  1. didnt want to be that guy starting another thread but also looking at these SLK. The 350s are level with 350Z. Theres also the older 2000-2003 SLK mk 1 SLK 32 rare gems with Supercharger 354hp some tuned to 400hp weighing only 1300kg. The 172 2012 - 2016 do have some issues including roof leaks and exhaust valve. They are rare and come with a 5.4 v8. They weigh around 1620kg. 394 ft lbs and 4.6 seconds so as fast as a NA v8 needs to be. Roadtax is £340 and has the 4 cylinder shutoff system for economical driving. Not to be confused with SL which has its own issues
  2. My neighbour had a yellow mid 2000s 987 3.4 boxster for around 3 years. It did get a bit of attention street parked. Retired and got a Smart car to whiz about. They seem to have jumped up a lot in price since he sold his over 6 years ago. http://m.australiancar.reviews/reviews.php#!content=recalls&make=Porsche&model=Boxster&gen=763
  3. hmmm....under 20k wont get you a mk2 right now. Last year maybe. One or Two mk2 Nismos went for sub 20k in winter. If you do go for the Porsche just be aware that paying thousands of pounds in maintenance is the norm. Get a full blown warranty from Porsche to cover most things. Its around £1300 for 24 months and theyd probably want to carry out an inspection and other to do lists before accepting the car. PDK gearboxes are not cheap. A German out of warranty is a boat without a paddle on shits creek! Ive seen a YouTuber say he spent £5000 on the 981 in first 12 months. Not sure what issues are on the 987 out of the usual. Make sure theyve been taken care of id say. Nismo just need to watch out for tramlining, clutch, wet seatbelts....check seals and look out for rust.
  4. ULEZ cameras are being vandalized consistently. Plus Harrow and Hillingdon said no
  5. He's right. Reliability will be an issue. Then again if the pockets are deep enough and you can keep a secret......
  6. Looks like Japanese are looking to make EV more mainstream by tapping into 2 and 2+2 roadsters and coupe EVs. Toyota/Lexus, Nissan and possibly Honda. Theyre said to come with artificial manual and some customizeability sound and lighting. Maybe Porsche will be the first to get to the market then others will follow. Also Nissan had muscle car concept as well as Peugeot. Both EV coupes. Time will tell what price they will be if they make it to production
  7. The 370 can fit a large suitcase and some handbags in the boot. The carry on suitcase can go between the passengers legs in the cabin as well as any further handbags behind the seat on the parcel shelf. I dropped off someone who had these at Gatwick. The 350Z I fit a small/medium size ikea table top and separate legs as well as a chair with wheels. Ive also helped someone move couple of large bin bags and small storage box.. The 370 is bigger and has more storage space. newer 911 can get close as it has rear seats
  8. yep lol its headed towards £1000. In the meantime though wana try something else
  9. Funny enough 6 months ago these did cross my mind was watching a couple of videos on them. Only thing they are FWD and those have understeer depending on the level of the LSD attached https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/peugeot/rcz/85750/peugeot-rcz-r-vs-nissan-370z-nismo-fwd-vs-rwd
  10. OP should look at Nismo Mk1! Again agricultural is debatable as thats what synchrorev aims to eliminate. Smoother Upshifts and Downshifts with it constantly on! Meaning smooth gear changes. Ive had 2 370s plus Nissan were one of the first to have the modern manual with synchrorev which eliminates jerkyness....Now they have flat foot shifting from factory in new Z But feel free to test drive both and try out the features on both.
