  1. SUV and 4 door I agree before anything else. And Full Electric. For infiniti. Nissan can go down the petrol hybrid route for the next decade. That means new engines which will cost but show they are moving towards better emissions and better fuel consumption They will be a lot more proactive than some companies still running pure petrol and diesel in New models
  2. The Qashqai sells in the top 10 of most sold cars. So more than Juke. A full scale model with possible interior. Power train and other components can come in later. For concept you dont need an engine
  3. So what projection for sales in EU would be justified? We know USA will buy a certain amount if its reasonable I think you can start on other aspects without having tech in place
  4. I think it already has. The timeline matches when the original 350z and 370Z released. Its just deciding what Engine and tech to go with. Realistically the production cannot go on for another 10 years because of the rate of the world economy and changing technology. . I also don't expect them to sell much more than the Alpine if the price is 50k....so probably a projection of 1000 to 2000 units per year. Also depends on the engine and running costs. I think a huge factor would be running costs and insurance over design and features. A V6 alone might see similar under 1000 units a year shifted after the initial hype. So they might have to offer a 4 pot version to offset the low sales in Europe. Speaking to sales at one dealer, looks like people are trading up a lot less, holding onto what they've got, even when people do explore options and they most of the time don't follow through. There's still a market for it. Which I why I believe it will come if not for the european market for other markets in general. The below is interesting from a BMW perspective. I noticed 2008 during the crash. Then came the shape change and redesign which reignited interested then after 2 years started reducing. 13,000 is very good! But thats BMW. Having the 2 liter option may have boosted sales. But then it dissolves the Z heritage a bit BMW Z4 2017 244 2016 3.006 2015 4.093 2014 5.373 2013 5.970 2012 7.508 2011 9.417 2010 13.153 2009 13.497 2008 6.116 2007 15.281 2006 15.844 2005 14.137 2004 18.452 2003 22.973
  5. Infinity are heading this way anyway. Those super electric cars to rival tesla will probably come much later on after the basics have come to the market. IE SUV and family sedans
  6. yeah my bad 7k in Europe for 350z compared to 2k for the 370z. Even though Alpines a european car looks set to hit close to 2000 for first year. About right for modern day niche market. God bless America. Down to Europe or UK alone this car gets canned.
  7. Its definitely headed that way towards electric or at least petrol hybrid. Even my current run around was criticized at the time for many of its shortcomings. Funny that its headed back that way now but towards full electric. A new engine and tech will cost a lot for something that might not do well. I had a look at the alpine figures and looks like they have sold 1500 so far. I read it was originally a limited production. Looks like that may change due to increased demand. A reworked q60 engine with some hybrid tech could drive the price up. Its not worth them building a completely new engine when they most likely wont sell many. You cant really compare BMW with Nissan. The M3 was always going to sell loads. Its a BMW. Its a badge. Its marketed better and has a well established reputation in Europe and UK are one of the biggest buyers. At the height of 350z sales it sold 2100 in one year in Europe. The 370 never did more than 1500 or so in 1 year in Europe since 2010. So both cars werent great. The Alpine looks set to hit 1800 for 2018. The ULEZ will be fine for now. Sooner or later they may enforce lower emissions. Right now the 370Z is okay because its not older than 2000. Im sure overnight that can change to high displacement vehicles. Which will be mean less supercars in central london. Unless youre from UAE or Saudi/Kuwait and coming to spend big bucks. Those high tariffs wont affect those people. Its okay for them to release a petrol engine but I dont think 10 years will be viable for production. Things will change quickly. Maybe despite the costs a hybrid petrol engine is the way to go. It works brilliantly and does assist the engine well. If done right. With added turbo it would add a lot of torque to the engine especially when the battery is fully charged. It would be more emissions friendly but drive costs up.
  8. Welcome dude. Ever get to any of the passes in your country? Some scary cliffs. Also 8 mins is a tough ask for even the 370Z but might be possible with some Mods.
