  1. Unfortunately motordyne is slightly out of budget then If your budget is £1000 then there's no point in changing the headers too IMO as they'll just eat up your budget.. although they will alter the sound slightly and maybe add a couple more hp (after a tune) they are a very expensive way to go about it, and to most people, not really worth the cash The invidia is a great sounding exhaust and with HFCs ought to be plenty loud enough for you Although it may be a squeeze on the old budget getting both the cat back and a new y-piece. To get an idea for costings have a browse through the tarmacsportz website and torqen, cougarstore etc as they are all traders on here then maybe drop them a pm on here to see if they can sort you out!
  2. Have a look/listen around on youtube and see which sound takes your fancy. Beating that see if there are any members local to you that wouldn't mind letting you listen to their set-ups. There are also pages and pages of discussion on here about the sounds of each exhaust, but it ultimately comes down to personal taste (although performance wise there is very very little in it to be honest, besides a better sounding exhaust will make it "feel faster" anyway ) To get the ball rolling have a search around on youtube with some decent headphones and listen to some recordings.. cobra, scorpion, ark true dual, invidia gemini, japspeed, agency power to name a few...
  3. Welcome! I can feel your excitement! Congratulations on your purchase you're going to love it!!
  4. These cars are capable of being extremely loud... if that's what you want, however with a system as loud as you're describing you'll never hear your radio! Something like an ark true dual or invidia gemini (or many others cobras scorpions etc) will give you the dual look you're after, and when coupled to decats or HFCs will be plenty loud enough for most people, but whilst maintaining the lovely tone of the V6... personally that's what I'd aim for... Another option are the japspeed boxes, if you really want loud, get a non-resonated japspeed But again, these are super loud!! Also just be weary that your car may not pass the MOT with decats, just worth baring in mind... Although HFCs should be fine if the car is warm when tested so it'd be worth getting to know your MOT guy in advance, they also make the exhaust considerably louder than stock cats and a bit more "fruity"
  5. It's always nearly impossible to second guess how certain parameters will effect insurance For example changing the value of my old car from £4k to £5k reduced the premium by £100! Also for some reason saying that mine would be parked on the drive made it cheaper than being in a garage, and also adding an immobiliser once made mine more expensive... It just varies so much, and doesn't always seem intuitive
  6. Amazing work again! Pictures on the previous page of the DA work look awesome well done! Those motordynes really are a piece of art aren't they! How does it sound now?
  7. Welcome along! Looks like you've found yourself a great car!
  8. Looks good! Again, I'm generally not a graphics fan but those definitely suit your car ... those sidesteps and wheels though
  9. GLWTS! A great deal for somebody right here! An incredibly well looked after car and as for the exhaust...
  10. The brushed ones do look sweet! And definitely an improvement over the stock gearknob for the feel of gearchanges
  11. Very interesting! Good find
  12. Looks good! I'd be pretty keen work permitting!
  13. Martin's away this week mate but I'm sure he'll get back to you shortly (to my knowledge he's the only guy selling these as he makes them himself, unless someone else is selling one second hand ofc)
  14. Looks good! Can't wait to see what it looks like back on the car
  15. Wow what an amazing deal for someone on here! GLWTS
  16. Sounds like you're in a similar position to me last year (I'm only 21 too) There's a great buyers guide here to get you started http://www.350z-uk.c...6-buyers-guide/ As well as an absolute tonne of other info if you search around a bit Your budget should get you a decent DE (03-05) which will also fall under the cheaper tax bracket (and possibly insurance) giving you more to "play with" Mileage isn't really an issue on these, if looked after they will run and run and run... As with "most" cars go on the condition and evidence of good servicing as opposed to the number on the dial. Just as a guideline, I spent a good 5 months looking around for one, they do come up quite often but it's worth biding your time, trying a few and waiting for the right one.. If possible it's worth jumping in one to try out (or see if anyone on here is local to you and may be willing to give you a look around so you know what a healthy one looks/sounds like) I started with a budget the same as yours, and managed to find myself one with a super service history, previous owner was a great guy who clearly loved the car and kept it in great shape and (as a bonus) only 55k on the clock. GT spec etc for £6k So maybe use this as a bench mark? All in all though welcome to the forum buddy! And I assure you 100% won't regret getting a zed! Hope this helps and Good luck with the hunt! (oh and the only "expensive" fix to be weary of would be the clutch (give or take) - not a big issue but worth baring in mind when you go and look at one and take it into account in your budget accordingly)
  17. Welcome! Another lovely sunset zed by the looks of it!
  18. I think it goes well with the louvres you have on the rear windows, with maybe some black wheels and that spoiler etc you could go for quite an "aggressive look" with that spoiler if that's the kind of look you're after! Ultimately it's up to you though mate! If you think deep down and say "yeah it looks pretty sweet" then go for it!
