How about a decat then add a MotorDyne XYZ pipe with a sports cat? That way you're legal but have the option to swap out the cat for a straight pipe very easily should the mood take you? I run an XYZ with sports cat and Toyo sports back box and the system has a real nice rasp to it above 3K but keep it under that and it's quite civilised.

Next piece done. Just the cubby door to go but I ran out of primer last night. Doh! Should get it all finished this evening.

Thanks for all the comments guys I'll get some more pics up once every thing is painted and fitted.

Thank's I'm very happy with it. I think once all the other parts are done it'll look spot on. I sanded it down with 80 grit sand paper to remove the texture then worked my way up to 800 to leave a smooth finish. Applied 3 coats for plastic primer Flattened off with a wet sand. Applied 3 coats of paint (bmw sparkling graphite to main and nissan black to the pods) Applied 3 roughly 3 coats of lacquer. Quite a time consuming job but I would say well worth the effort. Easy enough for a DIY if you have experience with spray cans

After being inspired by some of the great interior's I saw at the Ace cafe meet I thought I'd give mine a refresh. I sanded down the textured finish of the centre console and gave it a coat of paint.

Rich260 replied to Thanos's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
My partner and I just got back from a holiday in Greece and we flew in to Thessaloniki. It's a beautiful place, I can't rely comment on routs other than the one from the airport to the hotel though! How long are you planning on making the trip? -

Chirag1988's Build Thread - service update

Love this! Can't wait to see that CS rear bumper fitted, it will finish the car off beautifully. -
Cheers, still a lot of work to do but it's a good starting point.

Well I used the wax today after taking some of the advice given on here regarding prep work and I'm very pleased with the results! The wax it's self nice to use, being a paste it's very easy to use and a little goes a long way. I'm not convinced the finish will last as long as a harder wax but I would say the immediate finish is just as good.

Hi, any chance of this deal making a return? £350 for a splitter, side diffusers and spats seems like a steal! -

Honestly, I have no clue I picked up the car, drove it home and went on holiday which is killing me because all I want to do is drive it! I'm back on Friday so can get proper details then. I no the car is lowered on BC coilovers (don't know how much drop) the tiers are Falken all round but I don't know what size. I THINK the car is also running 20mm spacers all round which you would be welcome to.

Hi, I have a set of 20" ACE alloys that I would gladly swap for your Rays. All are completely mint no curbing what so ever and had new tieres last year. I have only just purchased the car but got it with the view of going back to standard wheels as I'm nut much of a stance/ dish man

I have toyed with the idea of abrasive compounds but never really had the guts to do it on my car! I've machined my dad's boat using G3 superfine and it always comes up like new.... But then that's on a nice thick, perhaps more forgiving gel coat. I think I'll try to refine my prep work a bit more before I attempt it on the car. The DI water is a great idea, I have a 4 stage RO/DI unit from my old fish tank so I'll give that a go to, I always find drying to be the most boring part of the whole ordeal so any thing to speed that up is grand I'll have a re sort of my chosen products once I've used up my current supplies to. Coldel- that is stunning, just what I'm trying to achieve!
-
Great stuff, thanks for the help gents I'll put it all in to practice and post pics of the results!
-
Will do. I'm assuming a drying towel is the way forward then?

Wow. This guy has taken it wayyy beyond any thing I have ever done! Thanks for pointing that out, I'll give that an in depth read Hi Ekona, so far the car has had the same treatment as the BMW, all be it only the once as I've only had her a couple of weeks. My usial prep (body work only) would be; Pre rince Snow foam Wash with AG shampoo Dry with full grain chamois leather Cley bar with turtle wax kit Polish AG deep shine polish Finish with a wax I've no experience with any DJ products but have heard nothing but good things about them so that may be my next go to. Interesting to here you prefer that to Swissvax, I don't think many people would own up to that after shelling out the £120!
