Spotted a Zed broke down on the M8 Glasgow
GranTurismoEra replied to hensh65's topic in Spotted or Flyered
lool could have still stopped, but i dont know the laws regarding reversing on hard shoulders , poor guy/girl hope they got rescued -
this is a popular car in the states with young guys and girls lol not suprised, will search it up lol, theres an episode where one of the animal characters backchats about the boy and he rolls by in a ferrari, classic
-
yep had similar in a previous Ford, You rev but the car isnt moving to those revs, Another test is the third gear test, apparently if it judders then stalls, youre done, if its moves slightly and you can get momentum to get the car moving then you still have life left, as said above, Im assuming mine is very worn but I can get it moving in third and its not slipping yet, 83k miles, i do get a smell under heavy load, if I floor it and hit high revs lol, mine is half way, no slipping yet, It can probably go for a while yet unless I constantly boot it everywhere,
-
make sure you put everything back firmly ;-), thats something you gotta be awake when doing lol
-
in 2016 im not sure this car is considered quick lol, when there are 500-1000 hp cars on the road, it does fly though coming from a civic
-
Are you sure reverse was fully engaged? I only get the smell when pushing the car a bit. mine is half way. How high is yours?
-
Some one tailgates you and then tries to go around and your response is to floor it? In 4th so presumably to well above the legal limit, and then you have to slow down to the legal limit because there are other road users about who are obviously being put in danger! You describe him as a ****, and driving like an idiot. I wonder how would you describe your driving on this occasion then?....... id describe it as minding my own business driving in a straight line

the matt blue one has been for sale for a long long time. I wonder why thats still there lol, that knock might just be the bushes, roll bar or drop links, could be wheel bearing who knows. Either way a couple of hundreds to fix, he had a black 2004 going for 5900 but i felt was slightly above my budget and mileage is high

All nonsense to me, was out this saturday, and had 4 guys in a BMW coupe on my case from the turn, driving like idiots tailgating, It was a long straight, they tailgated me then tried to go round me i was already in 4th gear, I floored it. I was approaching a traffic light and some guy was pulling out and saw the bmw on the wrong side of the road and stopped. I was already back on legal limit, so i wasnt coming in fast, It was a red light going green, I scooted out the way so they could get lost. At first they hesitated, but I waited and didnt move and they went their own way putting on his hazard light, not sure what for as I already thought he was a ****, The only reason I pulled over is it was getting out of hand, and police wont see him they will only see me, plus someone steps in the road its over. The fact that someone pulling out a side road had to halt to see what the idiots would do next. I get it all the time. But how much petrol are you going to burn leaving idiots behind.....it gets tiresome.

omg this guy had a 182 too, clocked 60,000 was in immaculate condition when sold last year. I did drive it driving position was van like. Set up was nice and drove and handled well. But it must have been inn the dealer a fair few times. Car wasnt really pushed it was literally babied around. Yea when I was younger it was the choice car and suprised a few mk 4 gti boys but then the Type R came and I didnt hear much about it anymore. Good for him, not to my tastes. va va voom. -

he wasnt a fan of the GTR either knocked the cheapish interior, most of the people criticizing know zilch about cars. Hes got a diesel lump Heavy weighing in at 1805 KG only driven sporadically here and there, lets not debate handling. 300-400 ft lb of torque with 7 gears needed to push the lump , The superiority complex kicked in really fast. I deleted all social media a while back and tbh only my younger brother and best mate know I have it lol. -

loool, the back end and keeping it on the road. He compared to a GT2 Porsche which he reckoned handled better despite the heavy rear end. -
I was wondering what your opinions are on the handling of this car the DE. I havent pushed it to its limits as there arent many places bar a track to do that without getting killed. i was "hated on" for purchasing a bad handler. I shut the convo down by asking him how many times hes been to the dealer lol I think maybe some people cant tell the difference between a 350 and a 370z, I had a feeling he was referring to the 370z Nismo that just came out, which apparently his mate had for all of a week and returned on a whim after asking his opinion (because he lacked grapefruits to be his own man) and probably did what every lemon does, Bought a bmw sedan or a merc diesel lump instead of living a little. So what are your opinions on the handling. I assumed all rear wheel drives kick out at the back when driven silly. What makes this any diff? ps also people cant tell a GT from an out and out track car. Then when you expose them, they backtrack and talk about day to day. With a few mods (remap, suspension set up, spacers, CAI, exhaust) you can convert this to a track car similar to the s2000's Geometry Mods which transform the car, we all agree from the factory it isnt a straight out track car right? Loving the car so far, love the noise, Moral of the story do what you want, but live a little lol

Me too but at 100 odd quid they're hard to justify. I know someone used to refurb them on here, is that an option? I didnt know a refurb was possible, maybe someone has a bit more info
-
I havent but its in my watch list, I would prefer a fresh OEM to be honest lol
-
the engines blow at 110, so he must be bragging
-
Never understood that, my mate had a woman in a 2015 bentley gt white staring at him in his e92 satin black M3, that was basis for a long discussion at how people are never satisfied lol, tbh most of those people are either fans of the car or know that its got a different style from those other jap cars. had a few looks on the way back from Essex, had a few girls waving, and some people staring as in what are you doing down here lol or that exhaust is loud isnt it

supermarket fuel...few years ago i had a misfiring problem, which i sorted by cleaning silicone off the coil packs and trapped dirt, the car jerked and hesitated on supermarket fuel, when i put bp or shell it happened very rarely in America i know gas stations get inspected for quality. here in uk you are open to the elements, yes we get good quality fuel among the best quality in the world. Premium fuel has been proven to make no difference to consumption. Although in some cases the car runs smoother and responds a tiny bit better. But theres no proof of this, just personal experience.

black cars always look good, when clean especially in the summer, mines silver not everyones cup of tea, but it looks more machineyy if thats a thing.

Does insurance take into account significant maintenance?
GranTurismoEra replied to colesl4w's topic in Insurance
search the forum youll find it both cars flip, all that matters is whos at fault and are there any injuries or deaths or claims to be made. maintenance is your job lol, insurance never cared as long as you drive safe so they dont have to lose money on more claims -
all sorted admiral lol
