  1. Need to do this to replace present one as it has a small ding. Does the sill have to come off completely to get to the bottom push grommets? and inside the door there seems to be small push grommets there? Is there anywhere that shows the removal by either video or detailed discription?
  2. Weird one this. Mate climbed into passenger side, closed door and an hour later on completion of journey his door was jammed shut. Keys and interior door handle wont open it so he had to climb over my side to get out. Haven't had a chance to investigate further as it's dark and we had to be somewhere but I'm thinking this is going to be a mare as I won't be able to get the door card off. Any ideas please?
  3. Just tried this evening but to no avail. Already had a 32mm socket but unfortunately it's not deep enough to cover the thread and get a grip on nut. Also went into Halfrauds to check out torque wrench but they start at £75 so will be looking for a garage in either the North East (leave on Thu morning) or Salisbury area. Does the clicking cause any long term major damage? If so will I need to get it sorted ASAP (it's only just started)?
  4. Okay thanks for the help. I'm about to order MPSS fronts via Blackcircle, they can have them delivered and fitted at a local garage by Tue next week. All in will only cost an extra £8.
  5. Unfortunately I don't have the time as I leave the North East next Wed and drive back South. Also trying to get them fitted whilst the wheels are off rather than worry about them getting damaged by a fast fit tyre garage so quickly after having them powder coated. Anyone have any experience with the Uniroyals?

    Mixing Tyres

Being a newbie I thought I would post this after reading the "why it's a bad idea to mix tyres thread". Presently my car is in the alloy specialists workshop having my original wheels refurbished and powder coated gunmetal grey (probably a waste of money but didn't think it was too bad for all 4 wheels at £260). I had decided to replace all four tyres (ditch finders) whilst getting the wheels done, but the tyre place only had MPSS in 245 45 R18 and convinced me to buy two Uniroyal Rainsport3, 225 45 R18 (same price as the MPSS) for the front, otherwise I would have to wait a week for them to order in the 225 MPSS. As I'm in a rush and wheels will be finished tomorrow I've gone with it but now having second thoughts as it's a lot of money to spend (£550) on something I'm not 100% sure of (I still have the Uniroyals in my garage ) Just wondering what to do now and after some advice. Could I fit 245 MPSS's all round? Would anyone recommend the above mixture of Uniroyal (have a good write up) with the MPSS? Am I worrying over nothing? Edited to say, what about fitting the Uniroyals all round in correct size? Are they any good?
  7. Great, thanks Jimmy. By the way what were the costs and was it through a Nissan dealership?
  8. Reason behind my high insurance was definitely down to post code. Used both my parents (North East) and Grandparents (Cambridge) and this reduced premium by nearly fifty percent. Still can't understand why (secure military base in the middle of nowhere) but car insurance has never made sense to me. Glad it was cheaper for yourself, loving the car so far. Trying to work out what's needed for next service in Oct, 2005 car with 62k. Also looking into getting front wheels refurbished to get rid of kerbing marks.
  9. Car now taxed and insured after a long day Ensure @ £1,335. Off to take my Sister out for a drive. Sorry, edited to say thanks for all the assistance.
  10. Yes your right, so won't persue that route and LV is a no go, to young.
  11. Presently I'm at my parents house in the North East as I'm on leave for three weeks. My Uncle popped round earlier and mentioned using my parents address (registered as my home address as I'm a single soldier) instead of the barrack. So I did a quote and it came back at £730 eek. Uncle said as the address is actually registered with the Army as my home address why not use it. I'm now going to ring an insurance broker and find out if it's possible but not holding my breath.
  12. Great news, the fact your over 25 helps. Most won't insure me i.e. Sky, Chris Knott etc and Tesco wanted 4.6K Looks like I'll be paying £1,335 with Esure, although I can get it a couple of hundred quid cheaper with AF I did as advised and googled them "not good I'm afraid". last thing to check now is ring Esure and mention AF quote to see if they can reduce the premium.
