Seeing as you mentioned some American muscle already, but not a 2016 mustang? They can be had, all options on it with a 5.0 V8 ( the only choice surely??? ) for a smidge over £37k Now I know there's a waiting list, but you can go on autotrader and get one RIGHT NOW for that sorta cash with less than 1000 miles on it Auto or manual, black or red or yellow..... If you want to get me a triple black manual 5.0 for a late xmas surprise.... I don't mind that it's a month overdue JUST GOT BACK FROM MY TEST DRIVE IN ONE....... GO DRIVE ONE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally don't have much faith in Kumho tyres, I feel they aren't worth much - both monetary or quality. Having a google myself earlier for tyres ( mine are around 3mm of tread ) I found MPSS tyres on blackcircles to be the cheapest overall. Assuming you're wanting stock Rays sizes like me, 225(or 245 for rear) 45/18 then I found these prices: Camskill 225/45/18 £139 Blackcircles 225/45/18 £121 Camskill 245/45/18 £135 Blackcircles 245/45/18 £137 Don't quite understand why the prices are so weird, with 245's being cheaper than 225's. With my mid-night maths that puts the tyres around £515 ish ( theres pennies I can't be bothered to work out ) Long story short, I don't think the Kumho's are a worthwhile investment, but a refurb typically can be had for £300 and under, especially from the wheel specialist. So now you have to google your Kumho tyres n see what they go for, I can't help you there I'm afraid. Good luck making a choice, and let us know which you go for, both colour and tyres!

Carbon Mirror/B Pillar combo £99 Limited spaces available !!!
Mikevv replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
I only say this because I bought a set a while back, but a clerical error meant I only got mirror covers. It was no problem, just been waiting for the B pillars to come back in stock. So naturally it won't be £99 for both as I already have the mirrors. I've pmed Tarmac and we will see what comes of it -

I'm interested, can't remember the original price I was quoted but I'll dig it up. Put me down -
I got insured on bigger more powerful cars for less than little 1.2 shitboxes, because they tend to be owned by older more mature and better drivers. My first car was a 2003 BMW 318i - Not exactly fast, apaz did 0-60 in 9.7 I believe, but it was more the fact it was comfortable and safe as a first car Had leather seats, climate/cruise control too Damn nice first car 2nd car is now my Z at the age of 20 and insurance is literally £20 a month more than the BMW was, for a total of about £1700 a year. You just have to shop around for unusual cars that people don't tend to crash much

Seem about right, as it is only there when you brake. However, take the wheels off and check the discs and pads, might have a lip on the disc which you can get sorted for less than a new set, but will probably still need to replace pads as that would carve out a chunk in them If you have the cash, now is the time to upgrade and get some really good quality brakes, but what sort of driving do you do? Track? Fast road? or just normal road/commuting style?

Those are lovely! Incredibly hard to make no doubt I was thinking of using pine, as you say its easy to work with and cheap - The plus side is she doesn't like dark woods so that's in favour of pine I don't want to go as far as that with inlays just yet, not confident and don't want to ruin what could be a nice simple box - Maybe next time! Show us some of your creations? Be interesting to see what other members can create

Is this meant to be a pun?

Are you fussy on colour/condition? Do they need tyres? Just cause that might save you time on people offering you them when they are not a colour you like, or damaged etc. I was going to sell mine, or get them refurbed, but decided the leave them as is for now as it's now "anti wheel" season Gonna get them refurbed when the roads aren't covered in slush and salts Good hunting, usually somebody has Rays for sale, should get a set soon On a side note, I saw your location - You got any idea what happened to the big tree on Salisbury road on the way towards Ringwood? I think it's near a waterpark/club thing? Was driving home from work the other day and this massive tree was split in half across the road!!

I used to love "wood tech" in school, although it was changed to "resistant materials" to include metals and plastics etc... all just fancy names for workshop stuff haha. Anyways, while I know it's a while away, Valentine's day is coming up, and I was thinking maybe I can try and make some form of jewellery box for the other half. Last year I made a jar/basket combo and filled it with notes about our memories/things I love about her It's not that I'm cheap, I just don't agree with going out and buying your other half something shiny and expensive on a particular day of the year supposedly dedicated to love, as opposed to any other day of the year. Anyways. I have no tools at home, bar a hack saw and a jig saw so it's gotta be pretty simple haha My plan is to make a simple box, with a removable top tray that has segments, and underneath just a big open space. The lid, while plain, will be a sort of semi circle, just to add some shape to it. All lined with some form of soft material - felt or something of the like I'll get a chisel closer to the time, and just use finger joints. I remember dove tails being nicer but a pain in the ass to get to fit right in cold/damp weather cause of warping etc, so steering clear of that this time. I found a link to something I feel I can accomplish, nothing overly fancy, but I would rather have a well made product at the end of the day than a fancy, but botched dovetail, warped oblong monstrosity http://www.instructables.com/id/Oak-Jewelry-Box-featuring-Box-Joint-Construction/?ALLSTEPS I like the look of walnuts and darker woods that have a grain to them, some almost have tiger like stripes - Any idea how I can achieve this look on a cheaper, more easy to work with wood such as pine? I was thinking of using some form of varnish to darken it, but that's all I got from my basic school lessons :S Any ideas you want to throw at me are welcome, I'm a bit lost on what a "nice" jewellery box is, being male and wearing nothing more than a watch for shiny things!!

