  1. your saying its staged? Sorry but I don't believe that. On the episode when Hammond is stuck up a mountain, I couldn't believe how well they did finding him!
  2. It does look good, but too be honest its not really my thing. Turns out there is a hydrodipper just down from us at work, 'hydrographics' but im not sure what would suit my car. Also I am not planning to put much money into the bay, as I don't ever see it! Hense why just spraying stuff to blend in is probably a better option, for the cost of a can of paint.
  3. Ive heard of it, but never looked into it. Does it cost much?
  4. The only thing which would put me off an EVO are the services, a mate had one and it took a lot of looking after
  5. This S15 doesnt look too bad, but has been on there for a while, maybe a concern?
  6. Yes I found that out last night, but eventually worked out which ones go where. Thats the type of tip which saves alot of hassle when someone tries something for the first time. It may seem obvious when you have done it, but I had no idea they would have different length bolts!
  7. yes I guess your right, but thats why I said it depends on what you want, because if its more looks, then that will out way the speed factor. I would happily have a R34 if they made it a 1.8 just because I love the looks. But at the end of the day, its personal preference.
  8. If that's the case isn't that true of any car? If you can't afford a 370z you get a 350z... Yes I guess, thats why I have the 350z But its more so with skylines because how popular the R34 is
  9. I guess it depends on what you like. Personally Evos dont do it for me. I like curvy sexy cars, like the 350z is. Same applies to the S15, a lovely looking car, but I feel the looks of the S14 arent quite there. The RX7 is as well, classis sexy lines. The Evo is completely different. big and square, but like I say, its personal preference. Its a shame your misses doesnt like the RX7 as they seem to be creeping up in price, so could be an investment if you have it long enough. The R33 is ok, but everytime I see one, I always think 'I take it you couldnt afford the R34' Dont suppose you like the S2000?
  10. I wonder if they will straight swap the zed?
  11. I don't tend to drop things, but not you've said that I'll bloody drop it down a black hole. My carbon hood will be going on at the weekend if we don't get TOO much snow, so I will give this a go then. Cheers for the help so far
  12. I bet the punter who got the job cant believe his luck! Its hard enough to get tickets to see the show being filmed, let alone presenting!
  13. ok nice one. I only want to spray the outside so hopefully don't desturb the butterfly when masking up
  14. ok great, yes I found two pipes, never got to the one under it. A few places on the internet say to disconnect the battery before removing the TB as well or it will screw everything up - true or false?
  15. cheers mate. Too be honest that was the plan, but I am planning to not have any chrome in the bay now, and have black and red. So they are getting sprayed black I need to decide on the strut as well. Either red on the bar and black brackets, or the other way around
  16. Thanks wasso, maybe it was number 9 that was doing it. Is there a drawing for the throttle body removal as well?
  17. yes maybe, but Im sure I got them all around the sides and front, and thought even if one was still on the back, it would still wiggle the front up and down! maybe it is that the seal needs breaking. what about removing the throttle body, I see people removing both at once, but then on the internet people say to remove the plenum first. if so, how easy is that to do?
  18. The engine bay had a degrease and wipe down yesterday for the first time - what a difference it makes to the blacks! I was planning to spray the plenum black but failed to get it off before nightfall, so its a weekend job now
  19. Now before I start, I do want to point out that: 1. yes I have searched the forum and internet for answers, but nothing seems to help 2. yes I know this should be an easy job, but: 3. No I haven't had much sleep due to illness, and a new baby! SO! I want to remove the plenum and throttle body for painting. So I took the strut off, then the plastic cover, then onto the plenum bolts. I worked my way around getting all that looked like they were holding them down. I gathered that it was just a case of removing the bolts, but for some reason it isn't budging! I am either missing extra bolts or its stuck and needs prying off. Though I haven't seen anyone mention this so didn't want to try it and ruin something! Any help would be great
  20. That's a good idea actually, may just push you to impulse buy one though I'll pm you closer to the date if you want as a reminder
