Oldest Boy Racer in Town...(maybe)
EcoFriendlyAL replied to Wilkini's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Ay up. I'm 52 so plenty of us having a twenty year midlife crisis if you believe the type of person that drives a Fiesta and looks down on sports cars. You only live once, might as well make the most of it. Welcome to the forum. -
Thanks for the input folks. I believe I was going as fast as conditions allowed. I'm aware of my own capabilities and think after driving lorry and large vans I have plenty of driving experience. If you see at the end of the video a black car has to pretty much stop so we can pass each other. Showing just how narrow the road actually is. If you go over a blind hump in the road and there is a van coming the other way at 30 mph then you either going to hit the van or the dry stone wall or both. I'm not used to those kind of roads so think I was doing OK at about 30 and slowing for blind bends. The bus following looks like its about 15 years old and I don't think it could brake quick enough if a sheep would have been on the road before me, which happens a bit up there.

Hi Folks, I was driving down a very twisty road in The Lake District, barely room for two average cars to pass. taking it pretty easy when a big white minibus comes up behind me. It actually had a school kids notice on the window. The yellow square with two kids in it. So I assume it is a school bus and it was about 3:30 so don't know if it had kids in or not. Idiot rode my tail for a few minutes till I pulled over to let him get lost. Anyhow I have a Nextbase Duo, so got the bus number and licence plate. So what I'm asking is what would you do? SEnd a copy of the MOV file to the police, The Bus company or maybe even BBC CUmbria? Maybe I'm over reacting? Do you think this idiot should be driving kids down dangerous country lanes? I realy don't want to get involved with the police, I suffer with my nerves. I don't think they can take action unless you report it and are ready to stand witness? Cheers. P.S if your answer is "You should of put your foot down", I'm not interested.

I've made a few models myself and am very impressed with the skill and detail on this. Look forward to an update.

New TV on the cards - suggestions welcome
EcoFriendlyAL replied to ioneabee's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Hi, for what its worth I used to deliver and install TVs and generally speaking you get what you pay for. Well thats not ground braking info is it lol. IMHO Sony are very good then there's Samsung a bit cheaper buy still good. Avoid Goodmans, or as I used to call them "Not so Good mans". WE used to have to pick up loads of them returns for breaking down. Hope that is of some use. If not sod yer :-p -
I bought a Nextbase Duo Twin Cam about new year. Got it in the sale at Currys PC World reduced from £200 to £160. AS name suggests, it has 140 degree front cam and 50mm zoom for rear, though for some reason they are both rotatable through 180 degrees? It cost me £81 to get the thing hard wired, so you can't see the wires and it is connected to the internal fuse and comes on and off with the car. It can be set up to record if the car is knocked while parked, but I always take it out in case some git brakes the window to nick it and it is quite visible.

I usually say "I'm allergic to everything but wool" as I had the allergy test with the 10 drops on the forearm, then a needle prick to get it into the skin. MY nose has been running since I was about 15 and hasn't stopped since, I'm 51 now. So had the test done. They all came up red except for the wool one, so I know I'm allergic to pretty much all pollen and the worst reaction was to house dust and house dust mites, that one stayed red for 2 days. AS for food, bread is a problem for the IBS. THough I bought a bread maker and the bread I make myself isn't so bad for me, as is wholemeal bread. Cheese is a likely one, I used to get high on a pizza when I was a teenager. Que disbelief and ridicule. SO thanks for the great genes Mom and Dad,

Hi, I'm having the regular window uppy downny problems. I've had a new window motor fitted and they said they had done the reset on the motor and I've done the switch reset myself. So now window works up n down. Window goes all the way back up if I close door with it half way down. Trouble is the half inch drop when opening only happens occasionally. For what it costs I'm going to try replacing the window sensor on the door post. Unless someone can advice me other wise? I've looked on the parts diagram site but can't find number of part. Should be a pic below Cheers AL P.S I'de like anew one not used of Ebay thanks. 25360-AD000 25360-AD000

Nissan Juke CVT gearbox failure. Any experience?
EcoFriendlyAL replied to Jay Kay's topic in Other Cars
Hi Jay kay. yes i heard of this. A mate of a mate has the Juke and had gear problems. Can't recall without chatting, but think he had gear box replaced after not that many miles. "Worst car he ever had". So yes it is a known problem and probably should be a recall. -
Hi folks, getting onto my front lawn I bumped over a lump of concrete with the front right hand side of the car. Came to move car today and got the dreaded yellow engine light. used code reader and got P0139 , P0159 , P1147 , P1167. P0139 P, P0159 P, P1147 P, P1167 P. I don't understand the ones with P on the end of the number? I have a MaxiScan MS300 code reader. Codes are for O2 sensor overheating. I've cleared the faults, but not yet used car again. So have a hit the O2 sensor with the boulder. is it around the place I hit. can't think its just coincidence. Time to buy new sensor off Ebay? Thanks AL

Hello and welcome. -
Super! I found them too when I got home 2mins ago Glad you are sorted. Cheers Veeg33 for the photo. So it looks as if there are two different types for each side? At last a pic of them, it's like seeing the bloody holy grail LOL! I think the 2 bigger ones are front, the other 2 smaller ones are rear. I had both front n rear swapped with HEL yes Alex said there are only one on each side. Confusing as Nissan Brindley Cannock wanted me to order 2 of each? This makes Norse Saga look like a trip to tesco to buy bread. Thanks again Veeg33, you've been a big help
