Wastegate flutter is a phrase that always winds me up and I blame clarkson who still goes on about it!! We have compressor stall and surge on our gas turbine jets engines and it's sounds like a much larger banging version. I can kind of see how people could hear a noise from valve cavitation but essentially a wastegate is a spring and a valve so unless it's opening and closing very fast it'll never come from there. As mentioned it's the air moving backwards through the compressor stage. Also surge and stall may not be exactly the same thing but they usually come together. Surge is where the air coming in can't be evacuated or taken into the engine fast enough and it backs up. This will usually lead to it coming back through the inlet with the 'flutter' and stalling the compressor. Stall itself can be the wheel physically going but can also be an inefficiency of each blade to do its job

Do you mean mine mate? The 044 is fed with -10 and -8 lines all the way to the rail and back. This was an old pic, it's been mapped and running for about 8years on that set up with no issues haha. It's currently being stripped and rebuilt for more at the min so I will take the inline filter into account though it's a 'Russell's' filter as are the lines but eBay rubbish

Rear bumper Led indicator/fog/ reversing light by carlab

Is this still available or is eBay my destination? Haha looking to get some smoked ones for my black Z next month -
I had this same issue with my Crx. Sliding mounts are pointless especially in a two seater: if you're serious about track saying it and aren't too fussed about loads of different people driving it then I'd go with some welded in floor bars and mount your seats directly to the floor with side mounts. It requires slot of measuring to ensure you are comfy and central with the pedals and column etc but it's well worth it. This is exactly what I've done in my Crx and previous track cars. Didn't take too long just remember to check there's no fuel lines etc running under where you're welding haha Hope this pic of how I did it shows what I mean

Z9 sorry haha. And thanks for the positive comments guys

I'll find it when I get in and message you mate. Yeah it does have a renovator dye in it which is great. To be fair it is matte I just buffer it up again afterwards How much is the k9 out of interest. This was 17quid and recommended by quite a few mags etc. It definately did the job for me. Got some tein springs on the way now and I'm going to do the carlab rear light thing as I don't think the standard lights match the LED tears at all

Today's job was to remove the rear wiper. It's not so much bothered me but it seems a touch pointless and ruins the lines of the car. I guardX the Windows anyway so seems pointless keeping it!! Before After Massively happy with how the cars turning out now and really falling in love with how it drives!! Missing my other baby so had to do some shameless photo whoring. My baby CRX turbo track car (currently in restoration/rebuild). Any comments or questions please feel free to get in Touch

Next I had a few 'niggles' I wanted to sort. Starting with the rear strut brace cover which was scratched. I painted it the same bronze as the wheels but without laquer to keep the OEM satin look. Next I bought a full leather Renovator to have a go at my dirty and fading interior. I have no before Oictures but believe me it's night and day. The kit came with a cleaner, renovator colour polish and a protector and cloths. Absolutely brilliant kit and has brought my seats up as new!

Hello there, I've always done builds for all my cars and although I intend to keep the Z standardish as my cruiser I thought I'd catalogue the few bits and pieces just incase anyone's interested!! So I bought the car a month ago. It's a black revup and I love the facelift interior and exterior lighting, well worth the extra tax imo! I looked at a few cars and all were rough so decided that despite it looking chavvy the mechanicals and body condition on this car were worth the asking price. So here she is on the way home. 3ft springy aerial, limo tints that were so old it looked blue from inside, OEM Rays with the centres blacked it just didn't look particularly nice imo. It does however have a cobra sports exhaust which sounds lovely and looks standard enough for me. But if a wash when I git home to see just how scratched etc it was Overall it's in great condition though it will benefit from a front end respray at some point due to all the stone chips!! After lots of thought I decided to refurb the wheels and paint. Not wanting it too OEM I thought a nice bronze would look good. Having a mate who owns a body shop helps as he also machine buffed it and matched the door handles to the wheels Massively happy with the results and adding an RDX stubby that was enough for now!

Hey guys, Sorry if this is a massive newbie question but I've searched (wider Internet aswell) and can't find an answer. I have a 2006 revup DE and the only mods are a Y back cobra sports exhaust system. When I start it the car gives itself a Rev up to about 2k and then instantly settles to either is cold idle (1500ish) or to normal idle if it's warm. If I've not driven the car for a few days it sometimes revs to 3k on start but settles down as usual. Is this starting 'blip' a standard 350 thing or is it a potential problem. Even vids I've watched on YouTube don't seem to have them doing this? Again sorry if it's a newbie question I just want I make sure it's nothing I need to work on

Actually it's not even letting me message you can you take my post here as interest please

Thanks for the reply that's great! I'll have a look online and see if it's a good idea for me. Wanted to go nitrous on the Crx (already boosted) for a while so this could be what I'm after. I've only just read you want PMs does this mean I'll be right down the list for the parts I'm interested in?
-
I'd be interested in prices on the nismo knob, carbon b pillars, ARBs, gearbox mount Also the nitrous set up though it'd be for a Honda b series so not sure on fitment

D1 Throttle Controller , Set Spacers 20mm + 25mm
tubbyandy replied to alanm's topic in 350z Parts For Sale
Is the throttle controller a straight forward fit? Was it a worthwhile Mod as I'm definately interested -
How do you mean by chatter? I have a clutchmasters stage 4 clutch and 9lb lightened flywheel in my Crx and it doesn't sound any different to OEM? Nice and quiet, maybe a bit noisier pulling away as you have to pick the Revs up slightly. What will this sound like as I'm looking at doing it in the next few weeks
