Yeah thats where its been simplified in the Z. If I floor it the ECU will shift at high revs near the red line or at the redline depending on the throttle position. In manual mode it will not shift up. It will shift down if in a gear too high So Sport Plus is basically the ECUs most effective performance so no chance of a miss shift or hitting the limiter at full throttle -
Very common i corrected my previous 370 Nismo cant be bothered to do this one! DVLA will correct it if you email them and show evidence. They will take it from the v5 usually.

Weekend looks dry! Hopefully thats the last of the maintenance for a while. So are you going forward without warranty? "Life on the Edge" or did you ask the indie about it?

😂 Maybe he meant in fully automatic where the ECU would change gears not the actual rev limit. Im not sure if Porsche have a fully manual mode? Apparently the Sport Plus mode shifts at the limit of the rev range. Where the sport mode would shift slightly earlier? -

Mountains of Norway, All the main passes in Switzerland, South France leading into Italy. Col Del Turini Car of choice would probably be the 911 GT2RS 991. Saw one in Central London. Silver and Black stripe.

Insurance came up £646 for the 987.2 compared to the Z... its about £250-£300 cheaper. Also road tax is half. Just the car is about 7k more 2010. -
Actually the 987 looks better than the 981 for me. The flatter rear arches and the straight slope to the wing means it will always have that classic look. Also hydraulic steering. 987.2 is good shout I think.

They're cheaper than that especially ex taxi with high mileage. A family will it it comes with Tesla or similar warranty. Beats listening to chip shortage excuses. I guess they cant get the kids in Congo or South America where the lithium and cobalt comes from to work faster. Saving the environment allegedly on one hand, exploiting other countries and its children on the other!

Battery rental on 12 year old Nissan Leafs etc is now a thing. Many people are paying around £40 per month to the dealer for battery rental cost depends on type of battery. Most people couldn't afford to replace the batteries at year 8. It can be from £3000 to £10,000 pounds.

Premium pads will probably be around £450 tbh. Id prefer something in line with hawk street
-
I had them on the Nismo and they seemed good for fast road driving. I can imagine on track thered be a lot more demand especially going from 120mph down to 40mph really quick many times! Suprising to hear

Looking for Hawk pads that are a step up from OEM. I dont need Ceramics or Racing grade. Just Streets performance is fine.

On the drag strip with a "proper driver" and PDK the Cayman S is a Cheetah and pips the R8 for the quarter mile. Conditions, Tyres and Wind direction dependant obviously 😎. The V8 comes into its own post 120 mph all the way to a higher top speed. Nothing to prove post 400 metres anyway 🤧. For those interested. R8 V8 vs Cayman S 981 lap times. As you can see the faster straight line speed goes to the R8. Then the more winding tracks the Cayman is on the R8 tail 😎. But the Torque from the V8 proves a lot. The Cayman has a near 235kg weight loss on the R8. So some winding tracks the Cayman S is capable. So the GTS could be a bit closer with a proper driver and PDK Lap Times Track R8 4.2 FSI Quattro Porsche Cayman S Laguna Seca (post 1988) 1:40.75 1:41.26 Ring Knutstrop (Conf 2) 1:13.50 1:12.70 Mireval 1:36.60 1:35.93 Motortrend Figure-8 0:24.30 0:24.10 Madras Motor Race Track 1:54.40 1:58.70 Autozeitung test track 1:39.40 1:40.40 Hockenheim Short 1:12.70 1:12.80 Contidrom (3.3 km) 1:33.46 1:34.23 Willow Springs - Streets of Willow Extended 1:26.92 1:27.00 Tsukuba 1:03.88 1:06.01 -
The R8 will probably prove more reliable than JLR 😎
-
Good shout. They look good but they're not as reliable and are heavier. Neither is a Porsche 😂. I still want it though. I guess ill learn fast either way!

For peace of mind yep. With the car you can be in lands end or john o groats at the touch of a start button. No longer required to hang around negativity! 😎 Just 3 to 4 weeks I reckon. Might check in with the weather crew hopefully theyll have some good news 😂.

3-4 weeks from decent weather. Are you in Gloucester? Some decent roads up that way.
