Hi guys, so the wonderful pay day has just happened, and my bank account is a bit happy... so why not spend some aye?? Since I got my Z , the tips have been black/tarnished. I've tried everything to get them back to a shine. Cleaned them daily for a week, tried polishing them with T cut and even used white spirit ( yeah I know all bad ideas but they're already ruined so why not ) I was wondering, short of replacing the entire back box, is there a way to get new shiny tips on there? I'm not talking those cheap crappy £10 halfords chrome stick on things either.... although this might be my only option :'( Ideally I'd want a new system, but I can't justify £800 for a Gemini TI system with burnt tips. The GF would murder me, let alone anyone else driving me mad with " why??? "

I only ask cause I want to see what I buy, call me old fashioned Also speaking from experience, I hate posting @*!# off, but you being a retailer must be used to it now.

I saw a brown ish 370z vert on it's way to Salisbury with an older chap driving, unsure of the plate. I was in the (very dirty) black '56 350z, but I didn't wanna flash you ( I hear it's a forum tradition?? ) as I didn't recognise the car... anyone on here head that way today?

"You get what you pay for" springs to mind. You gotta ask, why everyone else making quality goods has to charge "so much" It's cause it costs money to make a more solid product. My dad always said when it comes to cars, "buy cheap, buy twice" There's many other versions of it obviously... but you get the point, talk to the traders on here, you'll find a reasonable deal and get fantastic service too

Could I be extra cheeky and ask for pics? I had a thought today, how am I going to bolt it together, cause the PCD and all that jazz. The diameter is about 93mm for the crank ( the bit I'm going to use as a base anyways ) so I'm not sure if that is even a viable solution any more Let me know what you think, and thank you for the generosity :3 This is why we use you forum traders, such great service :3

Nice car buddy, and in the best colour

I did a trip to the Brecon Beacons not too long ago, was quite fun, scenery was fairly nice but the roads. Jesus christ. my poor under carriage :'( All you lucky guys doing Europe make me jealous and itching to do it myself. Just need the funds and the other half needs the time off, which isn't going to happen unfortunately Look like some lovely roads to take at... ummm.... "enthusiastic" pace

I had a similar, but not as bad comment the other day. My 2003 E46 318i was parked on the road for sale, and as it was a 318i, people would walk past and say " oh it's not a 2 litre, it clearly says 1.8 on the back" It was annoying cause I know my cars, and from what I remember, the older 318's were actually 1.9s and the 316i was a 1.8. I don't know, its late at night and I forget. A friend of mine was talking with me about my Z, and asked what size engine it had, to which I said 3.5 He then replied with "oh it's a high spec one then? " I forgave him cause... well... he drives a polo 1,2...... and wanted to race me some time, I humoured him and said sure....

Mega Cheap Front Brake Discs on Amazon
Mikevv replied to roadtrip's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
The amazon link is now up to just a shade under £55, with the ebay up to £80 odd, no longer a great deal hahaha -
Hi guys, I'm after a drilled and grooved brake disc, not warped, but maybe wearing thin? My only issue is I'm not 100% sure it would work as I haven't measured the diameter of the lamp I'm bolting it to. My plan is to use it as a base for a lamp ( check my thread in the green room ) I'm not really sure what the procedure for this would be, but I guess as it would be useless to the seller, maybe I just cover postage, and you get some brownie points? Post up some pics of whatcha got and we can go from there.... If any traders feel like giving me one for free then that's cool too ;) I will post pictures on the forum when it is complete obviously, and like I said please check my thread and let me know if you have any ideas.. Thanks guys!

