I think its a little pricey for a non HR , also if you are set on this car perhaps you can pay the RAC for a performance car check (under £300) and the will give the car a semi thorough check which may be useful for haggling further or at the very least show up semi obvious underlying issues. Bear in mind though that this is not a professional full check just a little due diligence if you are handing over so much cash - I did this for my HR purchase 2 months ago . Th RAC took thecaraway from the dealer r 2.5 hours a gave me an 11page report after. Hope this makes sense

Actually I think the dealer saw the desire in my eyes so it was game over, plus I had send the RAC over to look the car over ( they took the car off the dealer for 2 hours) so I think the dealer rightly surmised that I was a very motivated buyer

HR and dealers seem to be a bad mix , the only leeway I got from my dealer 2 months ago was a full tank and he was not open to ANY type of offers in any shape or form even though he knew I was a serious buyer that took a train up to view the car in Manchester they tend to drive a hard bargain especially if the car is in good condition
