The clutch is bedding in nicely and I'm really pleased with the result , with Goodwood player's on the horizon and it's about time to get the paint sorted out . It has been on the car for well over a year and needs professional paint correction ceramic coating, I contacted a gentleman called glimmer man and he has done the work and he's done a lovely job

Thanks Andy.

Me too Andy it's a race against time before japfest hopefully I'll be there ,I'm working hard get it back on the road Saturday morning baring any problems
-
Well small update have installed the clutch new pilot and thrust bearing just struggling to get the gearbox back in
-
Well save me going on about these clutches i recommend that you watch the video! Very interesting .
-
Time has passed with the car not being on the road, so I've done some investigation into a new clutch as the old one was a stiff sprung clutch and hardly any slip just on or off so not the most pleasant experience, so I'm going invest into a Uniclutch , these will fit both 350z and 370z they have a light pedal feel and a high capacity for torque , I'll pop a link so that you can see the difference between single and twin plate clutch plus other points

Correct again, I took the gearbox out, and down to my local specialist helicoil s,e, London. They were very good they found the selector was in two gears, so they replaced selector fork and some bearings and cleaned. The cost was very reasonable under £400.
-
You are correct no need for 6th gear but I had dropped off the car with him the night before and drove it to the m.o.t centre so ! What happened was, as he leaving the mot he came to far out into the road so he snatched reverse and missed it and found 6th hence the problem.

Hi there everyone I've not been on the forum for a while as I've had car troubles . I did take the car out last year japfest and maybe one other meeting. I had to get the mot done so I took it to the normal chap who I've known for over twenty years ,so I dropped off the car and later on he gives me a ring stating that it's passed, the mot but it's stuck in 6th gear, what !. I was to say the least upset with the position I was in, so I parked up and left it for a few months and investigated the issues and was thinking about how to improve the clutch.

Simply Japanese Beaulieu 23rd July 2023
Nismoandy replied to andy james's topic in Local Meets Across The UK
Hi fellas I have recently taken the 350z for it's annual MOT and it passed with flying colours as the mechanic was manoeuvring the car out of the garage he was putting the car into reverse and he selected 6th ,and now it's stuck in 6th gear. I've had car recovered home and I'm going to try and repair i think that the selector has worn and needs replacing, unfortunately this means gearbox out job . I'm afraid I may not be able to make Beaulieu , sorry . But I will try my best to sort out before -

Lovely looking car . Are the graphics on side to do with D C comics Marvel, etc, just wondering -
So I have been cracking on with the build and have installed a very nice set of bc coilovers and I'm really pleased with them, they are BR series, comfort springs, reusing the existing spring bucket at rear and uprating the front . Also have done a small change to the wiring as the start crank sensor was wired incorrectly, also rerouted the Air intake to the grill for better consistent air temperature . Also have tidy-up the exhaust under the car.

JAPFEST SILVERSTONE SUN 23RD APRIL 2023

Nervous poo today -
These are the new radiators reasonable easy to install the japspeed water radiator fit's in the original 350z mount, and the oil cooler i mounted in front of the water radiator with some aluminium plate in a previous photo with a finger pointing at it
-
-
The water temperatures are much improved and unlikely to cause any problems long term and the oil cooler also helps with the overall temperatures so I'm pretty happy with the outcome . I have run the air intake down to the grill for a continuous air lower temperature intake