  9. The Z will continue to be a v6 im sure albeit a smaller displacement. The not so popular 370Z will probably be the last naturally aspirated Z. People may realise the new Z may be fast but its very different from predecessors. Im glad Nissan experimented at SEMA. Im sure that will be the test bed for them. Hopefully they can work on the engine effeciency and sort the exhaust note out. A youtuber suggested they should make it as a final performance special. I say dont bother. Axe the 370z production altogether this year. 69 plate heritage edition and leave it there.. The base 400z should be at least 400bhp. A 450 bhp GT version to rival m cars and a 475-490 bhp lighter go faster nismo capable of 3.5 seconds. Side by side will kill the TTRS on the track. How do you feel about that kind of power in a RWD. Or should it be AWD with a drift setting? (added costs and weight) The Q60 in its current form should be scrapped in favour of the new Z while infiniti replace the q50 and q60 with a fully electric alternative by 2021. Q60 black S should be scrapped in favour of a possible super Z or r36 concept as it has the hybrid tech developed by Renault formula 1 team which could be used in the new engine The next Tokyo Motor show is at the end of this year. Will a new Z be ready at concept stage? Seems 50/50 to me. A tokyo concept and geneva/detroit reveal seems very quick to me. The new design should pay homage to the 240Z in the same way the Alpine has to the original car. Or should they stick with the current trend? Interior wise the alpine was nice. But the screen should probably integrate into the dash of the new Z
  10. Hi all, my brother is looking to import a low mileage taken care of 240sx Nissan with ac/sunroof/manual. Does anyone know any specialist within and around m25 he can use. Further afield is also fine
  11. I think this car will be scrapped as they are moving to fully electric in 2021
  12. Their whole range especially in America where driving distances are longer it makes sense.
  13. yea no point. Missing the duck tail rear wing. If they sold the convertible here would be an easy conversion. But you can get a 2011 and just do the conversion. Its got the standard 328bhp so not tuned. Dont know if the suspension will be the same.
  14. For those of you within reasonable distance of Park Royal Nissan on A40. If youre interested in seeing the car old and new. There is an event taking place on the 20th of January from 10.00AM. See pic for details. Also took some pics while I was there and spoke to the main man. I will post them later. A40 not A4 in London!
  15. Some superchargers are tuned as low as 450hp up to 650 right? 400 would probably still feel underwhelming for someone with 339 bhp already. supercharger price with labour £10k?? Assuming parts and labour £5k all in?
  16. Someone in the comments mentioned throwing in 4.1 Gears. What you guys think. This has GTR injectors, JWT C2 Cams Ported upper Manifold Ported Lower Manifold Plenum?? Z1 Headers Greddy Exhaust Cold air intake Z1 and Uprev Tune. 20 hours labour on Cams according to viewers? Is this the case? Looking at serious labor costs?
  17. The reason you wouldn't just buy the merc is the numerous recalls and faults reported on the C Class. Also Mercedes quality is up and down and fully specced could cost slightly more than an infinity.
  18. manuals were usually the cheaper option. Well I remember the Nissan sales guy telling me the auto version of 370 was 3k more. Also manuals on the used market used to be cheaper. The market for sports cars is more in the US but I dont think Renault have sold a car in the US for decades. Thats why the Nissan/Infiniti Renault partnership works well for each party in their respective markets. Also in places like Russia and India you just approach the local car companies and offer up a partnership to make something pertaining to that market. Like they have done so far I dont see Alpine going to USA anytime soon. Infiniti will continue over there as their main. With the long driving distances hybrid/electric is the way forward for Nissan/Infiniti
  19. Yep the one on my roof was deep enough. The others were around the edges of the rear spoiler probably caused by tiny rocks whilst washing. Selft healing PPF any good? I heard they can cause discoloration on white paint if left on for many years Also I dont know if old cars from the 90s had something similar to PPF because when we had an old toyota with peeling paint. There was a see through plastic lining that came off with the paint. Regarding the Nismo. Sometimes when you touch the bodywork the paint feels very soft especially around the door. I wouldnt place any reliance on Nissan or their attention to detail. They wouldnt admit it. They destroyed my rims and rim protector. Fortunately new Service Manager paid for the damage and I replaced my protectors out of my pocket. They never admitted it. Also technician denied knowing anything yet he was the only one that drove the car but my rims were curbed....Dashcam would be very handy next time!
  20. Id take the Alpine although above what I think its truly worth. Also because its different and you don't see many around and I can fit in it (6'2). Cayman for much later down the line I think. Well done to Renault for bringing Alpine back also having the MR configuration similar to the Porsches. Id like to see them try the same setup again with a V6 or similar further down the line. Preferably with a Manual Option. I have a feeling this ones here to stay for a while with a limited production for now. Only negative is the tame exhaust. First thing to change Different doesn't always equal better but having a choice is a good thing and reviews are rating it highly.
  21. Loads of youngsters that would love that Mini...
