  1. I had a similar issue with crappy idle last week, I fished a receipt the size of a A4 folded down the middle from the airfilter, god knows how that actually got in there ? Hope yours is a simple
  2. If you slow it down to 0.5 or 0.75 looks like a normal lap
  3. 3rd dibs on the lip. Only over the hill from you
  4. Oh I agree, but 'if' like Alex said the bores, rings and valves etc are shot. Then rebuild or replace, that's the situation I was basing the reply on. But that said, 4-5L of oil every 3-4 months is a lot of oil loss.
  5. My understanding of it is, 2 options Rebuild the engine or replace the engine. Or the likely choice, drive it till it drives no more and then go with option 1 or 2 Both are roughly 3-6k
  6. Not exactly a mod, but an improvement... Yellowed headlights, wet sanded with 600>800>1000>1500 and clearcoated Before, during and after.

    OEM Exhaust

Sorry to hijack this one, but im also in need of a stock back box, mines blowing from the weld on the joint. PM me with offers please
  8. Same as above for me too. Old naff one off, new overkill one on. Only tricky bit was getting the new large battery in the small space and refitting the retainers.
  9. From that article a few of the key points to deem classic were. Iconic Sought after Character For me the 350 ticks all those boxes Iconic - Yeah, the return of the Z cars, featured in many 'popular' skid films. Was the focus of one of the biggest Playstation games and spawned the birth of the GT Academy. Plus a profile that from whatever angle you see one, you just know what it is. Sought After - People are still buying them, value seems to be holding quite well. I'd bet a lot could be sold for what you paid after 3 years Character - As per the article, all of the 350's on here have a story and their owners have that special bond. How often do you park up at the shops and as you walk away you just look back and smile ? Even those who ventured to other cars still seem to get the bug and come back for more. Not to mention all the little 'quirks' the 350 has. I may be biased, but if we can't deem the Z a classic now, then surely in the next 5 years tops they will be. As mentioned above, Modern classics can be anything over 15yrs old, that obviously covers the early DE's so can only be a matter of time....
  10. Yeah i'll do the stoptech slave, fluid and braided line, just I have a long drive up to Newcastle on Thursday and have no way of getting it done before. Once back i'll get it done, just hoping it doesn't pack in on route.... Fingers crossed it is cold and wet, seems fine when its not hot ambient temps too.
  11. Mine has started doing the same, what is the usual timescale on it starting to happen to total failure ? seems to be fine for a while then starts doing it when hot, then once cooled its fine again for a while.
  12. Not Good ? Nissan Garage ? I'd take it in and get the codes read.
  13. Pitty you're in Gloucester, looking for a cheap back section. GLWTS
  14. New roof skin can stand you about £850 for a mohair upgrade. If you can get him to knock a few quid off towards it and the rest of the car checks out service schedule and maintenance wise i'd say its a decent buy. Tires, well that's just something we all have to buy at one stage so I never worry, unless they are brand new I always change them for decent rubber right off the bat just for peace of mind. Best bit of advice I got on here before buying mine was car + value of known bits needed (if any) + £1000 just for unexpected stuff. Don't just buy for the sake of buying it, buy the right one. There are loads of member cars worth a look which have a verified and traceable history. Buy with your head and not your heart
  15. Probably easier to just whip the front bumper off and see where you want it, measure and go from there. Any guess work based prefab will most likely be wrong, no point doing it twice.
  16. I'd start with a fluid change and some molyslip. Seems to be a decent option to try before a new box. @Ewen@Clark Motorsport is just one of the traders on here who will be able to supply everything you need fluid wise. @ZMANALEX will probably be able to help secondhand box wise
  17. No worries, willy was close but willsy is better btw, I missed the rev limit indicator setting too.. Full list is: clock speed outside temp DTE average fuel consumption and speed elapsed time Stopwatch trip odometer Shift indicator light It may be an ecu thing . Here is an archive on the same topic:
  18. On the uk ones there is usually: mpg, dte, clock, temp, lap time and speed. Think that's them all iirc Only ever use the clock and DTE
  19. Arrived today, kinda hoped the fuel cap had the full strap but hey ho it was basically free so no complaints from me. The Splash Guards are bang on. Many thanks
  20. Sorry about the car bud. Can you price postage on the Spats and fuel cap please. edit: Money sent.
  21. Yeah I know, but 30k only happens once in a Z's life At least I slowed down a little....
  22. So the other day this happened 30000 miles up so thought i'd treat her to a good clean, not been done for a couple of weeks so snow foamed, rinsed, snow foam again another rinse then contact washed. Looked clean, but thought well I bought a clay why not give it a quick once over.... After one rear quarter the clay was bad, never thought it could still be that filthy. But I can now say the Meguirs clay bar kit does a decent job. Needless to say, after the bar it needed a full rotary polish with the 3m ultrafina then a hand polish and wax... So no pics of the finish too late in the day.
  23. The more I see these, the more I want one. Considering replacing the 350....
