Hi, ok so ive looked into the cd009 gearbox and when they were introduced and there seems to be a bit of discrepency with the info ive read, somewhere i read that the cd009 boxes started in 2006 and someone else said it was in 2005 some point, now im looking at getting my hands on a 55plate 350z, would anyone be able to tell me if itll have the cd009 box in it? Thanks

Ye its not often you see them at shows!! The seats are one of the main reason i went for it over the z, i love the practicality of being able to take more than one person somewhere!! Its a shame but at the same time its not! Another reason for choosing them was because its a car that is so rarely seen!! Nd with mine being the manual version, its even rarer so it stands out at car shows etc. Basically the chassis is the same (z33) for all intents and purposes but the body is different and the inside is different but the running gear and engine etc are exactly the same, makes it easier to get parts for engine/ sus problems!!

Add a video to youtube and copy Nd paste the link to this thread

Is the jwt a double or triple plate clutch? As ive heard some aftermarket clutxhes do make bad rattly noisey sounds when near idle speeds, might wana look up noisey after market clutches, see if you can find a few vids of examples and compare, could just be a normal noise in the end but i cant tell without hearing it

my method of getting cheaper insurance for younger drivers
nharrison2012 replied to nharrison2012's topic in 350Z General
ok well wasnt actually expecting this much spirited debate about this, was just looking to help the younger drivers out there :'D i do get the point with the boycott etc and as coldel says, just drive the car more sensibly for a while to make the difference through petrol consumption. Also tricky, i have made sure to make it clear to any insurers what car it is and that its not a z gt. -

I'm not at all saying this isn't the direction that were heading in. i do get that but what I'm saying is for some people (mainly young) they want to be able to have a nice car and not pay the earth in the first few years of there driving just to be able to enjoy their cars. I'm not saying you have to go down the route of a box. just an option. also police and other authorities have to have reason to look into data which is kept from these boxes as it is covered under the private/ personal information act. or something like which means so long as you don't cause a crash by going over the speed limit then what does it matter? i get your concerns, i don't want to have to have a box monitoring my driving 24/7 but it served its purpose for a time. i would be willing to pay that bit more in the future to have insurance without a box. if that's what it takes to have an insurance policy without a box then so be it, if boxes in cars proves to reduce the cost to the insurance companies then that is the route which will be taken regardless of what we do, insurance companies run off numbers. chances are in the future regardless of any of our opinions boxes will be the norm and you will have to pay extra to not have one but not having one wouldn't automatically put your premium into the thousands as many drivers now don't pay that and still don't crash -
ok so been looking for somewhere who knows a lot about the z33 platform to take a look at my car, my set up etc and the two names i always come across are horsham and abbey motorsport. this is great! except the fact i live near lincoln up north!! not so great! so is there anywhere up north like within 100ish miles of lincoln or doncaster that has a good reputation with the z's? just looking for an experienced hand for some general advice and for possible future work.

ok i had considered this a while back but after speaking to tricky ricky, he pointed out a not as smoother ride with the mass of the flywheel not riding through the engines responses to throttle etc, do you not find this to be much of a problem?

ok well my bad on the highlighted text, dont know why it did that :'D. also: i never said to make up a person, i have some people i know who fit that description well. at no point am i saying make stuff up. and ye i get your point about the slippery slope thing, i wont be getting one from now on as for older drivers it doesn't actually make it any cheaper, its more the younger than 21yo drivers who benefit from lower prices with having boxes. Also the box i had was only on for 3 months, its not on now. It saved me a few hundred for no hassle so why wouldn't i? its alright coming from (I'm guessing) an older guy who can afford an extra few hundred for the privileged of not having a box or for whom it may not even be cheaper to have one. -
Pioneer avh-170dvd rear camera help?

is there a way that you can get to the wiring for the reverse signal? if the wire you connect to the reverse signal is picking up a feed when its not in reverse then it will think it is in reverse. so get a device to show when its picking up voltage and compare when its in reverse to when its out of reverse, if there is volts on it when in reverse that means that when its out of reverse it shouldn't get a voltage on it but if after the 7 seconds of it being out of reverse it starts picking up a voltage again, you may want to look at a problem with the wire you've tapped into. Also if you've tapped into the live side of the reverse signal wire, it'll come up as live all the time so would always go to reverse camera? I've not got a lot of knowledge on this stuff but if you could eliminate a few of these things ive mentioned as potential issues then this would help diagnose it.