  11. Capable "barge". Im also not suprised by the Civic or the Megane.
  12. So is the Cayman S an out and out sports car at 1475 kg? 😮... ooof... Haha...Like Rihanna said "shutup and drive, drive, drive" 🤣🤣
  13. Enough said! Horses for Courses. Lets put the 987 as an HR rival. Due to the timing and specs. Well kinda.
  14. His mod list exceed the price of a stock Cayman S? I doubt it. LSD 4.08 Gears Double Oil Coolers Modified ABS Suspension mod Short shifter. Assuming the car costs 40k+ in Poland due to EU taxation. Still short of Cayman price. These mods are not exceeding £10,000 Stock vs Stock no one can argue but its not night and day. The reason mods are being talked about against a stock Porsche is cost to buy and R and D on both cars are vastly different. Porsche would have spent way more developing Boxster,Cayman and 911 compared to the Z and GTR. To bring the car up from GT "barge" to track car sports car it requires light mods. Nissan know this..RND shortfall is substituted with aftermarket mods......When the field is even....... Nissan only pumped £250 Million in the new Z according to leaked documents. Its costs over 4 times that to develop something close to the New Z4 let alone a Cayman from scratch. Thats probably what happened with the 370Z. Shortfall on Research and Development but it's still a capable car on the track. I dunno about test drives i have my eye on something else lol....also not sure about spending £5000 on repairs year 1. We will see though
  15. https://insideevs.com/news/657104/porsche-price-increases-mid-2023/ Ofcourse buyers will accept it! Porsche Family laughing to the bank!
  16. @davey_83 like for like both cars match 295 bhp**typo and 325 bhp 987 S and 981 S..350 hr 276 bhp and 370 328 bhp..the gts is 340 hp so is the nismo. Release timings are off on the 350 to the 987/986. So you got a point but thats why i compared the 987 instead. The HR having more power than the 987 S. The R is a different fish and now £40k @docwraThey can be heavily modified but basic mods and driver ability those Caymans arent going far. If you want to say Caymans are better drivers cars than Z i already agreed 15 posts ago... Dont forget since 981 electric steering etc has been put in the Porsche. Sure its not all bad but each car has pros and cons. Also GT spec 370Z with some handling mods is actually better for the track in terms of weight compared to the Nismo.
  17. I havent but ive seen numerous track videos...Im sure i can find videos where these Caymans and Boxsters are overtaken by Z with basic ecutek mods.....also if you look at the power/torque figures between both cars. Taking away weight and engine position. Youre making it seem like its miles away. Like the Z is a 200hp hatchback against a 320hp mk8 Golf R....Not the case here. Advantage in the bends maybe. If that's the case youtuber track drivers like nismozeta in Poland etc should be getting smoked every time by 981 Caymans which offer similar power. Yet hes keeping up with more powerful cars and equivalent Porsches. Sure he needed mods but it didnt cost within range of the stock Cayman.
  18. The 350 and 370 are meant to be equivalents to the Cayman S 987 and 981 S. Bar engine position and PDK gearbox theres not much in it. Can chuck it down to better handling and driving dynamics. Caymans a better car sure. The 370 is a very capable car as seen on many track videos where a competent driver is keeping pace and overtaking cars that have more power up to 400hp. Obviously its dependant on lots of factors affecting driver, cars and track.
  19. The headlights alone are £1500 so gd price. On the GT Edition the camber is good. Just needs spacers and springs
  20. Better driving dynamics I agree with Ekona despite not having driven any. Then balance the fact of reliability. Owned 4 Zeds over 7 years Honestly the issues ive had were Wet seatbelt Warranty claim on starter motor for 350Z banana arms DTV tramlining burning clutch TPMS light Strange occurrences of dash lights that fix themselves. All trivial issues that can be sorted. Fortunately no steering lock issues or gallery gaskets the expensive bits 987 has its own well known issues not cheap to fix but you could spend easily £5000+ in a year for repairs going by research into the 981. Much rarer to spend that on a Z but can be done. We all know the engine/gearbox repairs arent cheap Engine at the back, MR experience isnt common. You only get that in supercars or the odd roadster. MR2, Alpine and the like. Its gives a different dynamic and balance to the car Weight differences about 100kg lighter. Power and Speed not much in both cars. A Porsche would probably be on your case if you were in a Nismo vs a 981 S....Nismo vs 987 obviously the Nismo has a little bit more power but not the same handling. 350 is more comparable to the 987.
  21. 22nd April 2023 Anyone going to this?! Just opened to make aware still in 2 minds. Always a good event though 😎
  22. The 370 convertible is the only one I havent had. Ive test driven the 350 convertible. The white and blue roadsters sell quickly.