Silly question, but are they the same for pre and post facelift cars?
-
I saw some ice in my work car park and figured I'd check n see how cheeky I can be to get the tail out, turns out... not very, especially when tyres are cold! Turns out torque comes into play very quickly On a side note, the gauge that reads out MPG and shift light etc started saying -3 and Icy but also RPM, anyone know why it says RPM? Said it for the last few times it's been cold, but not today for some strange reason

This just confirms ( to me anyway ) that adding a lip to a wheel makes it look smaller! They do not look like 20's to me, but the colours and lighting would also make it look different. If you were to ask me, I'd say the top were 19's at a push and 18s for the black ones.
-
Wouldn't think they could handle that much power, but I'm no expert. From what I heard the 350z gearboxes ( both versions ) are a bit soft and delicate creatures for their intended purpose/nature of the car. I'm a bit of a noob, but what about trying to source something from a beastly American V8 sports car ? ( vette, camaro/stang etc )

When the weather clears up ( haha this is England....) I will have a crack at the boot weight and penny trick - Washing the road dirt and salts off my car takes priority at the moment, and moneys a bit tight this month having had Christmas and near £800 of servicing in December, as well as having to retax my car lol. Maybe I can convince the GF she needs a new "strut" in her "boot" for Valentines day??? hahaha
-
Literally replied at the same time! I think I'll try the new poppers for a while, and when it fails just use the (rubber) penny trick Thank you, didn't know about the penny trick till now
-
Thanks for the input Maybe I should look at getting a new popper/springs then? As that seems to be the main issue, and wait a while to see if the boot decapitates me or not over the next few weeks

Hi guys, tonight my Z gave me a nice whack on the head when I was putting some jumpers in the back on my way to work/dropping the other half home. I've always struggled to open the boot if I don't have two hands free, I'm having to push the button and quickly switch to try and lift it as soon as I can before it falls back n can't be opened without pushing the button again - This has resulted in frustration and I'm worried soon enough I might damage my paint by ramming my hands there. I thought it was normal until my car tried to give me a concussion - Now the 3rd time in just as many weeks! Could it just be the extreme cold affecting the struts, or are they just generally knackered? This is the first Z I've owned and opened the boot of, the other one I drove before buying my one was a dog inside and out, just wanted to use it as a test to see what they drive like, didn't bother opening things n checking what the space is like inside cubbies/boot etc as I wasn't ever going to buy it. It seems to me that the boot only opens far enough to fit a finger or so inside to try and lift, and even then It seems quite hesitant to open, like I'm fighting against the struts themselves - almost like a resistance??? Having seen the SGS struts, I don't quite fancy paying out £50 if it won't fix the problem!! On a side note, do the SGS struts with a lip spoiler and Nismo spoiler have different ratings? Presumably the Nismo ones are stronger, so if I fit them while only having the OEM lip spoiler will my boot open really easily? Thanks for the help - sorry for the rambles, mildly concussed Edit: added a video of someone else having the same opening problem as me - Around the 6:35 mark I don't know for sure if this is definitely an issue, or just the way the 350z boot works, but I hate it

I can't afford to outright buy a new Mustang, and my limit to live comfortably ( I'm young and in a crap job ) is about £450 a month. My only option is to put down a £9-10k deposit and "lease it" for the first 3 years, then take a loan for the remaining £16k and pay that off over time, all in taking near 6 years to pay off at £450 a month :'( Can't sign up to that with the current job market in case I become "unbusy" lol It's a lovely car, but not willing to stress that much over it just yet.
-
If I had the cash, I'd want it. Saw your car when I got my exhaust from you, it's immaculate, and the subtle mods are perfect. If anyone offers you less than £15k I'd call the police, cause that's a robbery right there GLWTS

Have to tried Jack at Royal Steering wheels? He does damn good work, and can fit it for you if you need to. He does an exchange basis, or if you need to use your car still, you pay him a deposit and he just swaps it forstaf your wheel when you arrive I ordered mine, and 2 weeks later got a call to say it's ready, drove over there and he fitted and exchanged wheels for me in under 30 mins Looking at your location though, I think he might be a bit far away :S

I haven't checked inside again recently, but the last few days my car has been bone dry inside, windows included, so I'm thinking that maybe it was just the moisture in the air mixed with the fact I drive my car at 10pm and then again at 8 am, so the car is warming up when its most cold outside, and then cooling down as the day itself warms up - double whammy of condensation ! Seems mostly fixed now, thanks guys