I so want in on this. Just need a spare £4000 hahaha. Looks fabulous! Fuel wise that isn't so bad, I only manage 26 MPG in my 350z commuting so I can handle 22MPG for fun

Wow. They look perfect! Stock 370z rays look odd on 350s but in this colour they look fantastic. Now gimme

Mods please can you lock or remove this thread as the car has finally been sold nice chunk of cash for Zed parts, I think loan repayments aren't as important hahaha

I'm having a similar problem and would be interested to see what they make of it. I always thought it was me being an idiot and changing gears "wrong" Always struggled with 2nd for some reason, just an unnatural motion on my wrist. Now if it was LHD.... hehe

Took it to a garage today, was told basically my thrust bearing is starting to wear out. I'm phoning the dealer on Monday and saying look, it's no worth only replacing the thrust bearing, do all the bearings and we can work out what's covered by warranty. Does this seem fair to you guys? Or should he cover just the thrust bearing and input shaft bearings, and I pay the rest? Obviously I would get this in writing first before doing any of it.

Let me start by saying I do NOT have one, but maybe you can elaborate a little bit for the other members. Are you after an indoor, or outdoor cover? What is your budget? Where abouts are you based, so you can see it before you buy. Just little things I hope you find a good one, I myself worry about the cover rubbing on my paint as I've seen supposed "genuine factory" covers not work properly. I'll take my chance with rain and dust. Good luck finding one and give us some pics when you do

Carbon Mirror/B Pillar combo £99 Limited spaces available !!!
Mikevv replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
Got my mirrors today, look bloody marvellous, even the other half who hates CF ( no idea why ) likes them. Will get round to some pics when I'm home around lunch time tomorrow. -
Now we're leaning towards syncro rings, again main issue seems to be first. Any idea how long it would take to switch out and what sorta costs for parts, both for and input shaft bearings. Need a nissan tech to listen but I hear ( no offence to any) they're useless on Z cars/GTRs.

Maserati Granturismo, Aston Vantage or ...... Decision P8
Mikevv replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in Other Cars
Maser for me. The noise is great, the looks are awesome, but the gearbox for me is lacking. At least you can fix that in the Aston with the manual options, but the Maser is auto only. JUST PLEASE DON'T GET A SOFT TOP! -
My very limited knowledge and googling suggested this at one point, but I wasn't sure. Is it a big job? What about parts? My brother in law is a Honda master mechanic, one of <100 in the uk, so he will be doing the work as I trust him, at work. We have no place ourselves to do it, and at work he as all the tools and ramps etc so why not Sorry, I'm a young newb and love cars but never got any experience as nothing ever broke ( lucky me ) I'm just thinking is it worth phoning my dealer up, its a 250 mile round trip there and back. My issue is it will actually be 500 miles cause I'd drive up, drop the car to be fixed, drive home, and then come back a week later. Might be easier to bite the bullet myself and what I spend in fuel just use for the service.

Hi guys, recently I noticed my Z is making a weird whining noise at speed in first gear. I know this seems a bit specific, but if I go above say 20 mph in first ( like pulling out at a junction quickly to take a gap ) it makes a weird whining noise, that's relative to revs so it seems, or maybe more speed? I ignored it at first and thought it was just me hearing things, but now my brother was in the car today and he heard it too, and I stayed around 40 mph and went through all the gears, nothing. Then tried 60mph in the various gears, to get the revs a bit higher and just roll. Again nothing. I slowed down, and gently drove away in first and sped up, gently, and it began around 20-25 mph. It made the noise when the clutch pedal was fully down and just rolling ( as if to change gear, but staying in first ) The very moment it was out of gear, and in neutral it stopped. I put it back into first again, and the second the car engaged the gear the noise began again. As I said, it's not in any gear, only first. It sounds like a whirring/spinning noise. Could it just be the gearbox making normal noise, like the gears spinning? Am I being paranoid? My logic is that if that was the case, surely it would do it in all the gears at roughly similar levels of stress? I will check the various receipts from the previous owner ( FNSH ) to see if it has had fluids changed, otherwise could that be my next option? I want to get this fixed soon, as I only have 2 months warranty left ( owned the car for a month now ) and I doubt the dealer I bought it from will accept responsibility.

Do you not want it anymore?
