. Not sure the others will work but will give them a try.

Beautiful car and such a nice example. One of my favourite in the Evo range. If I had the spare cash I would snap it up. Good luck with the sale.

Been looking to do something like this for a long time, not just with the Zed. I just never get round to doing it. So thank you very much for sharing this, its a good base to start with and I will now only have to make slight adjustments to suit

Welcome along mate. Pics are a must though

Not particularly great scenery but she needed a good wash today so took a shot of her afterwards:

Only issue with the cheaper replicas is that sometimes there is a fair bit of work that needs to go into fitting them, some dont line up properly with the rest of the car etc. Some people are not too fond of having to modify brackets etc on the car to fit the new bumpers as it means they wont be able to put it back to stock very easily if they wanted to in the future. If you dont mind having the car modified to fit the bumper thats cool but be aware if you are not fitting it yourelf then this will bump the price up as it is all labour at the bodyshop. Will also be costly if the product itself needs modifying. Not trying to scare you away or make you spend more money but I have found these issues with aftermarket body parts etc that were cheap copies.

Hi all, just got my first Z.

I wouldnt worry mate, when me and my dad work on cars together we are like the chuckle brothers. We spend more time swearing, clanging and banging around and blaming each other for taking off the wrong bits etc than we do actually progressing. We normally end up working on the driveway at midnight via torchlight half cut with Foster's (other brands are available) cans strewn across the lawn. The moral of this story is that we may end up with spare bolts but we always get the job done and nothing has ever fallen off so thats always a plus Even with all the cuts, bruises and stress it can cause it is actually really enjoyable. Unless your working on a German car then its a PITA. -
Welcome to the cub

Welcome to the club mate. I was not mechanically minded at all and my first car was given to garages to do everything. This cost me a fortune and when I got my 2nd car and started to modify that I decided to learn at the same time. Started with the simple jobs and gradually got more in depth. I have now done 2 engine and gearbox swaps and looking at a third. When you get over the fear you realise that everything just bolts on. Obviously cambelts and things are a bit more complicated but generally speaking it all just bolts together. Just start small and work slowly taking pictures if you have to and make sure you know where everything came from. -
I will have to wait until 9th Jan when Im back to work mate to confirm as my V5's are there and I can't recall off the top of my head.
-
Forgot to mention aswell that not many of the VR4's were registered correctly with the DVLA when they entered the country so some just show up as V6 Galants others dont have any model on the V5. I have been lucky that both of mine have been registered correctly. I personally believe that Insurers will definitely see this as a get out of jail free card for themselves if the vehicle is not EXACTLY as registered on the V5. Having never had to claim (rushes to touch as much wood as one can possibly touch) I cant confirm this but knowing insurers to be snake like creatures I can only imagine their eyes would light up at this.
-
For the VR4 (which was never officially released outside of Japan) I have found reasonable prices from The RAC, Admiral (although the cover sucks so watch out for them) and Adrian Flux. The best overall policy for a modified VR4 that I found for myself was RAC. Admiral wont cover like for like on modifications. So you pay extra to insure a shiny new FMIC but if you crash they will only replace with a stock FMIC. So for a FI Zed you wont get a replacement at all. You will however void the insurance if you dont declare the FMIC. I cant recall any other companies I have dealt with with regards to grey imports but Im sure I have missed at least 1 company over the last 7 years of ownership. If I remember I will let you know.

When I get the engine swapped and get it back on the road Ill give you a shout and take you out for a spin in it Hopefully be done by the end 2017 haha.

I bought a cheap sheet of mesh from ebay when I made a custom bumper for the VR4. Cost around £10 for a sheet big enough to mesh the entire front of the bumper and the fog light gaps with plenty to spare. This was about 5 years ago and the car saw all sorts of speeds and terrain, plenty of stones etc and not once did I have a drama. Paint not even chipped let alone mesh damaged. Unless your buying uber thin chicken wire I think you will be fine.

I have a Blitz (not blitz style) half carbon rear spoiler fitted to mine at the moment. The top has been painted to match the car paint. I am looking for a Nismo V3 spoiler but these are few and far between. If and when I get round to finding one this will be up for sale. Ill keep you in mind when I decide to remove and sell.

I had been driving through fog a few years back in my Vectra with front fogs on. Got into a town where the fog had cleared but forgot I had them on as Id done a long journey. Pulled up at some lights alongside a copper. The driver wound the passenger window down and gestured I do the same. He then said, 'You need to turn your fog lights off, its not raining!' I replied with 'They are called fog lights not rain lights so I shouldn't even have them on in the rain either!' The copper in the passenger seat and the lad they had just arrested both laughed and said 'Yeah he's got you there' Anyway I digress, as above correctly aimed (and used) fog lights will help you see the road ahead more clearly with as little glare as possible and will also help you to be seen.

I see only 2 options really: 1) Leave as it is until you 'get around' to purchasing a Nismo V2 bumper to replace it with 2) Push the Nismo V2 bumper up in priority and replace it right away. Personally if I will be changing the bumper in the future anyway then I see little point in repairing the bumper or buying a new pre-facelift or facelift bumper to replace it with. May aswell wait and fork out the extra for that something that you have always wanted perfect excuse.

Lovely looking car mate, get yourself on a couple of long journeys and get that mileage clocked up so you can really start to enjoy it As for the PCP you are free to modify it in any way you like but if you plan to give the car back at the end then you will have to return it to stock. If you plan to keep it then no problems. Just be prepared to reverse anything you do if it goes back.

Cheers mate I think so too. Yeah there are not very many at all these days as rust is hitting them quite hard. Haha yes the neighbours hate us. And that is only half the fleet lmao. I also have a Porsche Cayenne, Audi A4, BMW 118d and of course the Zed lmao. Might start hiring them out lol.
