I had something similar a couple of times in the lake district. I am by no means a plane spotter so no idea what they were, but sat at the top of Wansfell (I think) watching planes fly low through the valley below was definitely a memorable experience.

Where I used to live in Cape Town, I was about 1km (in a straight line) from our local race track..... gotten woken up by the v8 racing every Saturday morning That sounds pretty awesome

Very nice I would love a skyline one day but finding unabused examples close to stock will be getting harder and harder. Plus only had the 350 10 mins so will reconsider in a couple of years.

Only info I have is from twitter accounts from various sources. General consensus, after everyone worrying about bombs, is that QRA Typhoons scrambled from Coningsby authorised to break sound barrier over land.

Anyone else hear/feel the booms over Yorkshireabout 20 mins ago. Reported to be heard/felt over Leeds, Harrogate, Wakefield, Doncaster and over towards York. Apparently 2 RAF typhoons being scrambled broke sound barrier over Leeds. Made my house shake, set car alarms off. Poor cat still looks like he is bricking himself.
