Being a newbie I thought I would post this after reading the "why it's a bad idea to mix tyres thread".
Presently my car is in the alloy specialists workshop having my original wheels refurbished and powder coated gunmetal grey (probably a waste of money but didn't think it was too bad for all 4 wheels at £260). I had decided to replace all four tyres (ditch finders) whilst getting the wheels done, but the tyre place only had MPSS in 245 45 R18 and convinced me to buy two Uniroyal Rainsport3, 225 45 R18 (same price as the MPSS) for the front, otherwise I would have to wait a week for them to order in the 225 MPSS. As I'm in a rush and wheels will be finished tomorrow I've gone with it but now having second thoughts as it's a lot of money to spend (£550) on something I'm not 100% sure of (I still have the Uniroyals in my garage )
Just wondering what to do now and after some advice. Could I fit 245 MPSS's all round? Would anyone recommend the above mixture of Uniroyal (have a good write up) with the MPSS? Am I worrying over nothing? Edited to say, what about fitting the Uniroyals all round in correct size? Are they any good?
