  1. Haha he's in my room now. Me, him and my housemate are playing World of Warships if you guys know of it. He won't be attending the 13th
  2. @*!#, need to find a woman to bring so I don't look like the social recluse I really am. Cheers guys.
  3. Just bought Dark Souls 3 because I hate myself.
  4. There's a 350 in the new Dr Strange film, saw it last night. Toward the end of the film they create a portal and it drives through it.
  5. Got my MoT on Saturday, hopefully it'll be all good by the evening
  6. Ouch, hope it all goes smoothly from here Kbad mate. Sounds like you've got a share of my luck lately!
  7. Couldn't agree more
  8. Sounds good to me, how about Thursday the 1st, 8pm? Not too late for dinner, but late enough that most folks can get back from work in time. Parking looks ok for a pub that size.
  9. I'm keen! I don't suppose there's a way to wrangle it into a 350 somewhere?
  10. I've just been reminded that I'm double booked this Saturday, -1! Setting up a poker night, if you guys are interested I'll sort something out
  11. Is that a grand for a bottom end rebuild or fitting of a replacement?
  12. Had a great experience with Horsham Devs for an immobiliser issue a while back. Definitely interested in a group effort for rebuilds there or somewhere similar. Safety in numbers!
  13. This is the reason I haven't got mine done yet (besides the cost). I have been hoping to get the long block done by professionals, however the only ones I would trust (that provide a fixed cost on their website without +/-) are Torqen. Problem there is £7,369. I could sell the car, use the extra cash to buy an FI HR or a 370. But then I wouldn't have the warm fuzzy feeling that everything is right with the engine, which is the whole point of doing this. Guess I just have to save up for a while longer
  14. I've just had a new quote in (I was curious so put the feelers out). Latest is: SUPPLY AND FIT + RECOVERY ( Engine Fitters Reconditioned Engine - Warranty) LOW Miles ENGINE £ 2600.00 1 £ 2600.00 Units are sourced from low mileage vehicles for rebuilding Engine is dismantled to its individual components for inspection of damage Engine is fully de-greased and cleaned Cylinder head is pressure tested for cracks and then Skimmed to renew the surface of Cylinder head, If Cylinder head is cracked we replace Cylinder head with another tested unit. All valve seats are machined and fitted with new valve stem oil seals Camshafts are checked for alignment and polished Cylinder head is re-fitted with new head Bolts & new head Gasket Correct torque settings are applied during tightening of new head bolts Engine Block is crack tested and new cylinder liners fitted Engine Block Oil Channels are cleaned to ensure there is no blockage within oil gallery Crankshaft alignment is checked and crack tested and then ground to specification New OEM Bearings Fitted New OEM Oil Pump fitted on ALL rebuilds New Piston rings are fitted to ALL rebuilds Pistons are checked and replaced if required So these guys don't do the water pump, injectors, timing belt or radiator work - it's more just the engine itself. For an uplift they'd do the other elements though and would bring the cost under £4k. Would have to supply stronger internal parts if they are wanted and they'll fit without additional labour cost. Thing is, if I do get the rebuild done, it'd be to prepare for FI next year (or the following), so worth it in that instance. If you're just looking for a new engine, this might be a better way to go about it. Got an 07 Rev-up.
  15. I've been looking at a rebuild for a while. I was quoted just shy of £4k for a fully refurbished engine, with forged pistons an £800 on top of that. This includes: - The engine will be stripped and all parts cleaned in a chemical bath - All piston rings are replaced - Crank is re-polished and re-ground if needed and refitted with new bearing shells (both big end and main) - The head is pressure tested and skimmed, valves cleaned and re-seated, new seals fitted - All head and engine gaskets are replaced - New timing belt fitted (please note that if your vehicle has more than one timing chain/belt there will be an additional cost for this part) - New water pump - Injectors cleaned and tested - Turbo removed and cleaned (If applicable) - Radiator checked and flushed - Coolant replaced - Oil and filter replaced The above comes with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. I'm seriously considering going with this next year, although as I'm just going through oil at the moment it isn't pressing. Do let me know how it goes either way.
  16. Erni, I found that the squeal came back (not to the same extent) after about a week. Pads and discs are fine, rather odd! I've finished a couple of mods over the weekend: Swapped OEM exhaust for Invidia Gemini cat-back (stock cats for now) Rear wiper delete Polished headlights (they were very cloudy) upload picture Link to the gallery in case the photo links don't work: https://postimg.org/gallery/1qs00uvqu/ Next up - probably the bodykit and spoiler, which may have to be a Christmas present to myself in a couple of months!
  17. I've got my OEM exhaust coming off to tomorrow from my 2007 DE. Condition looks ok for the age. In MK.
  18. Looks great! Will be keeping an eye on this one. Was had pressed between a blue and a red zed, but saw a red that I couldn't refuse in the end!

    Which HFC?

Aww shucks, 'spose I'll hang on to the OE cats in some quiet corner for MOT day. Cheers for the heads up!

    Which HFC?

Casually reviving old thread - why would HFCs (Berks or otherwise) cause an issue on FI cars? Was thinking of going Berks and eventually S/C, first I've come across that being a potential issue.
  21. Davey, why did you switch back? Does your aftermarket intake not perform in the winter?
