Ditto, was doing it on my own so had to figure out a way to do it without help

    Japspeed K4

For what it's worth, I got a K4 the other month as my OEM box had sheared off the midpipe, and I needed a quick replacement. I also wanted a true dual, but didn't have (or feel the need) to spend £1100 or so on an Ark Grip. The garage only took an hour to fit it and aside from it touching the ARB and needing a bit of heat/bending, the rest was fine. So yes it can potentially not be 100% perfect, but for the sake of saving a lot of money, it can offer an affordable true dual for the zed. Time will tell how it holds up, but I don't drive in the wet anyway so it may last longer And yes it is loud and can drone around the 1200rpm mark if you are in 6th and in traffic, but open it up and it sounds great
  3. You could plastidip it, shouldn't be too hard and you can peel off if bored or it needs doing again.
  4. If you are handy with fibreglass then go for it, at least you will have something that is a snug fit, maximum volume and totally stealth!
  5. As a SQ purist I'd say amp the fronts only if you do want to amp... you don't go to a gig or film and turn around so the sound comes from the rear do you?... although then again I haven't tackled an install in the zed yet so don't actually know what it'll sound like if you do that! You don't even have to go the fibreglass route for the stock enclosure, I've seen people make mdf boxes that roughly follow the shape of it and they end up ok!
  6. I didn't remove my headlights last time I took my oem bumper off. If you can pull the arch liner towards the rear of the car you should see 2 screws pointing upwards that hold the edge of the bumper on, and a lone screw on a metal bracket that clips to near the fender. This is assuming that the mounting points are the same on an aftermarket bumper. You may find when you pull back the arch liner that the bodyshop has fixed it another way, but hopefully it'll be visible.
  7. Definitely amp speakers, most HUs don't put out much in terms of RMS (even if quoted as such i.e 4x50w they may be producing half that in real terms). You will have a lot better control over the sound as well. And if you are replacing the bose sub, make sure you buy something that is free air otherwise it won't sound great (or build a sub box that fits in the stock location)
  8. I have those (in the ebay link) and they are too quality for an ebay purchase, and point forward which was what I wanted from DRLs, can't understand why you'd want side facing as no-one would see them unless you were waiting to pull out of a junction
  9. I can only advise where the stock mounting points are if that's any help? - 6 black plastic poppers on top near the slam panel, 3 screws underneath the lights (pull back the arch liner while on full lock, or just remove the wheels) and 8 or 10 bolts underneath the leading edge of the bumper.
  10. There are a lot of australian ebay sellers who have aftermarket lights for sale, and they also drive on the LHS of the road so I believe those lights must be ok? Just check where they are coming from and you should be ok
  11. I've only had mine 3 months and already had to put on a brand new exhaust as the old one split off the centre pipe, and also got virtually new Rays to replace the bubbling ones and punctured tyre I had, so that is over 1k spent already let alone what I've spent on cosmetics and non-essentials. It's just something you have to accept may happen on a car like this I guess!
  12. I saw a roadster on autotrader a couple of months back that had 8k but that was a HR (not that it makes a massive difference really) Jk-boi has 18k on his and that looks pretty much mint
  13. The Razor team have been quite active on FB indicating they may be returning, which can only be a good thing! I just wish they were allowed to cause more damage, it seems most teams had a gentlemens agreement to cease once they incapacitated them. I also just finished watching the series on repeat (think it was on Challenge) and brought back so many good memories. Those spinners like Hypnodisc and Typhoon 2 caused so much damage on just one hit when spun up. Can't wait for the new series, even with boring presenters
  14. There is a standard sunset and modded black roadster I've seen around that I don't think are on the forum either.
  15. Agreed, this has always annoyed me as well! Any more info on what you did to it?
  16. Drove up to York today and spotted a couple, followed a grey 54 plate on the A1 at lunchtime until it turned off, and drove past a black one on the A64 heading west about 3.30pm
  17. Loving these!! Definitely something I'd like to do in the future. Where did you get them done?
  18. I got charged an hours labour last time I had a true dual put on (although it actually took just over). That was a complete cat back and a rusty oem unit
  19. Mine is a 2007 DE and looks the same, there was a facelift done on the DE a few months before the HR was released AFAIK. So a few 2007s have the upgraded interior, LED lights and bumper, but are still the DE engine
  20. Still looking good since I last saw it in the flesh. Still can't believe it has only 18k miles
  21. £20 is still good and I'm sure others will agree

Good choice, I went for 20/15 so they don't stick out too much. Also had the same issue torquing up, had to use a socket extension bar wedged between 2 bolts and the caliper in the end
  23. Just parked next to a nice one, silver with deep dish gold rims. Not seen it around before. Also just saw a white Nismo 370z all stickered up on the a140
