Moved house - 15 miles - insurers want an extra £2000 HELP!!
Mikevv replied to Mikevv's topic in Forum Discounts
You're not starting a new policy in that case, you're simply removing a driver from your existing policy. You won't lose any NCB. What was your old postcode out of interest? The new one doesn't exactly look high risk to me, but I'm not local to that area. Old post code is BH24 1SZ -

I have no idea mate, I tried to google it, and it said basically its "low" - BH21 6SW if anyone wants to check haha Can someone confirm ( I'm new to all this ) If I had a previous policy with company X, then start a new policy with the same company, do I lose my "no claims" for that part of the year? I ask cause my dad was on my last policy, and now I don't want him on it ( he has a claim ) and change of address, and job... just a nightmare haha I know if you swap from company X to company Y it gets lost, which is understandable, but keeping it in the family shouldn't change? -
Hi guys, I moved house about a week ago and have got most things sorted regarding paperwork. Time to do car insurance... wow. Long story short, I used go compare to try and find a few cheaper quotes, and was shocked to see the magical 1 had been switched to a 3.... My current policy was for about £1250 or something, but now the best I can find online is £3200 or so!!!! the moment I put my old address back in it drops to nearer the original figure :'( What can I do?? I'm not being funny but if everyone is going to charge me £3000 a year for insurance I may just sell the Zed, much to my annoyance. I have asked my current insurers to give me a quote but they're busy working on it and will email me back ( don't worry I will start a new policy for comparison as well, thats how I got a cheaper price last time hehe ) Any insurers on here wanna help? Or any tips I can use? From what I can tell, it is purely based on my address changing

Red line in 3rd is license losing/prison time so god knows what 5th gets you, or how long it would take Sorry, obvious troll is obvious
-
Coming along for an answer, mine has started doing it slightly, figured as long as the gear changes are good and smooth I shouldnt worry too much
-
Sorry mate just tagging along, as mine doesn't work either. I suspect a hose has popped off for me. Headlight washers work - annoyingly - and so does the rear washer, so must just be a pipe?? Everytime I try and use it, I get a puddle under my passenger side wheel haha been meaning to fix it, but don't really use the car in bad weather anyways.

Sorry to see and hear about your car I have nightmares of people sideswiping me when I park, always means a long walk for me and the Mrs hahaha I personally use a GoPro Hero 4 Black - I figured I can use it for loads more than just a dash cam, and it can record up at 1080p and I think like 100 FPS so thats handy. 4K drains the battery too fast and is low FPS... Use it for the car, when we go shooting, occasional holidays - Just get a few extra batteries, they're quite cheap and always handy Typically one lasts me about 2,5 hours of footage

Not always, but mostly I rang my insurers up (Elephant, just turned 22 back in August ) and they said they have no idea how the auto renewal is so low, double checked everything with the guy on the other end, and everything was right. He said look mate, I can't beat that, the closest I can get is £100 more, so just take the auto renewal. Came in at around £1200 for me, not bad for 2 years NCB haha - Get to phone them up on Monday and say I've moved house, the average price seems to have gone up by £400 a year due to the new location :'(

That's actually rather impressive... Nice Now wait for some crazy old nanny to say it's dangerous and can hurt someone....

I went with black diamond pads and discs, work damn well for my needs. I get some brake squeal but they work so who cares

6th gen mustang Wheelbase : 107.1 in (2,720 mm) Length : 188.3 in (4,784 mm) Width : 75.4 in (1,916 mm) Height : 54.4 in (1,381 mm) Curb Weight : 3,520–3,800 lb (1,600–1,720 kg) For comparison, here are a 350z dimensions Wheelbase : 2,649 mm (104.3 in) Length : 4,303 mm (169.4 in) (2003-2005) Facelight Length : 4,314 mm (169.8 in) (2006-2008) Width : 1,816 mm (71.5 in) Height : 1,318 mm (51.9 in) (2003-2005) Curb Weight : 3,188–3,602 lb (1,446–1,634 kg) So it's a fair bit bigger than what we're used to I guess You're "average car" - A BMW 4 series Wheelbase : 2,810 mm (110.6 in) Length : 4,641 mm (182.7 in) Width : 1,826 mm (71.9 in) Height : 1,362 mm (53.6 in) So yes, parking might be a nightmare, especially with the MASSIVE doors and bonnet On the plus side, you might develop a new skill - Looking into the future ( if you ever learn to find the end of the bonnet )

