makes sense. guys are making me want to get a 350Z instead of the mark 2 nismo. cheaper to run for sure. 24 MPG vs 18MPG i got on the Nismo 350Z still a head turner everywhere you go. Iconic car for sure -
I think Top Gear with Matt Le Blanc and Chris Harris was the way forward if he didnt need to step away. Fifth Gear fair play they do what they are supposed to do. The old Top Gear Clarkson used to read out letter from viewers complaining about the lack of real car reviews, which turned into satire. Then he'd do a piece on a car some people can afford then the following week another complaint Years back people might have paid to see Top Gear or Grand Tour. But with easily accessible and over saturated Youtube. Not so sure.

apparently you can add sound deadening material in the trunk under the carpet

i was behind the sedan version in my nismo. I didnt think it sounded better than my car. Just pops, bangs and farts...slightly quicker. Sorry to hijack the thread but how come you didnt go back to a 370z? -
"Calm down dear, its a commercial"

A real shame, but nowadays with the evolution of the interwebs, easily accessible gopros and monetising of youtube. You can get your reviews of 99% of cars elsewhere. Like Jeremy Clarksons one I stopped watching after first 2 episodes on Prime. The production of both shows are top quality though. If you dont find Youtubers annoying then you can get away with never watching either show.

Interesting the beam and rigidity bar are in the same location as the 350 and 370z. Theyve always been 6 cylinder too. Be nice to own one in future! Project car etc

Didnt bother clicking the link

I did it once worked for me in the summer. Then again the car only had some dust no real dirt. Possibly but using the right products helps and also hard paste wax works wonders if applied once in a while. Thats why I avoid black cars. They look cool but you see everything on them. On my Nismo the white paint hides those marks well. but I have to put my cheek against the body of the car to notice those micro marks on the car. Why I love White paint. Better to have straight lines than swirls though. Thats just my 2 cents.
-
I only wash in straight lines if that makes sense to avoid swirls...but the snow foam only works with dusty cars.

You had one before right? What do you think of some the kitted up ones on Youtube. Some have wider arches and bigger wheels or you more of a stock person? Looks like a big project. You had any of the other Z apart from the 240?

Early ban on New Petrol and Diesel Vehicles
GranTurismoEra replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Off Topic Discussion
@gangzoom you mentioned small wind turbines and I almost laughed out loud. Not because of the idea of having a big turbine fan in your garden. But the fact you need planning permission to set one up. Welcome to the UK..... In some countries no one cares...Love red tape -
The version you showed was like a hatchback, Im used to seeing the coupe. 2 cars? If you get this what would the second car be?

Early ban on New Petrol and Diesel Vehicles
GranTurismoEra replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Ive heard the term "clean diesel" used in the past either by manufacturers or diesel retailers. I dont know maybe I was hearing things or hallucinating at the time. Directive created by government ministers to reduce emissions. Fair play. Lots of people bought diesels. That eggy smell at petrol stations was commonplace. If the lithium batteries can be recycled in an "environmentally friendly" and humane manner then its all good. Tbh as an IT guy I have no issue with EV, Hybrid etc. I drive a Hybrid and Im all for full electric or integrated motor assist if it helps the environment. As long as they arent forcing everyone to buy EV and ditch big V6 V8 V10 and V12 engines then a choice is good for everyone. We just need better pricing on EV -
never really seen that version of z3 before. 21,000 euros must be rare? I know what you mean about newer cars.

Early ban on New Petrol and Diesel Vehicles

I remember seeing back in the day when I started driving in 2008. Joe Bloggs floors it to overtake a petrol car and all the black soot coming out the exhaust. I remember saying to a mate there is no way the government can think this is clean fuel. Low and behold 8 years later emissions scandal and diesel fumes being bad for the human respiratory system. I agree that disposal and energy required to produce the batteries cause a lot more pollution than people think. I mean where to the old batteries end up? -

The Cupra was probably marginally quicker. But Z got more presence. Thinking of doing the NC500 next summer in a Z. We'll see! I had a full custom that transformed the car. I sat in the passengers for the first time during the test drive by the Nissan sales guy and felt maybe i shouldnt sell -

Early ban on New Petrol and Diesel Vehicles

Makes sense the sale of new vehicles. Which makes me think future performance and sports vehicles will be electric or at the very least hybrid/petrol performance. Since a lot of people will have no driveway access. Good luck charging on the street overnight, Just needs some twerp to light the cable on fire lol A fully electric 420Z, or GTR R37 with Active Sound Actuator for fake petrol engine sounds..... Errmmmm........ Other option is move to the third world or a remote island with decent infrastructure pay some Minister and drive what you want relatively brand new -
Article on Ban The report claims that the need to proceed with the transition to electric vehicles is the only way Britain’s automotive industry can remain competitive. It also suggests that other counties have already taken the lead with battery manufacturing, so seeking to catch up isn’t worthwhile. Instead, “aggressive targeting of high-value aspects of the EV and battery supply chains” are cited as a more lucrative investment for the UK. Rachel Reeves MP, Chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee, said: “Our EV charging infrastructure is simply not fit for purpose. We cannot expect consumers to overcome ‘range anxiety’ and switch to electric vehicles if they cannot be confident of finding convenient, reliable points to regularly charge their cars.” Interesting. If you really want your Petrol/Diesel vehicles you would need to drive it on the track or illegally. But they will probably go with a staged phase out. Where you would be allowed to drive hybrid petrols for the time being This ban applies to new car sales and expansion of EV manufacturing as well as infrastructure I read somewhere that Paris are taking these ideas seriously. When and If a full ban comes into play, how would this be enforced or policed would be an interesting question. ANPR, Patrols, CCTV?
