  1. Looking to do some lighting upgrades. If you have a set of the uprated headlights or LED rears please get in touch Cheers, Rich
  2. I'm running a XYZ pipe with sports cat and the car has passed it's Mot since fitting it. I believe the main advantage is should you want to remove the cat and fit a resonator or test pipe and run a decat system it's relatively easy to swap it out.
  3. Yea you'r right, everything plastic is one colour and the wheels are another. Is it normal to have that much difference between materials? From the distance I took that pic it's hard to see the difference so perhaps I'm just being too picky?
  4. Hi guys, so I've just had my wheels refurbished and painted, I asked to keep the left over paint so I could colour code the rear strut brace. The strut brace was painted my local body shop. Once I got it home and compared it to the wheels I was surprised to see it's more or less a different colour! I know that when you paint different materials there may be a slight discrepancy in shade but I wouldn't have thought there would be this much difference? I know it was touch and go with the amount of paint for the wheels as on the first attempt they left light spots so they had to be redone. I wonder if they mixed the paint to the incorrect ratio or simply haven't applied enough? So my question is do I live with it or do I have a word with the wheel place and see if I can get them re done? It's not overly noticeable until the two parts are side by side so I'm in two minds to worry about it or not.
  5. So the door handles, strut cover and wheels are now compleat and I have to say I'm very pleased with the over all look. My only issue is I'm not convinced about the paint work on the wheels. The strut cover and wheels were done in the same paint, out of the same tin yet there appears to be quite a difference as you can see in the last pics! I know the wheels took two attempts as the there was light spots on the first attempt and I wonder if the paint has been put on too thin or perhaps mixed to the incorrect ratio. I know that there may be a slight difference in colour depending on what material but as you can see it's quite noticeable when the two parts are side by side! I'm currently debating wether or not I should take it back to the wheel place and see what they say about it or just live with it as it's not overly noticeable unless you put the parts side by side...
  6. Wheels are done! I must admit when I first saw them on the car I was unsure but they are really growing on me! I've taken them off to give them a good wax, seal and get some Meg's tire gel on the rubber. Never used this stuff before and I have to say I'm very impressed, give a lovely deep shine. Only thing I didn't like was how the colour clashed with the door handles so I've dropped them down my local body shop, TGM Sports to have them colour coded. They are also going to paint the strut cover the same colour as the wheels to bring it all together. They have also quoted me £300 for a front bumper resprey and smooth over so I'll probably get that sorted towards the end of feb ready for show season!
  7. A few more updates, the biggest of which is the new brake set up. I must say it's without doubt the best thing I have done to the car. The DBA T2's and the ferodo pads work like a dream together, I've had a few chance's to use them in anger since since bedding them in and the car stops like it's hit a tree. I'm hoping to get out on a track day this year where I can see how they stand up to prolonged abuse but I'm confident they will hold up. Other bits and pieces include a CF slam panel and an Evo harness cover. I think they go quite well together but it dose bring another issue of how to clean the engine! To protect them from the elements I have devised some super high-tech vent covers. Next up is a wheel refurb/ recolour. It's booked in to The Wheel Specialist on Thursday and the wheels are going David Dickinson bronze! I love the look of after market wheels but I love the handling aspects of the Rays more
  8. Those pics don't do this car justice, I saw it at the ace cafe meet and it's one of the best, if not the best 350 out there. Subtle yet beautifully done. GLWTS.
  9. Cheers mate! Yes the T70's are something else. He will be racing one of his others at Goodwood this year driven by Nigel Hulme. We took it to Brands hatch last year for a test day and had to fit additional baffle plates to the exhaust as it was blowing 118Db and the limit was 104!

  11. These are the rear extenders fitted. I would say they are a must as you will not be able to access the rear damper adjuster once fitted. The piece of wood to hold the boot open is optional though
  12. I run Berks de cats with XYZ pipe with sports cat, past mot for the last 4 years with no issues.
  13. https://motionfreaksclub.wordpress.com/2015/12/26/top-5-most-hated-car-mods-2015/ Apologies if I've put it in the wrong section but this did make me chuckle
  14. They're a very knowledgeable bunch and it's good to see two side to the modding on here, those that go for the performance/ drivability and those that "stance" the hell out of the Z and do some cool stuff for the show side. Being based on the Isle of Man it would be rude for you not to go for performance! I've only had my Z a few months and the site has been already been invaluable in helping me make decisions on what to do and what not to do with it. Keep up the good work!
  15. As you say mate, once them coilovers are on I reckon the 18" GTR-D's will look awesome. Love the bronze colour to, good choice!
  16. Top service from Ewen. Very professional and next day delivery on DBA T2 discs.
  17. I noticed my discs had seen better days when I was fitting the pads, I decided to hold off for a little while and do the whole lot in one hit. Ewen at Clark Motorsport was on hand to help out with new discs. I highly recommend this chap, very professional service and next day delivery. I'll defiantly be on his case later this year for a light weight flywheel and clutch package. I'll be doing a brake overhaul with fresh fluid this weekend so hopefully will get a marked improvement.
  18. Love the look of this car, the 370 wheels really compleat it. Keep up the good work
  19. As I say I got nothing against them, in the right application they can look awesome but I'm not sure I'd say classy. I don't know what the difference in weight would be but I'd image the pole position with a custom re trim would be close to CS money and they come in a variety of colours as standard.
  20. Having seen your interior (which is bloody lovely) at the Ace cafe meet I think buckets may look a bit out of place... I got nothing against buckets but with all the alcantara you have on the dash it says luxury to me rather than striped out race car. Would a Recaro Sportster CS or something similar fit? Might be a bit more suited than a fixed bucket and maintain that luxury look.
  21. Cheers mate yea doing the wheels transferred the way the car drove. IMO 20" wheels don't belong any where near a Z!
  22. I now run MeisterR after having BC's on my e46 and would say they are a nicer ride. Far less crashy but just as planted.
  23. My mate did one of these days and drove the lambo and a GTR. Said the lambo was a bit of a let down but the GTR was awesome. If it was me I'd go the Atom and 997 turbo.
  24. You were indeed. I heard you going down the road at the back of the main car park, sounded lovely and a very nice looking Z.