Does it have to be practical? Maybe an older M3 if it does, or if not something more sporty? Nismo 370z are pretty damn good looking, especially the Mk2, but not overly fast I guess. What about saving a bit more and getting a V6 Exige S? They're damn good looking, and bonkers fast/agile. As you can tell, not a fan of hatchback/pocket rockets

Found them on ebay, seem a fairly good price considering the tyres IMO http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-X-19-INCH-NISSAN-370Z-Z34-GENUINE-RAYS-ALLOY-WHEELS-WITH-TYRES-/172330258619?hash=item281faf10bb:g:HhEAAOSw6n5Xua3e

Saw you headed towards Turbary Park, gave eachother the awkward finger acknowledgement haha - The GF wanted me to wave like a looney but I didn't have the heart to do it. Always liked the ginger ones, look special

I'd rather spend the money on one of these badboys - Granted I'd need a new everything.... but thats reliable big power Someone find me a RHD american car I can dump that into http://www.partsworldperformance.com/ls3-engines

I prefer the idea of a Mk2 with Mk1 wheels and (possibly) spoiler. Mk2 looks better, haven't driven both for long enough or close enough together to tell them apart.
-
Yes and no, they can be had at great prices used now ( not that I'd want an "ex demo" sports car - Cold hard miles :'( ) Still around £30k is nothing to be sniffed at - Nice spot! Anyone else prefer the MK1 nismo spoiler and wheels?
-
Don't know how I could forget that, used to infuriate me trying to buy one online and nobody mentioning internal sizes. All added in, thanks for the heads up

WEIDER HOME GYM I have for sale a complete home gymnasium system for which I no longer have any use due to an arm injury. Please see the pictures attached to give you some ideas of the exercises that can be done with this gym which includes pull downs, leg raisers, pects and shoulders plus of course the usual biceps and triceps exercises. There are a total of 8 weights which can be selected according to ability and strength but should be more than ample for most people except Arnold Swarzenneger. Price : these go for £350 to £400 new, so I think £100 is more than fair. I'm sure I don't need to point this out, but they are collection only. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and I will get back to you ASAP

I'm bored and it's 5 AM, so why not start a tattoo thread! I will start off by saying I have 3 ( better pics to come when the GF is able to take some - My camera is much better than the ones used for the images provided currently ) I have a Heartagram on my forearm, which I got when I was 17 - Holland has different tattoo laws Then I got a day of the dead girl on my outer bicep/shoulder when I was 19, and re done a year and a bit later. Then more recently, last year I got an eye with a person inside it walking down a road. They all have different stories, and I personally won't get a tattoo unless it holds significant meaning and has a story behind it - However I don't mind other people getting fun tattoos, one of my best friends has a light switch behind her ear in the "off" position because she isn't too bright - we just say nobody turns her on pahaha Anyways, back on topic! The girl is to represent that although she may appear ugly on the outside, she still has beauty, However she doesn't believe it and thus tries to cover it with the veil. The eye representing that you may walk alone in dark times, but there is light all around - tried to get something not cliche and more " artsy " The heartagram is a bit more complicated It represents a time in my life where there was not a lot of give and take, the Heartagram itself being a pentagram but part heart, which is one of my favourite bands take on Yin Yang. I got it to remind myself to give and take in equal measures. I included the original reference images - They don't quite match, due to my skinny arms/mistakes being made but hey, nothing is perfect and I'm 75% happy (This is an odd thing but if anyone wants the full stories behind anything, I will PM them, but they are under no circumstances to be shared publicly on the forum )
